Definitely a whole in the wall kind of place. My boyfriend who is from El Salvador and I stopped here on our way back from a trip, I just picked the place out based off of Unilocal reviews. The inside definitely needs some work and the outside looks sketch but I was hopeful even though my boyfriend basically said this place looks like it won’t be good. Probably because of the area, he probably didn’t want me to be around… Anyways my tacos were good, I felt like it was a tad under seasoned, I didn’t get any limes with my tacos or avocado which is one thing that disappointed me. My boyfriend got two tacos and a quesadilla and he had one lime and pieces of avocado so I took that and used them. Plus a tad bit of salt and they were good. I decided that I like them much better with some hot sauce because I wanted them to have a kick. I left happy with my food and I believe my boyfriend was happy as well. Very friendly woman who took our order :)

Wow! Wow! Wow! This place is everything you want and everything you don’t! The food is INCREDIBLE! The restaurant/store/gambling hall is pretty terrifying! SCREWIT! The food is worth it! Barbacoa beef on point, chorizo really good but the al pastor oh my goodness! Also got a medium quesadilla was a huge portion and included salad, grilled onions, tomatoes & avocado. Plus I’ve never seen a salsa bar but it was awesome! All 4 salsas I tried we great but really loved the avocado salsa! Now I need to find excuses to go to Harrisburg!

Best tacos in Harrisburg. God do I love there sauces. They all taste really good but little spicy but I don’t mix eating spicy food so doesn’t bother me. The prices are amazing. The place is pretty clean and the food is prepared pretty fast. It’s a family owned places and all the workers re always helpful.

This Mexican hole-in-the wall taqueria is all the way down in Allison Hill, but the juicy barbacoa tacos were almost life-changing. The shredded marinated beef was tender and generously stuffed in the warmed corn tortilla, accompanied by a handful of diced white onions and a lime. There is also a hidden salsa bar by the front counter, stocked with different fresh salsas and vegetables, such as radicchio, red onions, and sliced limes. However, if you’re risking your life by venturing into this neck of the dark woods, don’t even bother with the carnitas(dripping in pig fat), chorizo(charred black AND dripping in pig fat), or pollo(dry). Order the barbacoa tacos and politely find a seat in the back corner, away from the wannabe vaqueros gambling on the slot machines.

I love Tacos Mi Tierra so much. The tacos are awesome, and you can’t beat the price. The people who work there are friendly and overly patient with my rusty Spanish. It’s one of my top 5 things I miss about living in Harrisburg!

Nice small restaurant also selling grocery items, serving authentic Mexican food in Allison Hill. Plenty of street parking when I was there. Prices are reasonable– 1.50 per taco.

I’ve driven by this place so many times and always wondered what it was like. After reading the great reviews, I decided to finally try it. I got the chicken tacos, rice and beans, and a side of guacamole. The tacos were awesome! The rice was pretty good, but the beans were VERY salty! The guacamole was too spicy for my taste, but would be fine for people that like spicy. It was definitely worth it for the tacos. I appreciate the fact that you can get alot of food and not have it cost a fortune! thank you! I’ll go back again for sure!

Great tacos are sometimes hard to find, and sometimes you have to travel to unfamiliar less glamorous areas to get authentic foods. You will not be disappointed with the pork tacos $ 1.50 each). The pork was tender and well spiced with just the right amount of crispness from the flat top. The corn tortillas were fresh and the green chile sauce had just the right heat for my taste. I had the beef tacos as well, the beef was thinly sliced and finished on the flat top as well. They offer onions and cilantro or lettuce tomato and sour cream. I also had rice and beans($ 1.75), a generous portion. The counter man was friendly and patient as read the menu, one side in Spanish and lucky for me the other side in English. Although this place could truly be called a dive because of the location and no frills atmosphere, it is the food and the nice service that will bring me back..

It’s a tiny place in a shady area, but I like that about it. Food is great and the prices are very reasonable. Try any of the tacos, my absolute favorite is the chorizo taco.

Good menu. Great food. Service is ok, few speak English. Shady neighborhood. Lunch option only unless you are local.

Decent little Mexican place in the Allison Hill section of Harrisburg. It is located on Derry Street in a blue & red building with two satellite dishes(see exterior photo). The restaurant itself had a few tables, a frozen ice cream box, video chance games, a huge rack of phone cards and several pictures decorating the walls. Most of the pictures depicted scenes from mexico, such as poncho villa, zapata, rural life, cows, etc… one of the walls was covered in mirrors and had a sombrero hanging on it. They have standard tacos at 1.50 apiece, chicken, beef or pork. We tried several of them. There was also a Torta for 5.50 that was pretty decent. There was some type of hot sauce(Valentina brand) here that that we put on it made it significantly better. The helado de fresa or strawberry ice cream($ 1.50) balanced it out. We also had the Bistek Ranchero: it came with 6 yellow corn tortillas, onions, cilantro, beans, rice & lots of beef, mixed with red pepper. That cost 8.50, pretty decent if you ask me. What makes this place stand out in my opinion is the«tostada ceviche de camaron«or lime marinaded seafood salad on a deep fried corn tortilla. This item is occasionally also available at competitors but not nearly as good. 5 Stars, incredible food!
