Charming little shop — Gus has been around for about 30 years in the city and his shop is a great little establishment! Gus is a skilled tailor whom I would trust with any of my clothes.

Gus is wonderful, cordial and professional all at the same time. Just dropped off some clothes for alteration and I definitely recommend him.

Charming man who always does a great job with tailoring. Extremely quick turnaround time too. You have to be confident finding his shop, because it’s up a rickety elevator in a half-​empty building, but it’s worth it.

Gus is the best!!! Worked with his spouse for years and had no clue she was keeping his tailoring skills a secret. Another co-​worker mentioned going to him to fix a skirt and I tried him out and love, love, love him! I will never go anywhere else unless he quits the business! He’s amazing and can alter anything! He is also very friendly and personable.

Nice work Gus! Made me feel like a long-​time customers. Ultra attentive and was willing to help with a delivery because I was headed into surgery. Very reasonable as well.

I recently bought a nice wool jacket but it needed to be altered because the sleeves were too short. It’s a designer military style pea coat with lots of zippers and fancy stitching and buttons. I brought it to French cleaners in West Hartford who have done some good alterations for me in the past but their turn around time was ridiculous and a bit pricey. So I turned to Unilocal and found Gus.
Not only did he fix the sleeves perfectly and consistently with the rest of the jacket. He did it in ONE DAY and for half the price French Cleaners was going to charge me. He is amazing!!!
His office is little hard to find as your can’t see the sign from the street. But just look for 57 Pratt and he is upstairs on the 3^rd floor. Also parking is difficult to find in that area, being that it’s downtown and on a one-​way street. I had to drive around twice to get a spot, and still had to do a little walking.
But Gus is definitely worth the effort. Like the last guy said his office is really small and disheveled but his level of craftsmanship is phenomenal, he did an awesome job with the zipper on the sleeve. I LOVE MY COAT. I have found my new regular tailor. I recommend him 150%.

Tucked away on arguably the only street worth walking in downtown Hartford, Mr Fas’s tailor shop is tiny and disheveled.
And you shouldn’t care, because here is tailoring at it’s finest. Gus took his time with me, went out of his way to remember my name, and produced fantastic results.
I cannot recommend his services highly enough.

I have taken countless items to him to be altered and his work is excellent. Gus offers what I feel is «old fashioned» service. He remembers your name, and greets you with a fantastic smile every time you walk through his door.
When you try your garments on, he offers suggestions about length and fit, but in a wonderfully unobtrusive way. He’ll talk with you about where you’re wearing the item, and what with, to be sure that the alterations will work for you.
His shop is very small, and in an old building with a tiny elevator. It’s not glamorous by a long shot. He only takes cash and checks. Those things don’t matter to me a bit after the service I get.
