Denny’s

I’ve been coming here in the wee hours on a weekly basis for the past year to do writing with an unlimited coffee supply. The waitstaff are chill, yet professional, despite having to deal with a lot of terrible customers who are drunk coming in from the bar rush and don’t leave tips (and even some dine-​and-​dashers). Sometimes they give me an extra pancake puppy.
I’ve seen some fistfights break out between customers, which has made great up-​close entertainment with my meal, provided by the customers free of charge.

Came here with a group of 10. We came at a lull time so there were many tables available but still, we had to wait 20 minutes. When it came time to order drinks, many in our party wanted to order specialty drinks that were highlighted on the menu. They didn’t have ANY of them. Our group were mostly people who didn’t speak English so there were some people interpreting. The waitress seemed visibly impatient. The food that came was sub par at best. I ordered a water that was given to me at the very end of my meal. I ordered coffee and practically had to chase someone down for refill and again for some cream. I’ll never come here again. Slow service, poor attitudes and lousy food… this Denny’s is not worth the stop.

Worst place I’ve ever ate in my life!!! Went there with my sister-​in-​law nobody asked us to take our drinks order. We waited half hour for our orders to be taken a half hour to get our food we waited altogether and hour before we can eat. By then it was so loud and people was rude and the waitress was not friendly to us, it was a chaos some people left without even playing. Another guy was screaming profanity behind us nobody told him to stop. It was an absolute madhouse, I will never go there again.

Great staff and management. The GM was a superstar! The food was at par to what is expected from a Dennys. Enjoyed myself and was surprised by how things have changed for the better since the last time I ate at a Denny’s over 10 years ago.

The downfall of the American society. Not really sure what I can say to paint a perfect picture of this restaurant. Almost all Denny’s food come out looking like they just thawed it from a freezer and put it in a microwave. Not here, looks more like they went an extra step and took the left overs from the next table that did not finish. I have the upmost respect for people who are in the service industry. Can you sound anymore condescending or rude while taking our order? Bathrooms look like they came from a third world country and smells like sewage.

My friends and I visited this Denny’s around 2 in the morning after searching for a diner to eat at after a night out.
Pros:
The pancake puppies were delicious
Due to the poor service they gave me a free cupcake cup and didn’t charge us for one of the meals we ordered (it was completely wrong and ice cold but that’s beside the point)
Cheap food and it’s open late
Cons:
The hostess ignored us completely when we first walked in so we eventually had to seat ourselves
No matter the time of day the service is extremely slow even if the restaurant is almost empty
Our server was forgetful and brought us ice cold food or forgot some items

Sat at the counter, was waited on immediately. Service was very good, and the food was hot, very filing and good.

I’ll keep it short & sweet. My fiancé & I waited here for 20min without even being greeted by our waiter. Nobody asked if we needed help or anything. So we got up, walked out & by the way no staff members were around to even notice we were leaving! Now Im at the Denny’s in Wethersfield (few min away) where we have already received our food (in10 min!) Never again!

This Denny’s replaced the Japanese/​Chinese buffet joint and opened up shortly before the bridge finished. Parking is plentiful and it looks like a completely new building. I could be wrong! H and I decided to wait a few months before coming here because it aaaaalways looks packed. We were here a few Sundays ago and it was still packed, but we were starving and wanted brunch.
It was just the two of us and after waiting 25 minutes, we were seated uncomfortably by the waiting area. By uncomfortable, I mean there were children waiting in the waiting area who hunched over the partition and stared at us while H and I ate, some children even leaned ON my H. Also, there were herds of children screaming and running around our side of the restaurant… Where were their parents? Ugh. I digress.
The upside to this our waitress– I think her name was Tamara. She was amazing and took care of us, possibly sensing our annoyance (not with her, but with the influx of children). She made sure to ask us for refills and whether or not we enjoyed her concoction of lemonades (by the way, they were tasty and some of the best I’ve had). My lumberjack meal was not memorable… my pancake tasted rubbery. H said his Grand Slamwich was meh. All in all, our food was meh, but our waitress was amazing. Ask for Tamara!

I went there this morning, after 40 mins our food wasn’t out. I had to walk up front to check on the order. Finally it came out, my toast was missing and my wife’s scrambled eggs without cheese, had extra cheese. No waiter came so I had to go to the front again and ask some lady for my toast, she said they will bring it out to me. After asking for my toast 3 more times I gave up I wanted out. Oh… and they gave me coffee with no cream. I decided to take my leftovers up front for a to go box, and for someone to get me a receipt. I will not be returning here.

I walked in ready to order, but sat for 5 minutes before someone took my order. After my order was taken, I waited for my coffee, but it never came and I was sitting at the counter. I walked out and will likely not return, terrible service.

The wait staff is rude, slow, overcharge for meals. I will never return to this Denny’s — The management should be ashamed.
A friend and I went in on a slow Saturday afternoon, probably about 10 customers in the entire place — There had to be at least 20 people working. We ordered the endless pancakes and a few sides. After talking for about 40 minutes without getting any drinks or food — we got up to leave, it was just taking too long. As soon as we got up our waitress ran to the drink machine and filled up two waters and asked us to sit down and that our food would be right out. We waited another 30 minutes for 2 stacks of pancakes… an hour and 10 minutes total… We never got our sides and really didn’t feel like waiting another 30 minutes for another set of pancakes. After our waitress came to take our plates she said the next round of pancakes was coming out now, we told her to pack them as we were already fed up — She did and handed us our bill. THE BILL HAD CHARGED US FOR THE SIDES WE NEVER GOT, DRINKS WE NEVER GOT, THE ALL YOU CAN EAT PANCAKES AS WELL AS TWO ADDITIONAL STACKS OF PANCAKES
So overall what we got were 2 shortstacks (2 pancakes each) — menu price $ 4 total
What we were charged was the all you can eat pancake price, $ 8 + the $ 4 for the «packed» pancakes + $ 10 in sides and drinks that we never got.
The bill was $ 25, We got to eat 2 pancakes each…
This place is bad bad bad bad — Take a ride down to the denny’s in rocky hill and avoid this place at all costs or your stomach and wallet will be hurting.
To top it all off, when we went to pay we told the cashier about the bill and she responded with «Well did you order these? If you ordered them we have to charge you» — When asked to leave a tip (being good people we actually decided to leave a tip, I have no idea why), the cashier seemed shocked that we were only leaving a $ 3 tip and responded very loudly with «$ 3, are you sure that’s all?»
This is the end of my Denny’s review for this location, it sucks, stay away, the managers of this place should be ashamed. I enjoy Denny’s, my girlfriend and I go to the Rocky Hill Location and it is always excellent– The Flatbush location is crap.

They just opened so i’ll be easy. Long story short it was extremely packed, seemed like everyone wanted to try it since it’s new to the area. I recommend if you go on Saturday morning (like I did) go really early to avoid the rush or early afternoon after the crowd dies down. Our waitress took our orders almost immediately after being seated. My mother and I received our drinks and waited patiently for our breakfast. The breakfast came within 10 minutes but my order was incorrect. The manager had the kitchen correct the mistake and he also gave me a card for a free meal and beverage for my next visit. Overall it was very busy, the wait staff was fumbling a bit (I did see a lot or returned food orders) but the staff was pleasant and attentive. Hopefully they get it together.
