I love MOM, as this library is known within the Dauphin County Library System. Your membership gives you access to every library in the system, this is absolutely the easiest access library within the city. Riverfront(the one by the police station in downtown) is technically closer to my house, but MOM has abundant off street parking and street parking. The selection of the library proper isn’t huge, but using the DCLS website, you can request any book in the entire system, choose MOM for your pickup and they will bring it there. They use a self-serve pickup system, so when you walk in, walk straight across the library to the tall shelf behind the computers and look for the first three letters of your last name. Register for your library card on the website and they’ll mail it to you or sign up in the library. I’ve set my reading goal for 2016 at 100 books and MOM is a major asset in getting it done.

Due to the fact that the East Shore Area Library( ) is going through construction & has reduced activities I’ve havent been going there that often. The Madeline L. Olewine memomrial Library(MOM) is fairly new, being only about 3 years old, it replaced the uptown library on division street. It has a large child’s book section with toys, puppets and activities. Free internet access, Easy parking too. The Madeline Olewine Library offers the following: 1. Books for Babies @ MOM: a book program for newborns & crawlers. 2. Y.O.U.R. Book Club: an hour of reading & sharing info. 3. Family Movie Night: free movie & popcorn @ the library. 4. Explor-A-Story: my favorite activity at the library, they have a theme(whales, lions, the sea) and have a book to read, as well as activities such as coloring, drawling, singing & listeing to songs.
