Chang An Restaurant

Lunch Buffet was excellent! Pepper chicken was very good. Shrimp lo mein was the only seafood. Mostly chicken choices: pepper chicken, general tso, fried chicken, chicken n broccoli. No pork which is great for me. Except for dumplings… that may be pork. Potato was amazing. Not expensive either. One of my fav Chinese food spots.

The past 2 times I ordered for delivery, it got here in EXACTLY 12 minutes. nice and hot. Try the rangoons. Loyal customer.

For the last two years we’ve been eating at Nino’s Pizza every once in a while… which is in the same strip mall as Chang-​An. Today I forgot lunch and my co-​worker wanted Nino’s so I went along for the ride even though I didn’t want pizza (wait, huh? Did I say that?). When we parked I stuck my head into Chang-​An for the first time and I’m really glad I did.
This tiny little strip mall take out joint was empty when I walked in, and one of the guys was actually finishing up his own lunch. I figured if this cook is willing to eat his own food here, then so am I. They have a little mini buffet set up for lunch or you can order from their menu… I chose the buffet today. It wasn’t anything fancy, maybe 12 items… mostly your basics-​lo mein, fried rice, chicken with broccoli, orange chicken, dumplings, etc. You get the point. I didn’t have high expectations, but I was starving so when I got back to the office and started eating I was very pleasantly surprised. The food wasn’t spectacular, but it was tasty, leaning towards ‘quite yummy’. In case you’re wondering that’s a proper food critic term. I tried almost everything they had out, except the fried rice… they add peas-​and I simply don’t eat peas… ever.
Besides the food here being pretty damn good, it’s also pretty damn cheap. My lunch was $ 6.75 and my container was full. Te only bummer was they didn’t have egg rolls on the buffet, but I survived. I’m pretty sure I had plenty without the fried rolls of tastiness. Thank you Chang-An…I will definitely be back! Only getting three stars for now (3.5)…I’ll reconsider after my next visit.
