Harvest Time BBQ

If you drive past it too fast, you’ll miss it. It’s a small spot just off the road, but WELL WORTH THE FIND!
They offer good portions at a reasonable price, with excellent service!
I’ve had about all of their meats — each one of them cooked perfectly!
A great place to stop for some down home BBQ!

Fittingly, the place is under new ownership, while the window people were cheery and polite, the owner sits at a table with his lap top, and doesn’t even acknowledge that you came in the door. A very cold place in my estimation. Hopefully the new owners don’t follow in his footsteps. Now called «Holie Smokes».

Dined in for a late lunch. Ordered the wing plate w/​bbq beans, and a half-​slab of ribs. The wings were outstanding and the sauce was only moderately hot. They were supposedly smoked and seasoned with the same rub used on the ribs. I didn’t detect a distinct smoke flavor in the wings, but they were outstanding none-​the-​less. The beans were chocked full of pork, but they were very bland and too thick for my palate. The ribs were very tasty, but they proved to have more bone than meat. Nice counter seating, clean bathroom, no TV, good value.

Happened to cross by this place on my way home by going a different way than usual, sure glad I did. The menu is extensive and the owners realized it was my first I was offered a sample plate to decide. It was a full plate of various deliciousness. I went with plain wings, ½ rack of ribs and Brunswick stew. The wings are smoked with a sweet/​tangy/​salty flavor that my wife and I now crave. Some of the best wings I’ve had and we live for chicken wings. Ribs were perfectly cooked and don’t need any additional sauce because the flavor is fantastic. The stew was hearty and a bit spicy, perfect for a fall day. Can’t believe this little shack in the middle of no where delivered what I think is some of the best BBQ in Huntsville. Even happier that it’s just around the corner from my house as we will be back often.

The BBQ is good. Not dry like a lot of places. mmi even got there a few minutes Before close. Sides were good and they have great sweet tea.
Tried the banana pudding. It was different but awesome. Kinda like a custard.
Price was ok. The only complaint was that they might could have a better kids menu.
I will eat there again.

My family and I were out driving on a beautiful Saturday and were ready for lunch when we happened to drive by Harvest Time BBQ around lunchtime so we pulled right in. This was the first time we had been in that area and it looked like a nice quaint BBQ place. I went inside to see if they had inside seating which they did. My family joined me and one thing I noticed right away was the electronic monitor that they had for the menu sign inside. I told them owner it was like the ones they have at McDonalds. Its nice to have a good way to display menu prices without them being incorrect or blotted out etc as are alot of places that you find these days. They brought my family samples of their wings, BBQ, chicken and their rubbed fries. The samples were incredible. I had never had fries like that. All of the food was incredible. We ordered a 1 lb family pack with potato salad, baked beans and rubbed fries with some Banana pudding for all of us too. The BBQ was great. The banana pudding was really good. We spoke with the owner for a while since he was sitting in the dining room. He told us about the grand opening 2 yrs prior and how the business has done quite well. The customer service we received along with the great tasting food will definitely have us coming back for more in the future. I think next time we will have to try out the BBQ chicken also. I salute the owner and his employees for making this a very enjoyable dining experience and we will definitely be back in the future to enjoy more of that great food.

Had high hopes that we would discover a gem as it was recommended by a local friend. However, the experience we had turned out to be an utter fail. Ribs were tough, slathered with something that tasted nothing more than Bulls Eye BBQ sauce doctored with a sprinkle of cumin. And maybe we just got a bad batch. However, if you’re charging 30+ for a slab of ribs and two sides then there should be more consistency in quality control and pride in what you do to ensure that what you put out is only your best. Green beans were clearly from a can, bland, and under seasoned. The cheese in the mac n cheese tasted like it also came from a can. Ended up throwing it all away.

Good BBQ. I ordered pork and chicken. Both were very good. The potato salad and the mac & cheese were very good.
The service was friendly and quick.
I will be back for more.

The last time I house sat for a friend in Harvest, I couldn’t find any place to eat nearby. As I was heading north on Wall-​Triana yesterday, THE CAR whipped into Harvest Time BBQ — I swear I didn’t mean to turn in… but sure glad IT did!
The staff was extremely sweet! Since it was my first time to visit, they warned me that they would be bringing out samples of «everything». I ordered the lunch special and added a ½ pint of cinnamon apples. While I waited, they brought out a hot wing and a hot leg (leaning over to smell them singed my nose hairs), then a sample rib, then samples of two other desserts. All were delicious!
They were so busy bringing out samples, they forgot my drink but quickly rectified that mistake. When I got home, I found out they didn’t include the requested sauce for the sandwich, but it was mighty yummy as it was! I requested «slaw on the side» and I’m pretty darn sure it is the BEST SLAW I have EVER had! Even compared to KFC (which I don’t like as much as I used to).
I am pretty sure that I’ll be back during my week of house sitting in Harvest! I even tried to encourage a few passing cars to «come on in»!

So I was coming back from a meeting with my mother and suddenly she got a feeling to have BQQ. So we have been passing this place for a bit and decided to try it out. When we arrive at the restaurant and step on into this little waiting area with a few other people and are looking at the menu (which was a little small) and we look at the sign outside and see that they only have ribs on Wednesday and Sunday’s only but the owner said they had some today but just missed out. It was fine with us. So we order a family meal to take back to the house but are told we have to wait for the grill to hear up because I think they were about to call it a day. Since we didn’t have to be anywhere we waited, but the owner felt like it was a burden for us so he came out from the back room and introduced him self as the «pork dork» and sat down and started telling us about how his business started back in October and just spent time with us until our food was ready. When we got home the pork actually tasted like the smoke. LOVED IT. He forgot to give us the sauce but it was not needed as it was good. The price was ok for the meal but the coleslaw was worth it.

I finally got around to eating here again and this time they had ribs and sauce ready. When I got home it was great and the ribs were a new squirted taste for me.

A nice little family owned BQQ that cares about its customers. I suggest giving this eatery a try!

Went here because a friend said they were great, but I’d rate them as just «ok».
This joint is in a really tiny building that has basically a drive-​up window. Inside is one table and a counter wrapped around the wall that makes it look like you can eat in. But the evening I was there the counter had a laptop on it and was covered in paperwork. It looked like someone was catching up the books.
Food selection is slim. Chicken or pork (they were out of chicken when I was there). Ribs are served but only on certain days. The baked beans were good, but tasted like Bush Baked beans out of the can. And they admitted their potato salad was store bought. But hey, I guess they specialize in BBQ meat, not fixin’s.
I’d go back if I were close by and starving.
