Lola’s Day Spa

Lola’s is one of the few places in the area where you can buy Bare Escentuals mineral makeup in the flesh… many samples are open and available for close color inspection and they usually have the season’s latest shades. They offer a few other beauty items as well, and they have complete manicure/​pedicure services, but I can’t vouch for those.
I’ve frequented this lovely little shop since its opening because I’m an avowed bare minerals junkie, and I’ve probably plunked down a good several hundred dollars in there on my little pots of perfection. However, and this, dear readers, is my peeve: never once in my years of going in this little shop has the owner greeted me with anything akin to friendliness, let alone a smile. In fact, she has been curt and snippy. Having worked behind a counter for many years, I know it can be taxing to be pleasant all day long, but it certainly isn’t impossible. Particularly if you are a small business owner in clear competition with online sales, and especially if your business is of the hospitality nature, for god’s sake, crack a grin, even if it’s half-​hearted! I have received fantastic service from other staff members, however.
