On New Year’s Eve my husband and I, along with 4 other couples, experienced our first dinner at Note. When the reservation was made, we were told that there would be limited menu; however we were never advised that the menu would be a fixed price of 75.00. Once we sat for dinner and given the limited menu, we we advised that the 3 course dinner was 75.00 per person. We were quite surprised. I ordered the crab stuffed lobster, my husband the lamb, as did some of the others in our party. The lamb, while tasty, should have been separated prior to serving, as most it was wasted. The lobster, only half the tail, was stuffed with I believe back fin crab or filler which I did not eat. The rest of our party also commented about the lack of quality of the dinner. Needless to say, we were very disappointed for the price of the meal. We paid well over 200.00 our dinner and drinks and left very dissatisfied. We had heard such great things about Note, but at this point hesitant to return based on our dinner. In light of Valentine’s Day approaching, if you revisit the fixed price menu please tell your customers in advance what the price is and I hope that the quality of food is in line with the price. My husband and I have eaten at note 3 separate times with friends. We all thought the food was amazing. Unfortunately, not on New Year’s eve. When we made the reservation, we were told it was a fixed menu, but not a fixed price. The $ 75 charge per person, included three courses. The appetizer of Philo and brie was wonderful. There were two choices for the main course. My husband and three other people in our party had the lamb chop. Very flavorful, but not a decent portion since you could not Cut through the pork completely. I and three others had lobster tail stuffed with crab meat. The lobster was good but we were only given one small tail and the crabmeat was all backfin. Extremely disappointed for $ 150 meal for two people especially when we were not told that when making the reservation.

3.5! Note is a very good restaurant and I would return. The oil and bread was a nice start to the meal. Beet salad was done well, but I’ve seen/had the same salad before. They were nice enough to split the salad into two plates as I was sharing. Pan seared duck breast was well done. It was a tad over cooked. I did like the sweetness of the sweet potato purée and pomegranates. Nice portion size. There was a lull in the service in the latter half of the meal. We waited a while after entrees for any mention of dessert or the check. Nice restaurant.

One of the best meals I’ve had in PA. The pork was world class and Ruth behind the bar was knowledgable and friendly. Portions match the price, too! Quaint, quirky and charming, Note is a great date spot. I’ll definitely be returning!

Holy cow… this place is amazing! Just had the best risotto dish I’ve ever eaten, and that’s saying a lot coming from this nomadic fat man. Group of seven for dinner, seated promptly. Excellent drinks, splendid wine selection(you must admire the penmanship on the chalkboard wall… its impeccable), fantastic food(opinion of all seven of us), great dessert and French-press coffee all in a cozy setting with great jazz playing at exactly the right volume. The sweet tomato soup was delicious as was the frog chili, pork chops were top notch, short rib was superb. You must try the Sensible Tempranillo as it goes well with heavy meat dishes and good friends. We closed the place down and they were kind enough to let us finish our evening of revelry without pressuring us to skedaddle. This place is a jewel of righteousness in a sea of okayness in the Harrisburg dining scene. Go now! Nicely done, Note… very nicely done.

Loved, loved! 3 of us out for dinner. We were not disappointed. I started with the pumpkin ravioli(small plate). I could have easily made a meal out of this alone. It was followed by the pappardelle pasta with wild boar ragu. The meat just fell apart and the sauce was very flavorful. The 3 of us shared the fresh fruit turnover. The pastry was flaky and the presentation was beautiful. Each of us started with one of their specialty cocktails. No one was disappointed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Even with tables close together, I found the acoustics to be good. I will definitely be back.

This was a cute place. Definitely a little fancier place than I tend to eat at so bear that in mind when you read this. They like reservations(we walked in). Loved the location! They switch up their menu by season. I like when restaurants play with my favorite seasonal flavors. The pumpkin ravioli with rabbit was delicious. However the«small plates» are small. Two raviolis were presented to me and my friend. Haha. The wine and service are great even though I think it’s clear that we were out of our league. It’s romantic and lovely. Check it out. Dress up a bit and treat yo’self at Note!

I can’t believe it took me so long to visit, since this is just about 2 miles from my house. From the time we stepped in the door to the time we left, it was a fantastic experience. We took advantage of the aperitivo menu, which you can order from between 4:30 — 6:30 at the bar. We had great service from the bartender. The wine was delicious. We ordered salads which were fresh and flavorful… and just enough dressing. We then ordered the sliders special, which were duck confit — so juicy and the perfect amount. The best thing we had were the frites with parmesan cheese sauce. I could have eaten the whole bowl. I am so glad to find this place, and I look forward to many more visits! One more note re: the atmosphere — it was so warm and comfortable inside the restaurant. Very inviting and charming… felt like I was having dinner at a friend’s house.

Wonderful experience dining with Ruth — owner, bartender, and host. Menu was a great mix of European, American, rustic and delicious! Setting was beautiful and inviting, food/drinks were great! We had escargot, salad, potatoes, scallops and an AMAZING chocolate strawberry crème brûlée. It’s clear the owners put much thought into this restaurant, bravo!

Great find! The restaurant is small but quaint and has a nice seasonal inspired menu. We ordered the cheese board, market salad and grilled romaine salad to start. These all tasted excellent, the entire table enjoyed the market salad, it was refreshing and delicious! I ordered the Paella and wowzers. It was excellent, a 5 star dish! The scallops were cooked PERFECTLY. The entire dish was very flavorful, and the table agreed it was the star of the the night. I would come back JUSTFORTHISDISH. The table also ordered the house made pasta which was good if you are a fan of pesto, and the steak(enjoyable) and the scallops(cooked to perfection). Dessert was enjoyable as well. The wine list is WONDERFUL. Great prices and great choices. My only recommendation! The service and staff were all extremely polite and friendly. I would just have to say; evoke some more confidence on the floor! You work at a cool place in the city, be confident and give that vibe to your table. It will increase the ambiance and desirability to return and be a part of a great scene. I will be back! I am very happy to see Harrisburg’s restaurant scene make a come back.

Came here during restaurant week. We sat at the bar and the bartender was not the friendliest person. We tried to strike a conversation and he just looked too busy to be bothered with small talk. I had the steak and asked for medium rare. I could not chew it. The salmon was very good. Prices are reasonable. The best part was the hostess. She was very accommodating that evening. We have to think twice if we will go back… will definitely not sit at the bar again if it’s the same bartender. There are other places in Harrisburg that has friendlier staff.

Had heard great things but with a med rare steak that i couldn’t cut(not sure if it was the steak or the low quality knife) and the fact that an order of salmon came out nearly raw, not impressed. We eat out in the harrisburg area a lot and will not be back here. Oh and our 8pm reservation… its 9:37 and we’re still eating… because the food is taking forever. Still one more course to go.

What a lovely restaurant, and such excellent food! We sat outside on a beautiful night, a soft breeze blowing, strings of lights overhead, our dog sitting quietly beneath our table. The watermelon gazpacho was a refreshing revelation. The pork chop was the tenderest either of us had ever tasted. The polenta with Parmesan was so delicious. And my escargot were by far the best I’ve ever tasted, again, very tender, while the garlic, cheese & oil were in the just-right proportions. Even the bread and olive oil were scrumptious. We’re from NYC, so we’re used to great restaurants. «Note» is pitch perfect! Thank you Unilocal, for guiding two weary travelers to such culinary delights!

I have been here twice and really loved it both times. The ambiance is nice, the food is wonderful, and so is the wine! I really look forward to coming here when I’m in town, it has become my favorite restaurant in Harrisburg!

Had brunch there, Sunday! All went well with my out of town guests who enjoy their meals! The soups were grand! The water classes are very small, ask for ice and larger ones if you like your water cold! The wait staff was kind and accommodated each special request!

Had brunch here yesterday with my mother. Ordered the special duck confit omelette. Seriously, take me to church! This was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Maybe the best. Still thinking about it.

I was very excited to try this place out after reading so many positive reviews on Unilocal. However my experience was a little sub-par. I liked: the décor and style of the restaurant were very well done, the wait-staff was friendly and quick, the drinks were quite good. I didn’t like: the food — honestly nothing special, flavors were hardly adventurous for the price, and it was served cold and the meat was undercooked; the atmosphere was much too loud and cold(granted we were there on a very cold day in February and they had the heat cranked — still we shivered the whole meal in our coats). Bottom line: very cute and pleasant location, I’d come back for drinks and maybe dessert at a warmer time.

Wow… That pretty much says it. This place is so remarkable. Food is healthy, unique, and outstanding. The cocktails are striking and flavorful. The service is first class but comfortable. Instant favorite.

This place is a block from my house and I finally tried it. The atmosphere is nice and laid back… there is a small dining room and a bar. The food was amazing… I had the mushroom and filet eggroll & the scallop/lardon starters. The scallops were the most perfectly cooked I’ve ever had. For my entrée, I had one of the specials, which was shrimp/chorizo/pasta…it also was great. The service was good and the server was friendly. She didn’t really check on us quite enough though. There were times when we needed new drinks, etc., when we had to wait. I’ll definitely be back.
