Dunkin’ Donuts

Convenient location with parking. They are usually well stocked with all the variety of donuts. Service is quick but not the most friendly. The place smells of donuts and hot sandwiches so one would expect the smells to linger on you for a bit…

This DD is a nightmare in the morning. It’s ALWAYS backed up, even when there’s just one other person in line. From what I can gather, the one man is always there running around on his own (he’s not that quick, but to be fair, he is frequently overwhelmed), while the other guy waltzes in 20 minutes late after a line of 1 became 7. There was a new person working last week and I was so happy until she took my order. She didn’t look at me the entire time, seemed confused by the register, and punched in a completely different order than I told her. AND the guy who was listening to me order and prepared it followed the receipt instead! I wish this wasn’t the only DD on my way to work and it’s just another reason why I can’t wait to leave Harrison.

The decaf I got was cold and tasted like it had been sitting around all day. It was actually thick in my mouth and I almost spit it out. Completely undrinkable and disgusting. You’re not supposed to serve coffee to people that’s been sitting out for too long.

You know what is SUPPOSED to be great about a chain like Dunkin Donuts or McDonald’s or Wendy’s? There is SUPPOSED to be consistency from store to store to store.
Guess what? THIS Dunkin Donuts is definitely the exception to that rule… and not in a good way.
Donuts? Oftentimes they are stale and picked through, even early in the day. Coffee is never, and I mean NEVER, as good as my local DD in Parsippany or the one over in Gateway near Newark Penn Station. Parking lot… forget about it unless you have a Smart Car. Getting into and out of the lot is hairy at best, and the lot size is pretty tiny, so if there is a big vehicle in there… you’re screwed. And the service… never service with a smile-​the people working here are more interested in speaking to each other in their own language than speaking to the patrons and they NEVER seem happy.
Overall, I ONLY go here as a last resort when I’m desperate for coffee.

I hate that they never have my favorite blueberry bagels here, but the staff members are very friendly so that makes it better when I have to settle for a toasted sesame bagel with strawberry cream cheese instead (really good combo, btw).
I saw recently that they now have the K-​cup servings (for Keurig coffee-​makers) as well as the loose ground coffee, will have to give ‘em a try next time.
