Typical American style chinese restaurant. Cheap lunch special and definately not awful. I ordered orange chicken which had good flavor but it was tiny bits of meat, with light breading, and swimming in sauce. The fried rice was not the best I’ve had and it contained an over whelming amount of carrots. The wonton soup was OK. A bit too much salt and soy, but the wonton dough was thin, which is good. The noodles it came with tasted fresher than most other places. Overall, cheap quick take out if you are just hungry and need to get filled up.

Have eaten here dozens of times as I live close by. Mainly get curry chicken, pepper steak, and a couple other dishes. Food is always very good to excellent and ready for pick up in 10 minutes.

Well, since we were starving at this point&it was too late to reorder from anywhere, we ended up eating some of the food they delivered. Buuut, even as famished as we were, we did not enjoy the food at all. The beef and broccoli was very bland and was swimming in oil. Made me feel sick… ugh awful service, yucky food.

We’ve been going here for years. Nothing has ever been a disappointment. The sushi is outstanding and well priced. They handle special requests very well. Dine in is BYOB and they are very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Egg drop soup is good as are crab ran goons. I love the generals shrimp and my husband likes the chicken pad Thai. Reliable and good service for eating in

If you haven’t been to Hong Kong City in the past few months, go try it again. Wow. They evidently got a new chef. And this guy can cook! Suddenly the gravy for the Egg Foo Yung is rich and made correctly with curry. The shrimp are tender in every dish. The veggies are cooked to the perfect tender crisp one expects from excellent Chinese cuisine. The sushi has improved greatly in size and quality. Perhaps a new sushi chef too? Thought this was an ok Chinese takeout place? Everyone we’ve sent wont go anywhere else again!

Their lunch specials are amazing, 5 bucks for more than i can eat and it’s always very fresh even for delivery. Their sushi is high quality considering it isn’t a strict Japanese restaurant. Friendly staff, nothing at all to complain about!

I like this place. I’ve yet to be disappointed. The Volcano Roll is amazing if you like tempura and the Kani Salad is made well. Relaxing soft lighting if your on date night. I’ve been here many times. Always pleased Prices are very reasonable as well.

I finally had the opportunity to dine in! Sushi bar, great sushi chef who had some really amazing special rolls. I tried the Tuna Dumplings & Sunflower Roll, not on the menu but ask about them & he’ll make it. — he actually suggested them & I’m glad he did. It was a saturday night, he was sociable & friendly. - My friends got aThai curry & a Chinese dish, they were pleased but as for the curry, VERY spicy.

Quite good! We dined in the late evening, and thus were the only two in the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice enough, and the food was great! I had the orange shrimp, which was the better of the two(my girlfriend got chicken and broccoli…). The man who served us was actually Indonesian, but spoke a good deal of Chinese. The menu was a nice blend of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese dishes(I’m sure there were some others thrown in), as well as a sushi bar. Also, though we didn’t get it, they had mochi and fried ice cream, which I’m sure was very good. Altogether, I recommend it. The food and atmosphere for a reasonable price make it well worth it.

Meh, I’ve experienced better. This review is for Hong Kong City(formerly known as Hong Kong Ruby). When I first went here a couple years ago, the food was really good(4 stars worthy) but after a bunch of less than stellar meals here it goes down to 2 stars. So why the 2 stars you ask? First off is the consistency or lack thereof. Everytime I go there it seems like there is a different cook or they are using different ingredients for the same meal. So one time a dish will be just mildly spicy, the next time the same dish will be sweet and spicy, and the time after that the same dish will be just sweet. And the vegetables I get with the meal are always different. Second is the price. Way too expensive. Yesterday I dined in and me and my friends got: 1 order of general tso’s chicken with white rice, 1 order of mu shu beef(with 4 pancakes), and a small order of garlic shrimp. The total: $ 30.20 plus tip. $ 30? really? No drinks and two and half meals for $ 30. For $ 30 I could have went to an actual restaurant and not a Chinese takeout place. What was also troubling was the food itself. First off, the garlic shrimp was a plate of random vegetables and two shrimp. Two shrimp? $ 6 for 2 shrimp. It was really disappointing. Second, the food was room temperature like it had been sitting out for a while. What’s the problem here– is your kitchen broke? And normally the general tso’s here is really good but not the last couple of times. It did not taste fresh at all. The lunch specials, which are cheap, usually use food that tastes a day old(like they made it yesterday and now serving it today) and although not the tastiest and freshest it was a good value. But now when your dinner menu tastes like you cooked it yesterday and is not hot, there are serious issues here. I also noticed today that the lunch specials of General Tso’s and Sesame chicken were the exact same thing, only difference was they sprinkled on sesame seeds. The pork fried rice was just Spanish yellow rice. haha. Take a look at the pictures I posted. In terms of their sushi, not bad not great either. There are much better places for the sushi too which are very close by. I will not be dining here again and I would not recommend this place.

Orange Chicken is my hands down favorite here: crispy-saucy-not-too-bready-yummy-all-over goodness satisfies my Chinese food cravings every time! Besides the good food, our dine-in experiences are always pleasant and the place is kept clean. When we order delivery, the phone staff are courteous and the driver is always on time(if not earlier than quoted!). Without looking it up, I can think of another half dozen or so Chinese restaurants near my house, but I keep coming back here because it’s the best local balance of being affordable, great on flavor, not-stingy on portions, and friendly — in my opinion, anyway!

My son enjoyed his sushi bento box and I enjoyed the eel sushi rolls. I’ve had better eel sauce(I enjoyed the eel sauce from Miyako in Harrisburg better), but still, they were yummy, enjoyable eel rolls. We decided to try the rock n roll sushi, which had deep fried tempura. We were oohing and aaahing with delight with delight when we tried them(we hadn’t ever tried deep fried tempura), and I looked up and realized the guy at the table next to us was laughing at us(in a fun way). So overall, it was an okay restaurant. Not the best sushi ever, but they have nice choices on the menu and the food is pretty good.

This place is OK. It’s not as good as Hong Kong Ruby(previous establishment that was in it’s place). Their wonton soup is different… good or bad depending on what you like but its different than most wonton soup. Some of the things I get are bland while others is tasty. Their fusion menu is good… try the vietnamese beef… very flavorful and fragrant. Worth trying… can be hit or miss. update…been going back and food still ok… staff sometimes not very friendly though… they used to be so not sure whats up with that…

I love this place. First of all, ‘typical chinese’ food is better than most. But my favorites are on their Pan Asian Menu. Beef Pad Thai, Beef Pad Kee Mao, and Mango Shrimp. They’ve also got great sushi.

Won’t be going back any time soon. When I saw this name, I was rejoicing. I have been in search for HK style Wonton mein for 10 months. I though I have finally found a place that would have that. However, when I went in the waitress kept thinking I wanted Wonton soup instead of wonton mein. After a few minutes of going back and forth, I gave up and they brought the wonton soup. Unfortunately, I knew it was going to be bad when I saw the wonton was flat, which meant it was filled with minced meat and not shrimp. I ate the wonton and it was terrible. I couldn’t even eat anything else that my friend and I ordered. There isn’t really anything in the menu that would make this any different from other restaurants I have been such as Chef Wong’s. I may have gotten their off day, considering other’s reviews. Might try it again someday.

10÷22÷086:30pm I was very impressed during my visit to Hong Kong City. I found myself on the East Shore with a Chinese craving and so I checked it out. I am glad that, instead of switching to a buffet format, this restaurant stuck with a sit-down format and instead expanded their menu to include foods from all over Asia. I thought it was a little tacky to have lovely water sculptures in the foyer with a hastily handwritten sign saying not to touch them. Ever hear of Plexiglas, people? I was also taken aback by the 1970s multicolored vinyl triangles(remember, the kind that used to hang from the awnings at gas stations?) hanging from the ceiling. Hideous. Vinyl tablecloths underneath glass tops? Wow, that’s just a little bit of overkill in my book. I don’t mind the glass toppers when they’re using nice linens, but with tacky, ugly vinyl tablecloths? The service was a little lukewarm. The server did not make eye contact with me, but was outstandingly efficient and had everything timed perfectly. She never let my water glass go empty. I prefer to be asked if I would like something, rather than, «You want???», but that’s just me. My Hunan Pork was out of this world, even though I ordered it extra spicy and it came out pretty bland, in my opinion. I checked the ticket and confirmed that she wrote down my order, so I’ll be sure to order very spicy next time, to assure seared sinuses. I know this doesn’t read like a 4-star review, but I do recommend Hong Kong City for a nice, sit-down meal.

It was my first visit, a take out run. For this area, the menu is impressive. Nice to see some Hong Kong style and Thai dishes that you won’t find elsewhere around here. Based on Unilocal reviews, I ordered the Cold Sesame Noodles in addition to the Basil Shrimp. The noodles were definitely excellent. The Basil Shrimp was very good, almost outstanding for restaurants in this region. So, I’d say four stars for the general diner, three stars for foodie purposes. If future meals are similar quality, then this place is definitely far superior to most chinese restos in the area.
