I had the Skirt Steak which wasn’t that great but rice and beans were on point, the Mofongo was good. For a place that is open for lunch and dinner I found it odd they had run out of roasted chicken right at the dinner rush .In the same breath they also didn’t have enough salsa for the Mofongo. The fried pork was very well seasoned and not super salty. My only complaint was service was lacking as they had 1 waitress for about 35 people so expect to wait regardless. Still worth going as again the food was good.

My coworkers were heading to lunch here so I decided to join them. We called our order ahead even though we were eating in just to get the most out of our lunch break. They have lunch specials starting from $ 5.99 for a meat, rice and beans! I ordered the Shrimp mofongo. My coworkers ordered the garlic chicken lunch special and the grilled chicken lunch special. Since we ordered ahead but told them we would be eating in at the bar they had our food out waiting for us which I thought was nice. One coworker decided to join us later so he didn’t order ahead. His food took about 15 minutes which isn’t too bad. Everyone enjoyed their food down to the last drop. My mofongo was the best I’ve had since my trip to Puerto Rico! Since we were sitting at the bar I noticed they have a full bar with lots of top shelf options to choose from. We didn’t indulge in any drinks but the prices looked great from $ 4 house(Barefoot brand) wines and $ 6 margaritas. Our bellies were satisfied and our water glasses stayed full, all in all a good experience!

This place is the best place in Hartford. They have great food, the best drinks and the friendliest staff I’ve ever met. It’s like the Spanish cheers. It’s a great place to go for dinner or just to grab a drink. They treat you like family and there isn’t a better place in the area to go.

I was really hoping my food would be amazing but unfortunately they went overboard with the sodium in my skirt steak(churrasco). I mean if you’re ok with having high blood pressure then go for it. Disappointed :-/

I truly loved coming here the drinks are good, and the food is good as well. BUT I must say I was truly shocked at the lack of professionalism. I was planning on booking a party. I spoke to the woman in charge and explained what I was looking for at my event. She then told me she would put together packages for me and email them to me. Here I am two weeks and five messages later and NOTONEPHONECALL or email. Needless to say my money wasn’t wanted so I won’t be returning!

First and second time was outstanding. My 3rd and 4th time not so much. Service is always kind of slow since they only have one person to take care the restaurant side and if they have a big party of people it will take some time to get Food but it’s worth it. Thursday martinis for $ 4 is not bad at all

I always enjoy my experience when I come to the restaurant. It’s an authentic spanish restaurant with great food. They give you personalized attention and service. They have special happy hour drinks all day at great prices. Their meals are also decently priced. On Friday and Saturday nights they have a DJ that plays a variety of music and also show football games, what more can you want?!?

It is usually packed in there but the mofongo is on point and one of the few places in the south end with good food. The service is good too.

Not my typical hole in the wall Spanish spot. This is more fancy Puerto Rican food than it is Abuela in the kitchen type of spot. I went in just after 2pm and the place was empty. I had the Bistec which is usually cubes beef in a red sauce. Their version is a beef patty covered in onions and green peppers in a red sauce. Again more dressy presentation than spice and substance.

I guess it was good for Hartford. I’m used to Spanish food in NYC. It just seemed under seasoned, but it was still money well spend.

Andrea’s is a fairly new restaurant located in Hartford’s «Little Italy»(in the building that formerly housed Sorrentos). They specialize in Puerto Rican cuisine. The staff was friendly for the the most part, we were greeted immediately upon entering. However, once seated, the service was very very slow. I’m talking molasses here. After we ordered, the salads were delivered maybe 10 minutes later, about 15 – 20 minutes after that we finally received our appetizer. Less than 5 minutes into the appetizer, our food arrived. With that said, we were happy with the quality of the food. The calamari was slightly overseasoned, but they were still tender. The arroz was cooked perfectly. The chuletas fritas had a crispy and well seasoned outer layer, and were still juicy and tender on the the inside. My boyfriend seemed to have no complaints about the pernil, as he ate ¾ of it in less than 10 minutes. I understand that it is a small and new restaurant, and they may have staffing issues right now, but if we decide to go back, it will definitely be on a take-out basis.
