They have a new name but the same owners. They are now called Molly’s after the owners grandmother. The food was good dinner fare. The gravy was wonderful. I got a hash which was good but I did not care for the sausage. My wife got bacon and eggs and the bacon was great. The eggs were a little flat but in all a hardy breakfast. We will be back.

Nice place. Our waitress, not sure her name, younger, super friendly, excellent waitress. We had omeletes, very good. Love small town restaurants. This is not a greasy spoon. Yes, will come back when in the area again, which should be in 3 weeks.

Heading north to Portland, we took the slower but more interesting route: 99W. Laid out like the twin strands of a necklace along the rich flat lands of Willamette valley, the highway and railroad tracks are strung with towns, villages and hamlets just far enough apart to be convenient for the farmers to reach in their horse-drawn wagons or early 20th Century cars and trucks to buy supplies, go to church or school and put the crops on the railroad cars. Harrisburg is one of the villages and here we stopped for lunch. I spotted a sandwich board with the advisory that breakfast was served all day. It was next to a nondescript building with no other signs. We went in and learned from the waitress that this had been Jakes, now was the Grubstake Café and would become Molly’s Café as soon as the new sign arrived. I ordered the split Octoberfest sausages with two eggs over easy, hash browns and coffee. Three large firm sausages arrived that were somewhat like very good franks without all the water and fat content. The hash browns were ordinary. There were a few customers in work clothes when we came in, but soon a flock of elderly farmers and their wives shuffled in and the café was livelier.

Home style food with country comfort service. Fries are crispy on the outside, tender onsite. My little buddy had a full stack of pancakes, 3 large… and 2 strips of perfectly cooked bacon. The restaurant itself is very clean and taken care of. Simple… like being home. We will be back.

This place is NOT fancy, it’s your typical greasy spoon diner. That said for what it is, it is excellent. Large portions, fair prices and excellent service make this place a local favorite.

I had the Bacon, pepper-jack burger with fries and my hubby had Christine’s French dip. My burger was delicious with a genuine beefy flavor. My husband’s was delicious too. The french dip has caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and thin slices of beef along with the side of au jus. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is attentive. This is not our first time here, and it will not be our last!

It just ok… Stay away from the hash browns because they don’t taste good at all. Scratch gravy is not good either. Service was friendly is the reason for a 3 star review however because of the food quality we won’t return.

I love the mini breakfast that includes a choice of 1 egg any style, 2 thick pieces of bacon or country sausage, hash browns and English muffin or toast. Filling, tasty and affordable with a home town feel. Really nice waitstaff and food comes out fast and hot. Great place to run into friends. The waitresses check on you to make sure everything is good and that your coffee cup is full! The coffee flavor isn’t my favorite, but with sugar and cream it tastes ok!
