My boyfriend decided to grab a beef patty and cocoa bread. We usually go to the Bakery on Main St because they have hot food. We were in he area so we swung by this location. I kindly asked him to grab my a Champagne Cola. As I started to drink it I noticed it tasted extremely FLAT! Anyone who drink Cola’s know they’re spicy! I decided to go back in and ask for another one. The lady chuckled and said«we’re not responsible for drinks.» I looked at her like«are you for real?» I turned around and shook my head as I was walking out! What a waste of $ 1.60 My man work hard for his. Never again.

I asked the Jamaican people I work with where to go for Jamaican food in Hartford. They came back with a few places, but Scotts’ was the common denominator — they all swore by it. When I got there myself, I wasn’t disappointed. Curry chicken and oxtail were phenomenal, the curry goat was good despite not being my favorite type of meat, and I think everybody’s already mentioned the beef patties. I had enjoyed Jamaican food a few times before coming here, but if you’re just looking to try it out this is a good place to start. Prices are reasonable, you get a lot of food, and service is always friendly.

The best Jamaican beef patties in the city. The original spot also. Everything is cooking fresh daily, abd the best time to get a party abd breed HOT is when they first open or around lunch time.

I love this place. You can’t beat the beef patties… they’re so good. The crust is flakey and delicious and the beef is spicy and delicious. Also, get a cornbread and cheese. Seriously. Yum. I’ve been coming to Scott’s since I was a kid and it’s still SOGOOD. It’s my hometown comfort food… whenever I end up Hartford, I always find myself craving beef patties.

Scott’s patties, coco bread, sweet potato desert are the best I’ve ever hand. Every things made fresh! When ever I’m close I have to stop for a patty

Best Jamaican beef patties and delicious coco bread. Would be 5 stars, but the bullet hole in the glass window kind of scares me. But hey, maybe it just adds to the«ambiance» haha.

Hartford has a huge Jamaican community… Scott’s, Peppers(Bloomfield), and MacGregors are all excellent. I usually get the chicken and beef patty or the Coco bread. Just make sure you come here while it’s light out. Not a good part of Hartford.

Best Jamaican bakery ever! That is all that needs to be said. Their patties are to die for! The coco bread is always fresh and hot. I also love the coco bites. They’re made with beef hot dogs. That’s as plus for me because I don’t eat pork. I haven’t tried their other foods but I will and I’m sure it’ll be just as good.

This place is the absolute best if you are looking to get Jamaican patties in Hartford. Every single time I try another place, I end up wishing I had gone to Scott’s! The beef patties are always fresh with a flakey crust and piping hot filling. In addition to that, the beef has a bit of a spice/zip that makes it absolutely delicious. Also, for being on Albany Ave, this place is pretty convenient due to the fact that they have a parking lot beside the building’s entrance.

Can’t go wrong with the beef patties here. Coco bread, curried goat, and the curried chicken are favorites as well. I’ve actually never eaten at the restaurant but I’ve had takeout more times than I can count. I originally discovered Scotts’ in grad school since my social work program had tons of events catered by them throughout the year. Now, years later, I’m glad the bakery is still a fixture in my life!

When you’re in college there are days that you go without a good meal b/c the meat in the café has a questionable layer on it. No problem drive down the road and stock up on some patties! Not just any patty a Scott’s patty will change your patty life! So every time I visit Hartford a visit to Scott’s is mandatory and I bring that yumminess back to BK.

I have a soft spot in my heart(or tummy) for Jamaican patties and have finally found THE place for them. I’ve been here a couple of times already and each time the patties were top notch — beef or chicken it doesn’t matter. Their coco bread is beyond compare. Everything tastes fresh and as if things couldn’t get any better the prices are very reasonable. You can get a satisfying meal for $ 4-$ 5. Some folks might get a little nervous driving through the neighborhood where this particular bakery is located but the store has a parking area right along the side where you can walk right in and get your patty fix and walk right out. If you go during the daytime it shouldn’t be a big deal.

I’m not from the area, however I have been working in the area for the past ten years, so I’ve eaten at many places on Albany Ave. Scotts is one place everyone at work knows about and has been to. We’ve been there many times and I usually get the same thing. Beef Patty Coco Bread! I’ve also been to other Jamaican restaurants in the area including Golden Crust(not there anymore) and the Jamaican restaurant in Copaco plaza. Nothing even comes close to Scotts. I was silly for even trying anything else.

Finally made it to Scott’s… a week after returning FROMJAMAICA no less. I was worried that the food here may not be quite as good as the food i had just had on the island itself, but oh wow was i wrong! We stopped and grabbed a quick lunch after running errands. We got beef patties that were soooo flavorful. The best part besides the perfectly mix of spices and beef? The price. $ 2 a piece, no joke. And they are huge. As good as the beef pattys were, somehow the cocobread was even better.($ 1!!!) We got it while it was still warm and it is a perfect consistancy. A chewy„ soft, dense, sweet bread. It almost melts in your mouth. Ive never really felt that way about bread– haha! they also have a bakery full of all kind of fresh made breads, after the cocobread, i wanted to try them all. Next on my list is the raisin bread. If you like jamaican food, i would definitely recommend this place. Its so quick and easy to just walk in and $ 3 later come out with food that wil leave you stuffed. Its pretty much carry out only and they have a $ 5 debit card minumum. Its easier to just bring cash if you can. Its usually full of people, a good sign. It seemed as though there were many«regular» returning customers.

Just as I remembered! I made my way here this morning and stuffed my belly with a beef patty, coco bread, AND a piece of rum cake. This is after I had a pretty big breakfast. I want to satisfy my nostalgic desires as much as possible before I head back South. Sweet ladies at the register quickly bagged up the freshly-made items and I talked myself into saving the savory pastries for lunch, but then I rabidly ripped open the waxed baggie. I ultimately convinced myself that the scrumptiousness of Jamaican food could not be saved for later. Fresher = better(except for the case of unbreaded fried chicken, chili, and tres leches cake… Yeah, these things taste better on the second and subsequent days for me). Don’t log this meal into MyFitnessPal. I hope I take my own advice today.

Ok, if you’re not Jamaican, stop reading now. Wha gwan, friends. I’m an American who lived in Stony Hill and worked in a rural community off of Junction for a year, so hopefully that suffices for credentials for what I’m about to say: Scott’s is AWESOME. It might be rather dingy, but hell, most markets in Jamaica are. At Scott’s, you can get spice bun, cheese, Ting, gizzadas, patties, and really, really, REALLY good coco bread. I seriously felt like I was in Kingston, and what better feeling is there? The patties are that perfect combination of spices where you’re not sure if the temperature is hot or the spices are… and you’re just glad your mouth is burning. Cash only.

Fiancé and I rolled in the neighborhood specifically for Jamaican food. The restaurant we originally went to to didn’t have any beef patties. So, we stopped by at Scott’s for some! We both had the beef patties. He ate his with coco bread; I ate mine without. It was very yummy! It definitely tasted authentic– aka NOTHING like Stop and Shop’s pre-made Jamaican beef patties. Definitely worth a stroll into the neighborhood if you’re lucking for Jamaican treats!

I was in Jamaica this past Christmas and wow Scott’s Jamaican Bakery makes beef patties that were as good as those found in Jamaica. They taste very similar to the ones I had in Jamaica but not as spicy. Scott’s delivers their patties to many of the other bakeries in town(per my co-worker). If you never had one of their beef patties you should give them a try. Be prepared for some grease to soak through but its so worth it. It’s cheap fast food but very tasty. I’m not a fan of beef but the veggie patties just aren’t perfect. I occasionally order a veggie but find that its not the same and end up eating my BF’s beef patties. I work in the North End so the neighborhood doesn’t bother me too much. They have a lot by the bakery. It’s a quick in and out. I If you’re scared to venture into the neighborhood head there during the day. The staff was friendly and each time I’ve been in I’ve never feared for my life. This location does run out fast. I find sometimes if you go there a little later they start running out of food. I save Scott’s for my broke and tired without a lunch days. For under $ 3 you can get a meal that will hold you. If you have spare change, might as well grab some ginger beer. Cash only.
