If is one of the best places to go get ice cream. They always have a new flavor of the week. Currently it’s banana. BBBEEESSSTTTPPPLLLAAACCCEEEEEEVVVEEERRR.

Very interesting to have custard-type ice cream! Glad I tried it and would happily go back and send others there. This feels like a great place to have around for those long summer nights. The single dip in a waffle cone is HUGE, so no need to get a double. Note, though, that the«dip» is a misnomer. It’s not dipped in anything, it’s just a scoop. So it’s a large scoop.

This is the best custard I’ve ever had. Limited on flavors but that’s OK since I love the mix of vanilla and chocolate. Every time we visit James Madison it’s a must that I stop here for their custard

Awesome soft serve but get it in a cup on hot days… very hard to catch when it slides off the cone.

I thought this was custard, but instead its just soft serve. Very bland and expensive for what it is. I’d rather have a $ 1 cone or sundae from McDonald’s.

Generous servings, pleasant staff, outdoor service, and plenty of outdoor seating. I chose a tall non-dairy smoothie with pineapple-coconut and mango mix. My wife got a single dip chocolate waffle cone and it was quite enough to eat. $ 10 for what we ordered. The place adjoins a Subway. The parking lot has some serious holes, so watch your alignment.

Klines is a Harrisonburg institution! This is the alternate location to the downtown one, and offers a different flavor of the day. Klines ice cream is delicious, the«dips»(what they call scoops) are generous and it’s always a crowdpleaser! Klines was a stop on many a night back in my college days, and on my recent trip back to visit my alma mater it was at the top of my list of places to go! They always offer chocolate and vanilla, as well as a third flavor of the day, and then the ability to make various flavors of shakes and sundaes and whatnot. Chocolate chip cookie dough was the name of the game this time around and it seriously hit the spot! Bring your dogs by for a doggie bowl consisting of plain vanilla ice cream and a dog biscuit on a hot day for an extra special treat!

Awesome custard ice cream! Flavor of the week is lemon Gingersnap which sounded a bit odd. Got it and now it’s my favorite! Of course whatever the flavor changes to next week will be my favorite I bet!!! ;)

We stopped here for milkshakes, only to find that they had 4 – 5 flavors, and that was it. My banana shake was ok, but the cashier was more interested in slamming her window shut than bothering to ask me if I wanted a receipt, or giving me one. Very short and to the point — not exactly what I expected. Add that to the fact that a Cookout milkshake puts their shakes to shame, and we won’t be back for more…

Love it! Pulled over because we were craving ice cream. Turns out this is a local frozen custard joint. It’s hard to miss when you see a giant ice cream cone off of main street. They don’t have a huge variety in flavors, but the vanilla and chocolate custard flavors that they do have were smooth and creamy and could satisfy any ice cream craving. The girls in the shack were very nice. They were also nice enough to direct us to a Dairy Queen for my friend who could not eat custard. Will gladly look for Kline’s again the next time I am on the road over here!
