The most amazing pineapple fried rice ive ever had. I have eaten in New York, i have eaten in Los Angeles Cali, and my home town in Washington DC, and i cannot find better pineapple fried rice. I will be making a 3 hour trip just to get more of your pineapple fried rice.

Went there to get some take out and ordered pad Thai and szchuan chicken. The chucking dish was good with white rice but the pad Thai was the most awful pad Thai I have ever had. There was an awful smell in the pad Thai and i ended up throwing the whole thing away.

Three stars cause the meat was OK and service was quick. Knocked off two stars cause everything else tasted gross. The wonton in my soup had a teaspoon of meat and very doughy. They did not add a side of noodles to my soup order. The broth was bland. My pork fried rice was gross as well. Old freezer burned veggies and it did not taste like authentic chinese at all. The egg roll was pretty good. The orange chicken was as expected from a takeout place. The meat to breading ratio was pretty good but over sauced and sweet. Their problem is they have spread themselves out too thin. Thai, chinese and Japanese/sushi in one place? Focus on one thing!

Never ordering from Golden Chopsticks again! My husband placed an order for delivery tonight at 5:53pm. By 7:04pm, we were still waiting for our food and called to check on the status of our delivery. The owner abruptly yelled nonsense and hung up on my husband. My husband tried calling back two more times but the phone immediately hung up without a response. By 7:12pm(1 hour and 19 minutes after our order was placed), we gave up and called to politely cancel our order. The owner continued to yell nonsense and again abruptly hung up on my husband. Thinking that she didn’t hear him(due to the owner yelling over him), my husband called again at 7:13pm to tell them the order was cancelled. At 7:24pm, the owner rang our doorbell to deliver the food, but we told her we had called and cancelled the order. While yelling and flailing her arms at us, she told us that most customers pickup their food and don’t ask for delivery. After yelling nonsense, she took the food and walked back to her car, then sat in front of our house for 10 minutes, then left. We have been long time customers of Golden Chopsticks, getting delivery about once every two weeks for the past 6 years. Nine months ago I even gave Golden Chopsticks a 5 out of 5 on Unilocal because their food is very good. But due to the long delivery time, lack of communication, yelling that«most customers pickup» and erratic/rude behavior from the owner, we will never order from them again.

I have been eating at Golden Chopsticks fairly regularly over the lsst five years and have always enjoyed my meals. I tend to stick to their Chinese dishes but have ordered a few sushi rolls from time to time. Just writing about it has made me crave their delicious lo mein and spicy Hunan delight! Do yourself a favor and give this small, family-run restaurant a try if you haven’t already(and go back again soon if you have)!

Another lunch time adventure, since i’m still not familiar with the Harrisburg area I got lost trying to find this place, which was my own fault not the establishments. One of my co-workers has been raving about this place for months now and her food smells so good so I decided to try it for myself. Well the smell is better then the taste, don’t get me wrong it was good but nothing to brag about. I would say it was average. I ordered the lo main lunch special. You get a lot of food for the price. Maybe next time i will try another lunch option and see if that will be more flavorful.

I have been here several times in four years. More frequently in the last six months. Food is good. Consistently. Fresh and flavorful. I stick to the Chinese options. Huge portions, I’m pretty sure I could get three meals from one dish. Crab Rangoon is the best here. Chicken Lo Mein is delicious. Ginger Beef is wonderful. I usually pick one new thing every visit, always satisfied. Dining in can be a bit awkward, so I suggest an open mind here. The server will answer her phone to take a to-go order, all the while standing next to your table. So while waiting to place your own food order you get to listen. She does say excuse me! :)

I just got lunch from here, and I am pretty disappointed. I got wonton soup and the kung pao chicken lunch special(includes pork fried rice and«egg roll»). The staff was friendly, and my food was ready when I went to pick it up. The place looked clean, but I only stood at the hostess station to get my food. Okay… now for the food. The lunch special had a generous portion of entrée and rice. The«egg roll» was not an egg roll, but a spring roll. And, it was mushy because it was thrown on top of the rice. It tasted okay for a soggy spring roll. The entrée was not very good. There was at least a quarter inch of grease on the bottom of the container. The meat was decent, and edible. The flavor was okay. The highlight of the meal was the pork fried rice… they did a nice job on something that many places mess up pretty badly. The wonton soup was NOT good! The broth was fine, just your basic chicken broth, but the wontons were… ack! There was about a peanut sized amount of meat inside a huge wonton, and the meat had a weird taste… it was almost sweet. Not good! All in all, it was fine. I certainly did not save the leftovers though, and I don’t plan to go back unless I am desperate(I work pretty close, so it might happen).

Not delicious. Edible and will kill the hunger pains but like others have said don’t go out of the way for this place and don’t make plans to come to this place, end up here haphazardly. Lunch specials(11am-3pm) are a little over 5 $ with includes a veggie roll and rice. I went around noon and the place was completely empty — one of the workers was sleeping on the table in the back of the dining area… this can’t be a good sign… I had General Tso’s chicken and there was a slight hint of flavor(no spice or kick) and that hint was not distinct but generic and bland. I get the feeling they probably use the same sauce for all their similar saucy dishes i.e., orange chicken, sesame chicken but that’s all speculation. Good Luck

I have been back to Golden Chopsticks a minimum of 20 times since my original review. All the different dishes we have tried are excellent. Portions are large and prices are fair. Their sushi lunch special is a hidden gem. Soup, salad, and two rolls for $ 8. They put a ton of fresh fish in their rolls. The staff is very excellent and they remember their customers(I no longer have to request a side of eel sauce with my sushi). We will be moving out of Harrisburg, and this is one of the things I will miss the most.

First try here. Friendly greeting on entry. Table service average. Ordered lunch. Too salty to eat. I forced down a fee bites, but had to give up. Told person who seemed to be in charge. Nothing. Told server, she gave me more water. Asked if there is any concern that too salty to eat. I’m told they sell a lot if the dish and that they add more salt to go with the white rice(so because I chose that instead of pork rice I get salty food). Long story short, would have appreciated being offered something else. Instead I received my bill, a cookie and surprised reaction that I didn’t want to take it with me.

I order here maybe once every two months or so. The Chinese food is good, but I would stay away from the sushi and Thai food. There was a time where my sushi tasted stale and old… not very appealing since it was raw food. I would rather drive a little further to Sakana. As far as the Thai food, once ordered Pad Thai and went home to find that it was just noodles drenched in this tangy red/orange sauce. From my understanding, it should be tangy, yes, but I thought it should’ve been drier and more«stir fried». Either way, its just simple chinese food like lo mein and fried rice from there from now on.

Sushi is good all around, its all I ever order here. They have some fun specialty rolls to try out as well, I have tried their chinese; its decent chinese food they use 16⁄20 shrimp which isn’t always the case with chinese places, the thai is lacking a lot. The owner can be a bit brash but shes generally nice. I do delivery or takeout. I’ve never eaten inside the place, and i have always been satisfied with the food. They also are one of the few places that deliver sushi in harrisburg. Definitely worth a look.

Ordered out from here late one night. Thank goodness they delivered all the way to Harrisburg or I would have been very hungry. The women who took my order and delivered was friendly and helpful. The order took a while, but it was at the end of the night and was a bit of a drive. As for the good, I ordered the Pad Thai since they had a little bit of everything here. The dish was just ok. It definitely wasn’t had normal Thai food is prepared. It had a sweet sauce on it that reminded me of something off of a Chinese menu. Still it was tasty enough, just not quite what I was expecting. My friend got the General’s chicken and it looked good and he seemed to enjoy it.

A little place in a strip mall off of Linglestown road(between Issac’s and A Freckled Frog). Good Chinese food at a reasonable price. I tried a sushi(Black Dragon) roll from their wee sushi bar and it was really tasty! I have not ventured to test their Thai selections… there is a separate Thai menu that looks way too much like a pre-fab«restaurant chain» menu and did not inspire confidence.(But hey, if you are aching for good Thai food, head over to Bangkok 56). I like this place.

I was so impressed with their phone service, I was brought to tears of exstacy. Then magic, I’m reading other reviews and found another had awful phone buissnes. This was enough to motivate my lazy ass to review. I’v always said there should be a phone gal that takes orders and speaks english. Pet peeve #143 placing/cashing out your order only to be interrupted by the phone and the gal explaining what cheeze is. Food: sweet and sour soup was good. The chikn n broc. combo. Was faboulse. Enjoyed the tender thinly slice chikn. Bravo Golden chopstix, I wish you many more successful year s. Esp. scince giant moved out, and place looks like a deserted western town.

Lunch special is so worth it! 2 rolls and the rolls are big with about a one inch piece of fish in every slice, soup and salad $ 7.99, spicy salmon and the eel and avocado roll were very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. The menu is a huge selection of pan asian. Will definitely head back to try the udon dishes and the curry.

Do not go here if you are looking for authentic Thai Food. This is a chinese restaurant trying to do too many things. Their Chinese food is very good but their Thai is not authentic IMHO. Everything has the same flavor and not very Thai tasting. They use Udon noodles(a JAPANESE) noodle in most of their Thai dishes. Nothing I tried tasted anything like thai food from a true Thai place. Their California rolls are good and the Chinese food is good but do not get the Thai thinking it will be authentic. They use more oil in their Thai food compared to authentic Thai restaurants. It just taste like Chinese food trying to be Thai. Has a heavier taste than Thai, which is lighter. At least this it my opinion from comparing this to places that just serve Thai. Go for the Chinese mainly but you may like the Thai. The place is very clean and staff is great. I’m sorry but I tried several dishes and they do not taste like the Thai food I am used to getting at Thai places. I am not saying your Thai food is bad tasting, just not authentic in my opinion. I do not notice the use of any fish oil in the dishes I tried. As you know Fish oil is big in Thai Cuisine. If you use it I can not notice it… I also prefer Jasmine rice that all Thai places have which you do not. Again, your thai food is tasty but not authentic in my opinion. thanks. update– tried yellow curry tofu. Description said it has potatos and eggplant in it… not one potato or piece of eggplant and it takes more like an Indian dish, not thai. Was not that good… will keep trying their other dishes… still a nice place overall. I would like to add that they give you more sushi than most places for the same price.

I have to agree with Dana on this review, im more of a 3.5er on this, but ill round up. The restaurant itself was nice, large organized fancy tables, a small clean shushi bar, a small check-out counter and a kitchen area. The restroom was clean, and there was a Sunday patriot-news spread out on the one table as i entered. I went for lunch today before heading into work. It is located in the Oakhurst Plaza in Susquehanna Twp, off Linglestown Road. Thelady who is the manager /waitress worked for a number of years as a waitress at Hong Kong Ruby on Jonestown rd. They serve Thai, Chinese and Japanese. my overall ratings: Japanese: chose any 2 rolls for 7.99, got spicy tuna & eel avacado rolls, along with miso soup. it came with a small amount of ginger, had to ask for extra. the miso was okay, not hot really. Chinese: Ordered Orange Flavored Chicken: it was pretty decent, i love this dish, almost everwhere I go it tastes great, this was probably the best dish there that I tried. came with pork fried rice, wonton soup and a shanghai eggroll. not bad at all. 5.95 lunch special Thai: ordered some Tom Yum soup, it was the smaller bowl for lunch time, 7.95 dollars. it came with large noodles, and several small shrimp, broccoli and a nice tasty rich broth. I liked it, my wife, her mother and i shared this one. Thai2: This was a variation of a favorite. When at Okini or Hong Kong City I usually eat Mango Shrimp. Here on the lunchtime thai menu they had mango squid. i decided to order it, it cost 7.95 dollars. It came out first of all the items, it had brown sweet rice with it, which really tasted good, not like the normal pork fried rice which is bland and gross. All in all I’d say check this place out if youre hungry and in the area, but dont go out of your way. accepts all 4 major credit cards, and has diner coupons in the Clipper magazine.
