Food came out wrong four times and had to be sent back, presentation of food was sloppy, ½ hour to get a martini because they were out of martini glasses and had to wait for someone to finish using one! Manager was called over to our table and was rude, and he seemed just burned out. He was very controversial about food, s-l-o-w service. Took responsibility for nothing and blamed everything else around him.

The food was delicious and the bartender was great. The only issue I have is time and time again, the griping and comp me being thrown around. I swear in the last 5 visits my wife and I have heard this sooo much it’s actually annoying. «Let me eat half my food or finish half my drink and complain» followed by a crappy tip. I have no idea how this franchise even makes money. There definitely needs some procedure or rules put in place. The scam is out and something needs to be done. Even the manager and workers were complaining about this. Sad.

Upon being seated last night for dinner around 7pm. The restaurant had only a few dinners seated. My wife asked for a booth and the hostess said she didn’t want to double seat a server. My wife didn’t understand what she meant and ask her to explain what she said. The waitress with frustration in the air seated us at the requested booth. I noticed immediately a sour and foul smell that was loud and sickening with every breath Inhaled throughout the dining experience that night. The waiter took our orders and brought our drinks to the table. We then noticed that the restaurant was filling up in the section next to us and that the customers were getting there food before us. We were only three people and we ordered 2 eggplant and shrimp stacks and I ordered the grilled Salmon and spinach with the creole meunière sauce on the side. After an hour and ten minutes the entrees came out. Granted some people that were sat in tables next to us about 20 minutes after we were seated had already eaten and were paying their checks to leave. My Salmon was rare to mid-rare, closer to rare it was raw and cold to the touch. The 2 eggplant entrées were made with watery heavy cream sauce and the stuffing in the eggplant was cold. Also, what sold me on ordering the Salmon and Spinach entrée was the Jumbo Lump crabmeat the waiter boasted about. Well that turned out to be frozen special white crabmeat which was so little in portion, and very generous in shells. After showing the waiter, he offered to take the dish back and asked me if I would like to order something else. By the way, during this whole time, we did not see or speak to a manager. Any manager! They were all huddled up behind the cheesecake bar having an employee break laughing and having a good time with other employees. I then ordered the Redfish on the half shell. It came out with some puréed sweet potatoes in a separate boat, I needed a soup spoon to eat it. It was like eating hot baby food loaded with Carmel sauce, two bites and your in a coma! 2 hours into this nightmare, the other 2 people who were with me were still waiting on the strawberry cheesecake that they’d ordered when I put in my Redfish order 1:20 into the meal. No manager! No apologies No good food No more Copelands Over priced, over spiced and overrated! Under cooked and belly-up! I was there for the very first opening of Copeland’s Restaurant as a guest, and now in my opinion«unless a miracle happens» what could be very last“ Finally when I asked for the manager he came to the table and listened without offering a word other than okay after I went through maybe most of the problems I had with the food. Sometime good food could more than make up for bad service and poor management. In this case I could see that the manager looked liked a deer in the headlights! He was in way over his head and he knew it! He gave me his card and the GM’s card in what I believe was his way out. By doing this, the only thing he could be thinking was I’m finally out! Or he’s confident in the incompetence in the Copeland’s team as a whole and he knew that it’s not going to last that long anyway. New Orleans is getting a bad rap because of what used to be great! It’s over Copeland, New Orleans wants a divorce! Stop using its name in shame… Where are they now? Al, Gary, Stanly, Chef George IV. Where are you? Are they any decent prodigy? No! Not hear at Copelands! Please do us all a favor and give it up.

Came to have lunch with my bf and yet again I was very dissatisfied. This is my third time to Copeland’s and every experience has been dreadful. The first time the pasta was dry and hard, the second time I took carryout and it was cold and under seasoned. So I decided to give them one more try. There was a 20 min wait, not really complaining about that it is lunch time, but I ordered one of there famous Crash and Burn drinks and my boyfriend and I have finished our lunch and no drink. The waiter finally came back and asked if we needed our check??? Huh??? Lawd I just want out of here. I will eat there cheesecake but I will not be dinning in or ordering takeout Here Ever again. We asked about our drink and the waiter said«oh yea I forgot to tell you we ran out of juice» huh? They make there juice fresh so they say and another employee was making it. Then he follows up with«I took it off your check» smh stay clear of the place.

Yesterday I ordered late and the meal tasted old and soggy. Was issued a refund and came back today. Service slow Never received the crash and burn drink I ordered and I am done eating From what I remember the other location is much better all the way around. The reason I was given was the juices where made fresh and forgot to let us know. ANDTHEYDIDNOTGIVEMEMYCREDITFORMYBADMEAL. BYECOPLANDS Manager came and corrected the meal price and bought us the crash and burn.

We had several problems with our visit, from the very beginning. Two appetizers that were on the menu – stuffed mushrooms and fried macaroni & cheese – are no longer offered at this location, but they haven’t been removed from the menu. Also, we asked about their frying oil, and they fry EVERYTHING in the same oil – a big problem for someone with a shellfish allergy, which other restaurants half their size have been able to accommodate. The manager stopped by because he heard that we’d had some challenges, but basically said, «yep, that’s true. Too bad.» He didn’t offer any solutions, and didn’t really apologize. I ended up settling for the chicken pasta with tomatoes and basil, which is not what I wanted, but it was fine… until I found a piece of paper(?) in my food. The only positive was that our server was very nice and friendly. Definitely would NOT recommend eating here.

I haven’t been to Copeland’s in years. I decided to stop after visiting my parents on the Westbank and not wanting to sit in traffic. I was lured in by the change in location and the renovations. The changes couldn’t mask the mediocrity. My waitress/bartender at the bar during happy hour was inattentive and more concerned with gossiping with her coworkers that taking my order. Returning to Copeland’s after more than twelve years reminded me of why I just have never really liked their food. The spinach and artichoke dip was disgusting and really bland. I like my food to be complex and rich but this was about as frozen and processed as it gets. I was starving so I did have onion petals but«who can screw up onion rings?». The onion petals/rings were good. I had a few and was capable of leaving without hearing my stomach rumbling. I would never return to this Copeland’s or any Copeland’s. It’s just not for me. My experience here was subpar. The one star is for the good cold wine. The

The service was hopeless. The staff looks lost when you enter. The place smells like sour towels. The food is mediocre. I believe they remodeled because they had a health hazard of mold! So much mold they had to destroy the original restaurant. They’re not making a difference to the new location. I would recommend the Copelands in veterans

This restaurant definitely has a New Orleans ambiance. There are even French doors that opens to a separate dining section. The food is good. I usually get the spinach artichoke dip(comes with fried bowties YUM!)& buffalo eggrolls. I have had the crab and corn bisque. It is tasty. The only con about this restaurants is that is usually smells like stinky towels. When you are dining it, it smells like a bus station is right next to you, when its actually not even in sight. It’s so strong I won’t be going back any time soon.

We are on a road trip and found Copeland’s on Unilocal and it was perfect! Our server Kevin was awesome and we loved the beautiful atmosphere. The minute you walk in it smells so good… fresh baked desserts! We ordered the martinis(reasonably priced), Cajun Gumbo Ya Ya(nice kick!), Corn & Crab Bisque(fresh!) and Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms(citrus sauce was a great compliment).

The food was adequate(nothing to brag about) the servers are slow, the crowd that this«rich place» facades is despicable. Without trying to seem racist the name Copelands depicts a «fancy» place where«said people of a certain ethnic persuasion» can go to portray being rich(note the number of chrome rims in the parking lot). It’s quite deplorable. Not only was my waitress slow, and seemingly tired of her job, I noticed this place has a hired cop working a private detail. That just about tells me everything I need to know(these people can’t get along with each other when they go out for«fuhhiiinne dinin’»). The 2 tables(10 or more) of same said people of ethnic notability were loud as F#%$. Yeah I will not be coming back to this one. It is after all the westbank. There’s absolutely no way to get away from the«one star populous». I wish I could give it no stars or negative stars.

Copelands. This place came recommended from a friend back home in Seattle. I’m new to the area so Cajun/Creole food is new. First things, great atmosphere. It reminds me a lot of The Cheesecake Factory back in the Pacific Northwest. Everything was set up nice and orderly. Secondly, The waiters/waitresses seemed annoyed. They didn’t really have a customer service feel. It could have been the day I went, which wasn’t busy at all. Thirdly, The food was pretty awesome. I had the BBQ Boil(corn, sausage, jumbo shrimp) and my wife had the Ducky Platter(Noodles and shredded duck) For dessert we had Caramel Cheesecake and the Death by Chocolate which was one of the greatest cheesecakes that I’ve had. Overall, I’ll come back to this place again. Most definitely.

Damn Resturant delivered a dirty plate out with ketchup already on it and old food in the plate on a shrimp platter! WTH! Then it took over 30 minutes to deliver the apps to the table with a salad! It’s unprofessional for this company to do it like this! No complements for good sake from the manager, Tosha! So we elected to scratch the meal off the bill! No complements, really?

Just ate at Copelands on Manhattan and I must say, ITWASAMAZZZINNGGGGGGGG. Host was friendly from the start. Server was Coyle who was the BEST. I luv 2 go 2 a restaurant where I’m not sterotyped by the server. I give Coyle 2 thumbs up. Food was amazing. Corn and crab Bisc was 2 die for. Crawfish bread was the best ever. My entrée was blackened salmon with a baked potato and creamed spinach. Awesome. My entire family bragged on service and food. Great job guys, keep up the good work.

We stayed at Comfort Suites right next to Copeland’s New Orleans and just wanted to get some quick lunch. Discovered this place is be pretty good restaurant. We ordered crab claws for appetizer. It was surprisingly good, came with garlic breads which pretty darn good too. Service is kind of lacking a little bit since the Décor of the restaurant make you to expect 5 stars restaurant service. Overall, I would recommended.

We came solely for drinks and cheesecake. They were out of the peach Bellini which really made me want to just not stay. But we were already here. So I had a bloody instead. It was so spicy I couldn’t finish it. The app I ordered was very good but small in size. Took our cheesecake to go. The cheesecake I ordered was not what the server described when I ordered it. The cake on the bottom of the black and white tuxedo was dry and flavorless. Pretty nasty. That’s what I get for breaking my chain restaurant rule. Lucky we had a gift card and only paid a few bucks out of pocket.

Really hoping things get better, hate having to leave the westbank for a nice meal. Been a few times and although for the most part the food is good enough to compensate for the slow and inattentive service. Yesterday may have been the final straw for us. Bad enough we had to listen to the bartender drying dishes and clanging the whole stack(isn’t that what the kitchen is for?). There was a mom there with her 3 year old that apparently everyone knew(either a friend or employee). So the whole social event was happening from before we were there until right before we finished. 2 – 3 employees where with her the whole time so the chatter was exceptionally loud. Kid running around, free frozen drinks and left the mess on the floor and table. Bartender talking to her from across the room. Our server stops what she was doing to join the party. Manager was MIA. We just chalked it up to another restaurant on the westbank with a staff that doesn’t care that they have a job and a manager that either doesn’t care or has no control. This happened 7−2−15 at approximately 4:00, in case anyone from corporate is interested. Well once again, have to spend our money across the river. New location, same situation. You know what they say«You can put makeup on a pig…» Well you know the rest.

I tend to avoid chain restaurants but this Copeland’s on the West Bank is probably the best restaurant on the West Bank. The décor is great with several separate dining rooms, a decent size bar and an outdoor dining area that is nicely decorated. Eating outside on a nice day makes you forget you’re on Manhattan Blvd. It’s like a Cheesecake factory with desserts displayed at the front for diners to choose later or to take out. Everything here so far has been great. The chicken avocado salad was great. The biscuits are amazing. Service was prompt and attentive. Will definitely be back! 12/19/2015 Food slipping to mediocre and service is spotty. Burgers are still good. Might be back…

Feel a need to update my comments from months ago. I have been back several times and much has improved. Service is still a stretch but improved from bad to manageable. The bar has really good service, the lady there is on point. The food is really improved and it is up to Copeland standards that I am accustom to.

What can I say? I often visited the old Copeland’s location on Lapalco Blvd. without too much of a problem. However, the service at the new location astonished me! Of course, I walked into the new restaurant prepared for rude service due to previous reviews. I wasn’t expecting it mind too much because I’m very tolerant when it comes to awful customer service. Upon entering, a group of worker were gossiping near the hostess’s desk. They all just stared at me and my party until I had to ask if someone could get us seated. They didn’t proceed to do so until someone, who is presume is the manager, walked by. Being seated and waiting for my food was a mess. Orders weren’t put in, waiting time was horrendous, and waitress didn’t check up on us. After getting my food, I wanted to togo it and go home; the waitress never gave us our boxes. The manager saw us sitting and gratefully gave it to us. We payed and left. On a different note, the new place is gorgeous. It resembles a modern plantation/house and the décor makes you feel very much at home. There is a bakery upon entering, something the old location did not have, and it makes the restaurant smell lovely. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, strawberry lemonade, jambalaya pasta, and strawberry cheesecake. The spinach and artichoke dip come with battered and fried bowtie pastas; they make a great combination. The strawberry lemonade was very tart, but that can be expected. I believe it’s just lemonade with strawberry syrup. The jambalaya pasta is unique and full of flavor; I can’t find something like it anywhere else! The strawberry cheesecake is what will always get me coming back. Their crust does contain nuts(something the waitress did not inform my sister who told her she was extremely allergic). By the way, the lunch entrees are very small! My sister ordered the chicken alfredo, which does come with a brownie(she didn’t eat because nuts), bread, and salad. Although upset she was not told the small portion, both her and my dad were pretty full afterwards, so I guess it was filling. Food was great. Service was bad. The only friendly smile I honestly saw was the manager’s. It’s a shame to see such a lovely place have horrible reviews due to staff. I hope that problem gets fixed immediately!

We eat and drink here often, usually about 4 – 5 times a month. The reason is that we love the place. Same great staff but now in a great new place. We usually sit in the bar where Kaylin and Paige provide excellent service. Orders are timely taken and customers kept informed on the status of their order. My favorites are the Crash and Burn and the Shrimp & Lump Crabmeat Remoulade Salad with Corn and Crab Bisque. My recommended desert is the Turtle Cheesecake. There so many great menu choices it’s hard to go wrong.

I guess while I wait on my second order of food that isn’t sitting on a plate that’s been rinsed off and set under a hot light I can write this review. Let’s start with the good because it’ll be short. The new location and décor is amazing. Now. It’s lent an it’s Friday so I know your busy but. There was no crab in my corn and CRAB bisque, the seafood platter my friend ordered was swimming in grease on her plate(but the waiter was nice enough to bring her extra napkins to drain it off in), and I’ll mention again the half assed cleaned plates. Not to mention the manager was never around to voice you’re concerns. I guess we shouldn’t expect much from Copeland’s. Or rather I won’t anymore. Ok I’m back. AND there’s an elderly guest who has some type of mental illness who’s walking around kissing strangers babies and touching diners. Doesn’t seem to bother the employees tho. After we made mention of it the hostess seemed to spaced out to understand the concern she should have. Very interesting lunch to say the least.

December 9, 2014 — The family came together to celebrate my brother in-law’s birthday luncheon in the Plantation room. I love the new location and the architecture is nice with outdoor seating if your prefer. The food was good however the seafood platter seemed smaller than I remembered but that is ok since we never eat it all anyway. Our server was nice and patient with our large party. My husband and I had our usual Crash and Burn with the fruit beautifully decorated on top. It was a great experience and definitely visit again.

I always forget there’s a newly built Copelands on the Wank. When I finally remembered and dropped in, it was a good experience. Manfriend & I wanted a quick in and out dinner since we were heading to a friend’s after. We were seated quickly, greeted quickly, waters were brought out promptly and refilled as needed, & the food didn’t take to long after the order was placed. I had the crabmeat ravioli(7.95 $) & pecan crusted catfish(7.95 $) off of the small plate menu. Both dishes were delicious ! The ravioli came out piping hot! & the fish was so flaky(which was surprising). Manfriend had the crab cake and shrimp Alfredo(16.49 $). It lacked seasoning and I wish the crab cakes were more crispy on the outside. Overall, an okay dish. We were in and out within 30 – 40 minutes with satisfied tummies! I would definitely come back to check out their HH

So what attracted me to this particular Copeland’s is the amount of cars that is parked every night and for a Wednesday it was ridiculous packed. We wanted to see what all the hype was about and I love pasta! I typically order spinach and artichoke dip and buffalo spring rolls as my appetizers. It was hot and fresh when it arrived our table. Be careful and don’t make the mistake on overloading on the fried bow tie pasta. As for entrees, I ordered the stuffed eggplant pasta and my friend got the chicken Alfredo. My friend asked me if my dish was good. I said yeah, I think my dish looks better than yours. He said yeah yeah… in disappointment. Lol The stuffed eggplant pasta came with a generous amount of shrimp and crawfish! Check out the picture if you don’t believe! Oh yeah asked for honey to pour on your biscuits! Service is good for being pretty busy. I read other reviews complaining about the wait on food but I’m glad ours wasn’t that long. I would say 15 mins on appetizers and extra 15 mins on entrees. Plus, I was seated when I got there which is pretty awesome because I was expecting a wait judging from the parking lot. There’s outside seating too but my friend is too bougie for that. Lol

I heard about this place from a person who lived her a while back. The food was good. You will want to try the bow ties with spinach and artichoke dip. I think that is one of their signature appetizers. I had the fish of the day which was sea bream. Really tasty. The roasted cauliflower with Parmesan sounds amazing but when actually received was a little lacking in flavor The corn macque chox was delish and would recommend that side if looking for a regional speciality! Good spot to go to if on this side of town
