Good authentic Mexican food without the crowd and parking hassle of the other more popular place in town.

This is THEBEST Mexican restaurant in Washington county hands down. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. It is a hidden gem for sure. From the street it is hard to tell that there is a restaurant because the building has been changed. The tacos are my favorite. The burritos are great too. One day they made me a torta, a Mexican sandwich that was great too. I’ve never had a bad experience. I eat there now one or two times a week because the food is so good and the staff is so friendly. I hope that people spread the word about this place so they get enough business to keep serving great food.

This nice little Mexican restaurant is hidden in Hartford. They have been around for a while, but we just never made it there until this week. They are in a building that looks to have been subdivided since being originally built. As a result they don’t have a front window onto the street. So you don’t know what you are walking into. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The restaurant looked really nice, and was very clean. The chips and salsa were great. The salsa was a little sweeter than your typical restaurant salsa. It was a nice change. I had the combination plate that came with a chimichanga, a tostada and a third item. The name escapes me. Wow were the portions huge! The chimichanga was the size of a huge burrito. It was ok, a little to greasy for me. It was deep fried, as expected, and the grease ran out of it as you cut into it. The tostada was great. It has very fresh vegetables, and the chicken was good. The waitress was a bit over eager, but she seemed new at being a waitress. I would give this place a try, but maybe stay away from things that are deep fried.

We had a great lunch at Taqueria Azteca! The staff was so friendly and helpful. My brother is vegetarian and they made up some great veggie tacos for him. I got one too and it was my favorite with lots of fresh avacado! The maiz tacos were excellent — very fresh and authentic. They had a sign for agua fresca’s which would have been amazing since it was a hot day, but they stopped making them due to low demand — so encourage them to bring them back! They also have margarita’s and a small bar you can sit at — I think it would be a fun place to come in and have a drink. You can also stop in at the Mexican Grocery store next door for a look around or to get a snack.
