Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. At every point of stay it was terrible. At check in the clerk said they didn’t take best Western rewards card. At checkout after being told my room would be comped in some way. The bill I signed to leave was for $ 74 and two months later I received a letter from a bill collector for this establishment for $ 170. After getting a lawyer and winning the small courts claim because I kept my receipt from the stay. I am an 84 year old WWII veteran and grandfather and just don’t need any of this hassle.

I have stayed at this subpar hotel numerous times for work and pleasure. I had a horrible stay everytime I have came into town. First off the place looks nice but I had the their best vip and was woke up by the breakfast cook banging around the kitchen in the morning. I finally asked to be moved on my second night and was to the third floor that overlooked a horrible back patio thing that looks nothing like the pictures. So I went to the pool to relax and the pool room is absolutely pathetic the heat didn’t even work. On day three I had a two other reservations coming in. One of them had gotten a room with fleas and the other was turned away because of over booking. The hallway floor on the third floor creek and sink as you walk on it, like you could fall through at any time. It’s actually pretty scary to walk on. The sheets and towels didn’t match and were dingy in color. Next time I’m in harrison, I’m just going to stay at the Super 8. Where I know I will get what I pay for.

So booked a reservation about a week prior to our stay. We needed rooms for a small group that was visiting the Creation Museum this weekend. We booked a few Queen Rooms(Double Beds) for Friday-Saturday. All was said to be fine, we gave them the credit card number to hold our reservation. Well arriving at the hotel we were greeted with a friendly staff however, they could not locate our reservation. After a few minutes they realized whoever put in our reservation, put in for the wrong days. Well 15 people in the lobby no where to go as all rooms were booked! We called over 20 hotels literally feeling like Mary and Joseph as there was no room anywhere. The staff was friendly in helping us call various hotels until we finally found one. But for a hotel to make such a mistake with a group of kids driving hours to get here just be told an error was made so we have no rooms, is uncalled for. If this other hotel would have not had rooms we would have to book over an hour away from our destination. I know we are all human mistakes happen. PLEASE be sure to quadruple check your reservation before hanging up and call again the day before to make sure it’s correct so you don’t end up homeless.

We came for memorial day weekend, and we expected it to be busy &crowded. What we didn’t expect was the staff to be totally unprepared for the crowd & demands. First, we rented the only VIP room. We arrived to an old used wash cloth in the bathroom, dingy linen, and the sofa bed with the prior renters linen still in it. The guy at front desk handled it but didn’t seem to be a big deal to him. The next morning, I had to ask to have my room serviced, in which she replied«what do you need done, cause I only work for another 30 minutes». Seriously, I’m not making this up! The breakfast was decent, but because it was super crowded for holiday weekend I the 1 person making food could not keep up with demand & resulted in the food stations being messy, which in turn made me decide to not eat the free breakfast. The overall hotel is new, so the appearance of room is good, however, the VIP room could use a bit more furniture(huge empty space that we ended up using as a dance floor for the kids). To finally end it, the hotel charged our credit card several times, which resulted in me getting overdraft charges… I’ll update this post once I speak with manager, cause I’m hoping they will offset my OD charges. If management doesn’t get a handle on service & quality this establishment will be like side road hotel.

We came to stay a couple of nights and visit the nearby Creation Museum. Prices were good, help very friendly and all the rooms were newly updated. Location was just off the main road and easy to find. As a vegetarian, the breakfast was limited and less than stellar, with waffles, scrambled eggs, dry cereal, instant oatmeal, Danish, muffins or bread, limited fruit, fried sausages, but no potatoes. Seating was very limited for the amount of people eating – standing room only with a long line at the waffle station. Parking lot was small with the hotel located between a Home Depot and Tractor Supply. Walking distance to a Chipotle, Bob Evens, Buffalo Wings, Cracker Barrel, frozen yogurt place, and other shops. Even with all this, the night was very quiet for sleeping.
