I was interested in visiting here since it seemed quieter than starbucks and classier than DD. Anyway, I was swayed by the other reviews but somewhat let down. I walked in and the gentleman working seemed confused by my entrance. I asked him where I could order a drink and it was awkward. I asked if I do it myself or if he prepared it and he hesitated and then said he would prepare it. So I picked out a tea and he said since I was planning to stay, I should have a seat. I wasn’t asked to pay and wasn’t sure when I’d be expected to. It was quiet but just awkward.

This lovely space is a combination gift shop, art gallery, and café. Serving mocha, hot chocolate, and Persian tea in samovar, it is an unexpected joy on Trumbull Street. Tea is served with a translucent rock candy; I enjoyed the cardamom flavor. If you like the type of jewelry sold at Ten Thousand Villages, then you will like what they have for sale currently. The wall art is also for sale, but at a steeper price. For those who like the oil painting but can not spend a few thousand dollars, there are prints on t-shirts and canvas bags. The owner is a delight! She insisted that I could stay as long as I want, no rush, using their wifi. There are regular tables and then some cozier seats toward the back near a water feature. This might be my new haunt.
