We ordered delivery from here once and picked up take out once. Neither were spectacular — burgers are dry and overcooked. Dog was nothing special. Soup was thick and too starchy. Kaiser roll instead of hamburger bun. No sodas available as advertised– only diet coke cans? No thank you

We had a Savenowct coupon for this place and i’m glad we tried it. I had the Tuscan burger which i will definitely get again– the pesto and roasted red peppers were delicious! My husband had the Jamaican Jerk burger which he enjoyed. I got the Latin fries(yummy) and he got the Thai fries(also yummy). The burgers tasted fresh(definitely never frozen). The employees were really nice and helpful and the restaurant was clean. My only complaint was that they had a tv in the corner that was kind of loud and showing an infomercial– just turn it to something else or turn it off. We will definitely be going back. The price was great. Why eat a frozen burger with boring toppings when you can have a fresh burger with a large variety of toppings? Oh and we were told the owner is going to open a new location near Carmax in Hartford.

Would be 4 stars but… I would have considered giving The Spot four stars in favor of their cheap, generally tasty, and creative meals, but one experience has kept me from ever wanting to eat there again. I found a hair in my hot dog. Yes, that statement sounds gross enough, but this was an especially traumatic experience. The hair was very long and situated lengthwise down the bottom of the bun, in such a manner that after taking a bite one was guaranteed to have a strand of hair linking their mouth to the rest of their meal. Every time I think of ordering from The Spot I recall the horror of using my teeth to slowly pull several inches of a strand of hair from the remainder of my hot dog. Its placement was so flawlessly revolting that I can’t help but think someone put it there intentionally. That being said, their Latin Fries are out of this world.

This place is pretty cool, and YES, it HIT the SPOT! lol. They have a VAST array of items, from fresh burgers(he pulled out a tray of HUGE balls of hamburg meat to show us how their hamburgers start, the meat was super fresh looking!), they sell Breakfast all day(huge bonus point for me right there, which is why the 4th star) and also the place is CLEAN! Very clean! Ok, so you may have seen this place on New Britain Ave, we just noticed it(we do not get to that side of town very often), and were on our way home from an unsatisfactory meal elsewhere earlier in the day, so we decided to pop in and see what they had on the menu. The owners name is Jack and he was so very nice, and very up front about how they cook things… We were actually talking to him and one of the regular customers when we walked in… its an open sandwich shop type of place, so the customer heard us say it was our first time in, so the customer started telling us how awesome everything is… it turns out everything is very fresh, they do not have a freezer there, everything is made fresh daily! They have sooo many things on the menu, oh, and before I forget, THEYDELIVER! with a pretty wide radius and it’s FREE delivery! I have always said, someone should deliver breakfast! They are open 7 days a week, Mon-Sat is 7am-10pm, Sun 7am-7pm. I do not see any sort of restriction on the menu for delivery hours, so I am thinking, they might just deliver breakfast, which is pretty cool in my book! LOL OK, so here’s the rundown on the food… They have sooooo many varieties of each thing… Burgers– I count 17 different choices Hot Dogs– I count 14 Fries– I count 11 Then they also have wings(bones and boneless), grinders and club sandwiches, wraps, appetizers, salads, sides, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, pancakes or french toast, and beverages, such as Jones soda and others, as well as Milkshakes, coffee, tea, cocoa, etc… The variety is amazing. This place has been here 2 yrs, before that, Jack owned(and then sold) a place in Bloomfield that has been in business for many yrs, I think it was called Town and Country, but am not positive. As we were leaving, he kept giving us different fries with the different seasonings so we could try them(ooh, the latin spice was yummy, but the lemon pepper made me run for my soda… LOL… was very spicy!). We had split a hot dog and fries, the hot dog was nice and beefy, the bun was grilled and yummy. Toppings were very good and fresh. The hot dog was waaay better than the crappy one we had at Roscoe’s a few weeks ago(altho, we now know Roscoe’s was going out of business, which is probably why their quality was so poor) but anyway, these hot dogs were definitely beef and very good quality and pretty long also! We also got a breakfast sandwich to take home(Jack was so nice, he did not cook it until we were leaving, because he wanted it to be fresh… did not have the heart to tell him it was for the next day’s breffie! LOL) but it was very yummy, the sausage they use has a great spice to it! I really dug this place, not only for the variety(cannot wait to try one of those massive burgers!) but also because it was very clean, and the owner said that they purposely do not have the freezer so that everyone knows their items are fresh! All the cooking is done right behind the counter, you can see it all, nothing is ‘hidden’. To me, that is a good sign! Once we try the burgers, will do an update for you!
