Mike S. at Inside Track solved 20 years of running sneaker issues for me in 10 minutes. This is simply best place to buy running shoes in the North East!

Heard great things about this place and was very disappointed. Just started running again to lose some weight and feel better. While the gentleman was rather nice and seemed like he knew his stuff, I hate the running shoes I was«sold». I say«sold» because that’s what happened. I tried on a couple different pairs, none of which I really loved. The pair I hated the least ended up coming home with me because I was assured that the adidas I had been running in were terrible for my flat feet(they’re not flat, i have fallen arches, similar but not the same) and the $ 110 Brooks that were sold to me would be so much better for my feet. I had heard that Brooks were supposed to be some of the best so I allowed myself to be talked into buying them. I wore them for 20 miles and simply cannot wear them anymore. I hate them. I bought another pair of my old adidas online and I am so much happier. I will say that it was my own fault for being talked into buying shoes that I didn’t like but I knew I needed shoes immediately and there weren’t any other stores nearby. Also, while the polite gentleman was helping me, he was helping two other people in the store(only one working?) and jawing with what appeared to be a regular customer. A little tough to actually listen to someone when that distracted. Luckily, I didn’t listen to his recommendation for insoles for my hockey skates. He assured me that my feet were too flat for the yellow superfeet I was looking at. I tried to explain that I had fallen arches, not flat feet. He darted a doubting glance my way. I chose to agree with my podiatrist and got the insoles with serious arch support. Skates are awesome now. No thanks to the Inside Track.

Absolutely the best shoe store within 100 miles. I have been there 3 times now, once for my wife(an Asics nut), and twice for myself. I’m not your average runner… I am 6’4″ and about 320 lbs. Still, I put on about 15 – 20 miles a week. Despite not fitting into the«hardcore runner» category, these guys still treat me with the respect I expect when dishing out $ 120 – 150 for a good pair of running shoes. Despite being a small store, they have tons of inventory and are comparable in price to the big chain stores. Usually, most«runner’s» stores tend to be pricey(like Rapid Transit in State College), because you are paying a premium for the attention. These folks do this for free. I would recommend this store to anyone… from the first-timer to the NYC Marathon runner. It usually takes me 30 – 45 minutes to find shoes, and it’s worth the time spent here.

Went in to buy a pair of running shoes, as a beginner runner. Salesperson Matt was great. Watched my stride, had me try on numerous pairs till I found the perfect pair. They didn’t have my size so he brought them up to me today from another branch. Can’t wait to try out my new shoes. Great customer service.

Stopped by on a slow December Saturday and received excellent service. Started with a review of stride and running style and ended with both my son and I very happy with our new Asics’. Well informed and polite staff.

Great store. Any running item you need can be found here. It’s important with running to find the right shoe and Henry and the guys at Inside Track will make sure you’ll get the right shoe for the training and body type you have. They have a great selection of shoes and other running gear and if for someone reason they might not have it, they’ll order it quickly. The guys who work there are all very seasoned runners(and good ones) who will have advice on shoes and other areas of runners. It doesn’t matter what type of runner you are either, Inside Track is great for all runners. The veteran marathoner or the occasional 5k runner and everything in between.

I heard a lot about this store, and I thought I would finally go and check it out myself. Convenient location, just off of route 322, in the shopping plaza. The store is on the small side, but they have a lot of inventory. The store is mostly focused on outfitting runners… shoes, shorts, shirts, etc.(They also have a stand of information inside the door about upcoming local races). Overall, it appeared like a good place to get a pair of running shoes and probably some good running advice. The staff look like runners themselves, and from overhearing the sales person next to me, he knew what he was talking about when it came to good shoes. They were even having customers go outside and run up and down the sidewalk to see if the shoes felt right. The longer I was there, the more I liked the place. Except for the fact that I was never waited on. I stood in front of the shoes for 20 minutes while the sales people helped other customers; I thought they were just busy. But then I realized that they were helping folks who came in after me… most of the customers appeared to be high school age-track or cross country runners(and lets just say I’m past high school age). I waited a little while longer and finally just approached the person behind the cash register. He seemed like he was not at all interested in helping me, and just sort of stood there while I pointed out which shoes I liked. I thought he might offer some other choices, or ask some questions about what I was looking for, but all I got was a half-hearted effort to find one pair that were in my size(he said they did not carry five different styles of shoe that I liked in my size, which is an 8; either it is that common and they were sold out or they do not have the inventory I thought they did). When he did not return to see how I was doing, I just left. I was very disappointed… I had heard about how great the staff are at helping you find a great pair of running shoes, but it seems here that«one store does not serve all». Not sure if I’ll try again, even though I really liked their selection(they had an ok-sized selection of shoes; prices were what I would consider reasonable for good shoes).
