Probably the worst Jamaican food in the hartford area. The safest thing to get in this place is a beef patty. I believe this place is now closed. :)

I stopped in on a whim and am glad I did! The jerk beef was exactly what I needed for lunch, full of flavor and fresh/hot from the kitchen. Both kinds of hot, come to think of it! The cooked cabbage & rice was a good match for the main dish. The ambiance is low-budget mom & pop style, with a lot of Mohammed Ali memorabilia. Wish the TV wasn’t on but the young man behind the counter was watching the game and I can live with that. Will definitely seek Snack-It out again next time I’m in Hartford.

The food is great nice atmosphere. The portions are very generous and you won’t be disappointed. I typically get the jerk chicken with steam vegatables. The cookin is definitely home style no complaints. The other eats are good too. Location is a plus easy off and on the highway of I-84

The help there is rude! They never say hello, they look at you like you have no head. The food is ok.

This is a great little place with not much atmosphere at all, but very friendly service and GREAT Jamaican food. They have the typical items, jerk chicken, curried goat, oxtail, etc. — and I highly recommend a small size portion for lunch — but definitely ask for the cabbage and rice and peas that come with at no extra charge. It’s down-home cookin’ carribean style, and you can make a quick lunch out of it. It’s right next to La Paloma Sabanera, if you want coffee thereafter. If it’s your first time, order at the window first(tell them for here or to go) and if you’re staying, sit down, and they’ll serve you up all proper.
