I like this little place. Back when I worked at Constitution Plaza, this was my go to for quick sushi. Never a wait and always the kinds of options I’m looking for, the sushi staples: salmon, tuna, spicy salmon and tuna and something with some veggies. Nice. Haven’t tried the miso soup yet. Also haven’t tried the delivery.

I was so upset that I had to wait 2 hrs for my delivery and couldn’t find another place near that delivered. But when it arrived the lady was nice and she had gotten lost. It was definitely worth the wait. If I don’t have to wait 2 hrs I would have given them 5 stars

Love them! My only complaint is that they have very limited hours, as is true of most places in State House Square. Unlike other vendors in that food court, if you come by just a little after 2 when they are packing up, Sushi Express will accommodate.(I used to have an unfortunate schedule that meant my lunch break began at 2. I wasn’t just being a jerk, for the record) As a vegetarian, I’ve showed up to see no options in the case. The employees, seeing my sad face, asked what I was looking for. I told them. They went into the back and made it on the spot. They’ve been super nice like this more than once. It took me awhile to realize they have miso soup. This is an affordable alternative to some of the fancy schmancy sushi spots downtown, and as far as the takeout sushi goes, far fresher and tastier.

My issue with this takeout sushi place: the rolls are too cold and they’re stuffed in the takeout container. As a result, the consistency of the roll and rice is off. Had, for example, the spicy tuna roll today and it just didn’t click. The price isn’t bad and the service is obviously quick, but if you want great sushi, this isn’t it. Decent and fast? Perhaps, but Feng takeout would be a better choice. P. S. You can also pick this up in the Hartford Hospital cafeteria!

Love the sushi here! It’s made fresh every day by the owner and his wife and the ingredients are always fresh too. I really like the spicy tuna rolls and eel rolls paired with the miso soup! yum! When I’m in Hartford, this is where I pick up my sushi!

I love this place and seriously addicted to their miso soup. Have you ever gone to a sushi restaurant and after getting a tiny bowl of miso soup, thought darn I could eat a whole pot of this goodness… Well, for 2.25 here you get a fairly large container of the soup with a good amount of sea weed and tofu on the bottom. Miso hungry, miso heading downstairs now!

Decent little take out sushi place in the SHS food court. Prices are reasonable and the food always tastes fresh. It’s nothing fancy, but I actually prefer it that way. Definitely a welcome addition to the work lunch rotation.
