Very slow. Very pathetic. Waited 45 minutes for a milkshake! Absolutely no excuse. Not worth the aggravation. Rather go to McDonald’s or another fast food establishment.

Ok, so i think i just had the worst lunch of my life. after waiting in the drive-thru for 15 minutes(with only 2 cars ahead of me), i finally got to the window. The lady yelled my order twice more to the cooks. After waiting another 5 minutes, she opened the window and said«You didn’t get your food yet?» Finally got my food, and here’s what I received: Fanta orange soda — syrup must have been running out because it tasted like seltzer. Jr deluxe cheeseburger– half the bun was wet… presumably from the brown soggy lettuce. Onion rings-terrible. Breading all fell off and rings were luke-warm. Really? Not the first time I’ve received slow service and bad food here. Won’t make that mistake again!

Sometimes its nice to sit outside and enjoy some tater tots. Actually, most of their menu items are really good. Drinks and ice cream included. They come out with new items fairly often and I try to make it a point and try them. Haven’t been disappointed yet, but keep in mind it’s still fast food.

There comes a time in everyone’s life that you have to ask a stranger for help. Last night was one of those times for me. We went for a drive to get a milkshake, we turned the car off and enjoyed a really good milk shake. When I went to start the car as they were closing and my security system malfunctioned again and wouldn’t let me start the car. The manager went out of her way to help us including letting us use her vehicle to jump start it. It isn’t often someone will go out of their way to lend a hand and I really appreciate it.

My mom and I went to the sonic when it just open there PA system stunk because they could not hear you and we Yelled so they should have heard there food was bland the drinks are good, and the servers we ok. If I did go it would just be drinks.

Won’t be going back even though I love Sonic. My husband and I have been to this one twice. Both times, they screwed up our order(which was relatively simple).

so I have been to this location and it was about the same as Ephrata, however this occasion was my worst fast food experience ever. I went through the drive through for a chili cheese dog and cheesy bacon pretzel dog. While in line I get a call from my wife asking me to get something for her. I asked if I could add to my order at the window, but they said they don’t allow that when other cars are behind you in line. That’s fine so I park and order from the board at the patio while we eat our dogs. The order went through fine but two more groups came to order after me –a party of two and a party of three. I watched as three customers left the car hop area to come to the door to find out where their food was. One customer was waiting 20 minutes and the other got half the order. I saw both people that ordered double cheeseburger combo’s after me get served before me. I ordered a simple cheeseburger combo with fries and a coke. The party that order after the doublecheeseburger couple got their popcorn chicken combo and another person received their shake so I spoke up –they acted like they were going to do something because they asked what I ordered. I saw 2 more orders come out so I asked again why they still didn’t have my order ready and they inquired as to what I ordered even though I just told them 10 minutes earlier. I waited 40 minutes for a cheeseburger, fries and a drink… that will never happen again –I understand a lunch rush, but this was ridiculous! I don’t recommend coming here unless the parking lot/car hop area is empty unless you enjoy unusually long waits for substandard food.

I am a regular at this Sonic. This is mainly due to the fact that it is the only Sonic within a two hour window of my home. When it first opened, the service was friendly and efficient. The order was always right. The food was always spot on. Now, the service is spotty. It is often slow. Particularly if you are ordering at a stall. It is often difficult to give the order to the person over the speaker as the person sometimes acts like they cannot mentally process your order. They also often get your order wrong and there are typically two different people that come to your car making you feel sorta pressured to give a tip. The one redeeming quality is the drive thru which typically goes smoothly. I usually do this, at this point, and park in the Giant lot to eat. So because of the drive thru, this place gets 2 stars. Otherwise, it’s a trainwreck.

We’ve now become regulars. Their dollar menu item– junior hamburgers– are delicious– buttered bun, fresh tasting hamburger meat. The workers are there were very helpful with their suggestions. In fact the last two times I’ve been there, they’ve comped me on a couple of items. So the owner/management of this particular location appear to be generous!

My daughter and I stopped in today at lunch time(1200 noon). The drive in area was not crowded and I found out why… No car hops came to their cars! I sat waiting for over 10 minutes and someone reset my call button. In fact, it would not activate when I pushed it again 5 minutes later. I would have at least expected someone to call across the intercom and say that someone would be with me in a minute, nope. After 5 more minutes(20 minutes total) we left, as did several other vehicles. If you want good service, this is not the place. I have eaten at Sonics before and honestly do not think their food is worth waiting for especially not 20+ minutes. If the manager is reading this: do yourself a favor, hire more people that are attentive OR close down.

I’ll admit, when this place first came around, I was excited, but when it turned out to be horrible, I was extremely disappointed. I have thought,(my opinion) that in the past year, this location has bettered itself. The food still comes out slow, but at least now it’s hot and accurate. If you order drinks, they are served fairly quick. I’ll be back, as I have had no other issues now.

I so wanted Sonic to be good that I went back for a third time(months after the first time). I thought it might have been bad, because it was new and they were having growing pains. NOT. The drinks and sundaes are good, but the food is boring and then it isn’t even good. I went this time for the hot dogs after seeing the commercials. I thought hey that Chicago dog looks interesting, one word… YUK. The NewYorker was better, but it tasted like I opened a can of Saurkraut(sp) and put it on a rubber weenie. The onions help it. I also had their breakfast sandwich(sausage egg and cheese on some type of bread). The bread was stale, and the fillings eh’ not here nor there. The tater tots half done not crispy at all. So, if your hungry for fast food go with the regulars. If you would like a cherry lime aide and a banana split try sonic.

We tried Sonic AGAIN to give them the opportunity to impress us. Figuring that 2 out of three might give them a better chance here on Unilocal. We actually went through the drive through twice. The first time for slushies and the second time after picking up my oldest son for supper. The lady at the speaker was as sweet as pie. I ordered a bubble gum slushie and my son had a cherry flavored one. Not impressed with the bubble gum.(Yuck) Not their fault unless they mixed it with something else. The second time we ordered meals. Paid $ 20 for popcorn chicken meal, a wrap meal and mine was the Philly Cheesesteak with onion ring meal. The food was ok, but not something I’d write home to mom about. I was disappointed with the Philly Cheesesteak and I’ll attach a picture to show why. Home of the ‘long bun’ but… «WHERE’S THEBEEF?» LOL! The customer service was good. Food arrived on time and hot. Portion control would be an issue they might need to address.

The biggest problem is consistency. It’s been about 6 months since I’ve been there, and back then they were a bit busier. Our fave thing there was the strawberry fruit slushie — problem, as i said, is consistency. Sometimes they were well made, sometimes there was barely any strawberries, sometimes too many, and sometimes… not even mixed up. just the strawberries sitting on top of a big cup of slushie ice. Hubs usually gets the Coney and is pleased. I usually got the chicken club toaster sandwich — usually it was good but sometimes it was clear it had been sitting awhile, the lettuce was hot. One time I got it and it lacked nearly everything… no tomato, no bacon, no cheese.(I was in drive-thru). I came back around, had to wait bc the people working are slow, and the manager came out. Tall middle-aged black woman. I have never ever had a manager be so RUDE to me, and they were the ones who screwed up! I gave it back and told her it was made wrong, missing half the shit, and she asked what i wanted on it. I said«I’d like it the way it comes on the menu…(duh)» and she got pissed and made me tell her every single topping that I wanted. Personally I don’t think she knew the menu. After that, I never went back.

I was sort of afraid to visit this location after reading the other Unilocal reviews, but we were in the area passing by, so we decided to check it out. Jeff S’s reviews are pretty dead on, So I’m giving this location 2.5 stars. I visited on a saturday afternoon and it was pretty deserted, maybe 3 –4 other cars. Two of the employees were smoking next to the trash dumpster out back. We pulled up, looked at the menu for a few minutes, and then placed our order. In about 10 minutes the carhop brought our food out, it was all accurate. We ordered off the value menu(1.00 items only): an oreo sunday, crispy chicken sandwich, hamburger, small tater-tots. Prices for food and desserts are fair, but for fast food a little high.

Stopped in on my way home from a wedding in the State College area. I was pretty hung over and hungry as all heck. My friend and I shared the loaded tots and they did not disappoint me one bit. You can’t really mess up tater tots with chili and cheese on them. I opted for my old stand by of the burger club sandwich and it was everything I remembered from the last time I was at Sonic. I was a little disappointed in my fries. They weren’t cold or soggy, just really boring. The manager checked in on us, which was surprising for a fast food joint. All in all our experience was a positive one and on my way through the area, I’d stop for another go round.

So I figure, it’s been 4 months since the last review of this place. It’s a nice night out, and there it is beside me while getting gas on my bike, might as well give it a go. For it being 8:15 on a Saturday this place was pretty quiet. There were a total of 4 cars in the bays and 2 in the drive through. I spent a few minutes going over the whole menu to decide what to get. I finally ended on a Chicken sandwich, tots, and a soda. I pressed the button and gave the attentive employee on the other end my order, paid by credit card and then began to wait. The total time from order to food being delivered was 7 minutes. Not too horrible, pretty standard for a burger joint. I can’t say that it would be totally acceptable if this place was touting itself as a straight«Fast Food» joint. Delivery was made by a nice female employee on roller skates who told me how much she liked my bike and confirmed my order with me, everything was correct so I set about eating. My food was fresh, hot, and tasted good, so no negatives on that front. Meanwhile in the 2 bays right next to me, an elderly couple with grand kids and a family of 4 in a minivan had placed their orders and were waiting patiently. Roller-girl game out to the minivan and began handing out the food, it was quickly discovered that the order was wrong, apologies were made and she rolled back in to fix it. 2 minutes later(I was watching the clock) she came back with the correct food and finished the order. 4 minutes after that, the grand kids in the other car were being handed their sundaes but when it came time for grandpa, there was a problem. I couldn’t hear what, only that something wasn’t right. Roller-girl skated away and came back 3 minutes later with the fixed tray. I thought to myself wow. 1 outta 3 correct. I finished my meal and decided to try my hand with a dessert. Pressed the button ordered the meal, didn’t pay with credit card. Now here’s something interesting, a Sonic blast, regular size, is on the menu for 3.19. 8 Minutes later when roller-chick met me, she told me the total of 3.17. I asked her why the 2 cent difference, not that I was complaining. She didn’t really know, and neither, funnily enough, did any of the other 4 employees I asked while I munched down on my frozen treat. After nomnomming it to death I cleaned myself up in their public restroom which was clean and smelled of air freshener. It is a single stall room with a deadbolt for a lock. All in all, my time spent here was good, however I can see and understand how so many people are having bad experiences with food and correctness. 1 out of 3 orders I was witness to were correct. Luckily, it was mine, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that 2 failures still rose to the top. Just A-ok for now.

Stopped for the first time last night after a late soccer game. I was treating my daughter to a shake but she ended up getting a hot dog and real fruit smoothie. I got a malt. Over all I was not impressed. Shake was poor, hot dog was average and the smoothie just ok according to my daughter. Other then the fluff not much in the way of substance.

I saw Jeff’s review and thought I would wait a couple weeks. I’ve been to the one in Lancaster and it was pretty good, though Sonic is more for the novelty than than delicious food. So I went tonight. I knew it was in the new Blue Mountain Commons but didn’t realize it adjoined Giant’s parking lot so much. This was a bit of a drag as Giant was super busy for people using their gas coupons. It’s not set up like the one in Lancaster. We tried ordering in one bay but something looked wrong with the machine. After we pulled in, it did seem the vehicle that was in there before had just moved to another bay. After pressing the button to order twice, we decided to move to another bay. Again, we had to push the button twice to order. The young man on the other side asked us what side we wanted but I heard what«size» we wanted. I’m surprised they don’t suggestive sell tater tots. I asked for Diet Coke and he said they were out of Coke(WTF?). I repeated that I wanted a Diet and he said he thought they had that. So the food came out. The portions did not seem big at all. Good thing I had been snacking earlier. I got the popcorn chicken meal. The pieces of chicken were a bit dry and not very fresh. Also the tater tots were not very hot either. This was at 7 pm and the place was really busy. The drive-thru line had several cars in it from the time we arrived to the time we left. I don’t know how we could have lukewarm food. Rather than complain, we decided to leave. I asked my sister who was along how her bacon cheeseburger and banana shake were. She replied«okay.» Her sandwich wasn’t very hot and her tator tots were warm but not hot. Sonic isn’t particularly close to my house. I don’t think it was worth the trip. I would have been better off getting food at Wendy’s. It would have been hotter, fresher and faster. I would have gotten more for my money.

A really disappointing experience on 12÷28÷09 at the new Harrisburg Sonic. Like many locals, I’ve been seeing the Sonic commercials on TV for years and I was excited to learn that one was opening up in Harrisburg. We arrived a little after 8pm on a Monday and the place was packed. It took nearly an hour for our food to be delivered, and when it was, it was not only wrong, it was undercooked. The tater tots were actually still cold on the inside. After talking to the manager, our order was corrected and he brought us the right sandwiches, but this time with french fries, which is not what we ordered and they were cold, limp and greasy. I think the Harrisburg Sonic needs to find its groove, I’ve heard good things about other Sonic restaurants and I want to think it’s just a matter of time until the local store gets the kinks worked out. Until then, avoid at all costs.
