Camped here for one night(Sat). Friendly staff & the camp ground is well maintained. There are bathrooms/showers at the office & a uni-sex bathroom at the opposite end of the park. I was shocked to see how clean the bathrooms were! Someone(the owner) is usually in the office– independently owned. There are cabins scattered around & spots in the middle for RVs. We used a tent site. There’s not a lot of space between sites and many of them are in between the RVers & the road. I prefer a site more private. We were able to get one that backed up to the woods. No minimum stay like some campgrounds. $ 22 + tax a night for a site with electricity. Also had a wooden shabby picnic table & fire pit(no grill or your own water). Instead of dirt, there’s small rocks(pebbles I guess) on the ground at most sites & the less private ones have grass. They do sell bundles of wood on-site for $ 5. Campground close to the Buffalo River Trail & close to Jasper. There’s a convenience store & liquor store right across the street. Mystic Caverns is also in very close proximity(take Hwy 7 South).

The Shady Oaks is a rare find for RV’rs and campers alike. This campground has over 50 sites with full hookups and up to 50AMP service as well as cable TV connections and more than adequate WiFi access. There is a well maintained pool for Summer, and laundry facilities that are fairly priced. The sites have spacious green space between the sites and the entire property is dotted with beautiful mature oak trees that offer shade during the hot days of Summer and a nice wind break on inclimate weather days. Pet-friendly and Motorcyclist friendly! There are also cabins available to rent that come complete with bedding and, in the larger cabin, full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and silverware.
