Ok place, I read one review saying it was better than subway… I don’t think so! Some crews are better than others. Night time the lines is always a mess but it’s ok I guess. Food is tasty and fast.

I had taken pictures, but for some reason they didn’t save. Which is a shame, because Izzo’s is aesthetically pleasing. And since I tore into that burrito like a tornado of teeth and nails, I didn’t take a photo. This location was big and bright. There’s lots of seating options and when I visited just after lunch on a Friday it was practically empty. The colors were vivid/tropical but not garish. I walked up to make my burrito selections. The girl encouraged me to mix and match fillings. I ordered a regular steak burrito with half cilantro brown rice/half Mexican rice, black beans, sautéed onions(OMG.definitely the star of that rolled sandwich) lettuce, pico de gallo, and half their mild red sauce/half cilantro sauce. I’m not a burrito connoisseur. As a matter of fact, I probably eat 2 burritos a year, because I never understood what all the fuss was about. Izzo’s just changed that. It was, quite simply, the best burrito I have ever had. And yes, I have eaten at Juan’s(more than once, and more than one location) Moe’s, and Chipotle. Still better.

I’m really not sure how this place stays open. Let’s start with the service. Some crews are nice and others just look you dead in the face and not speak. They just ask you what you want and send you on your way. Can I at least get a Hi?! The food… Aside from it being mediocre at best it’s always cold. I see steam coming from the products as they are being put on; but I think it’s a Jedi mind trick because what I saw is not what I bit into. I don’t like cold burritos!!! I stopped coming here for a while because of the mediocrity produced by this place. Seems as though I need to stay away for good.

Will not be coming back. This was by far the worst I’ve ever seen their quality of food.

Food is authentic and prepared perfectly. However, every time I go in there, there’s always a man with long hair who appears to be the manager and he is always yelling in a disrespectful and degrading manner to his staff in front of several guests. At least have the courtesy to take that to the back of the store. Love the food, pity the staff.

First time here and not a good experience. Spinach tortilla is TOUGH and the rice is hard.

I went here a year ago and the burritos were tasty. I had one with ground beef. Today, I got a burrito with dark chicken meat. When I took a bite it was REALLY burnt tasting. The flavor wouldn’t leave my mouth! Maybe it was a bad batch, but they should’ve noticed and not serve it to the customers.

I’ve been her a dozen times or so, after My Daughter recommended it. Every single time I received friendly service and an AWESOME burrito. What makes them so tasty is the marinade on the meats(especially the pork) and the freshness of the vegetables. Also try a mix of their BBQ sauce and their Illegal Sauce and You get a flavorful kicked up treat

This place is awesome for a burrito place. I’m from a place where there was really good Spanish hole-in-the-walls EVERYWHERE. And I’d have to say their carnitas is pretty tasty. I like this place on a lazy Sunday, I can get the illegal burrito and cut it pretty much into 4 giant peices, and have some all day and lunch for the next day.

Been here twice and both times was hit with the dysfunction of this location. The staff is friendly, but they all come off as throwed off. The food… It all has no flavor and the meats are usually dry. The drink section isn’t as clean as it could be and if things aren’t out of order or mislabeled you just feel like leaving whatever you don’t have behind. I won’t be going back to this location. There’s a lot that needs to be fixed.

The Metairie location blows this one away. Rarely the same employees when you go in. Therefore you get a different burrito every time you go even if you order the same thing. Kind of on the pricy side for salads which is annoying. A whole regular burrito with the meal is less than a salad by itself. That being said, there’s nothing else like it in the area.

Been 3 times since they opened. everytime they screw up on the order as i literally tell them what I want. then tonite we order online figuring they can’t go wrong… Get there haven’t even bothered to start our order… I got the pork carnitas burrito. it was disgusting.. Meat was cold and thick… asked for roasted corn it was as if they just defrosted it… every single time I ask for cheese forget about it… never once have I got cheese except for when I went and ordered nachos Togo with queso on side and the special burrito roller kept pouring cheese on my Togo order… even after throwing the 1st batch out. Anyways lesson learned Izzos on Manhattan Blvd Sucks!!! The one on Veterans never disappoints !!!

Originally gave it five stars just because I’m a huge fan of the food. I will say the management/service does leave a lot to be desired at times. Many times I go and they’re out of guacamole or there isn’t any salsa at the salsa bar or lids for cups are out. Once I ordered online, went to the store at the designated time to pick up my order only to get there and see they hadn’t even started making it yet. Little things like that should not be encountered with every visit.

I decided to check this place out because it had rave reviews on Unilocal. That and it was on my way home from work. The food wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. I noticed all the positive reviews on here. Most of the ingredients were alright except the beans were under cooked, and the rice had been sitting out to long. I would compare the quality of this place with Felipes Taqueria or Chipotles Mexican grill. This place does have vegetarian options so all you veg heads keep that in mind when you are looking for a tex-mex place. The service was alright, the people behind the counter were friendly. The speed of making the food and taking my order was pretty good also. So yeah the service was pretty good service. The concept of this place is build your own burrito(BYOB). It seems pretty cool at first when you think about it. But in reality its not so good, If Subway and Taco Bell had a deformed love child together this place would be it. So yes Izzo’s is the new«Sloth» of tex-mex places. This place does have another saving grace to it. It serves beer, so its not a total wash. Oh yeah prices here on food here are very reasonable as well. In short decent service, affordable prices, serves beer, but lackluster food.

Izzo’s is good. I prefer it over Juan’s. However, it’s just so pricey!!! My son loves making his own burrito. Besides the flour tortilla(unless you choose the wheat), it’s a pretty healthy meal if you choose the right meat. They stuff it with goodies, yes. They barely ever skimp on the fillings, but man, for the price I pay just for my son and little sister and I to eat, I could feed an entire family of 10 at Taco Bell! But, the price still doesn’t stop me(or my son) from coming back all the time. It’s just a good meal.

MMMmmmm. Really really good. I came right at 12 on a Thursday, about 2 minutes before the crowd got in. IM glad because even though I researched ahead of time on how to order, it was still a little bit overwhelming when seeing all the bits in person. I would of held up the line with my indecision. All in all it was good, a little pricey but the ingredients look to be top shelf. I avoided the guac cause I seen the guy in front of me get a scoop and it was tiny. I’ll bring my own ;-) Even with the lunch crowd in full swing when I left, there was plenty of seating available. The staff was friendly and not pushy at all. Ill be back for sure. 4 stars cause im a cheap bastid and I was tapped out for money after this lunch. I didn’t have enough for my afternoon Monster drink :-)

Three stars for tonight. I had trouble with the prices($ 2.49 for a thimble of queso with the«queso deal»? There was enough queso for six chips! $ 1.49 for a tiny scoop of guacamole?)… and the A/C was on full blast — I was so cold I left a third of the way through eating… I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, but sent the boyfriend for my jacket and was still too cold to finish my food! The burrito was okay. I wish the chicken had been seasoned. I had a regular misdemeanor flour tortilla with refried beans, rice, chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, corn, and sour cream. I’ve had Izzo’s before and really enjoyed it, so I’ll try again!

I’ll go ahead and give this Izzo’s a 5-star rating to match the other one in Metairie. After all, it’s the same food and same atmosphere. I actually like the Harvey location better for 4 reasons. 1. It’s closer to my house. 2&3. They have more seating AND it’s less crowded… I don’t think I’ll ever have to wait for a table here. 4. An extra Coke dispenser, which gives more options and less wait time to get a drink. Still the same menu, same ingredients, same helpful/quick staff, same salsa bar, etc. My only complaint is how much they charge for a scoop of Guac, but whatever, it’s worth it.

I’ve only been here once, and it was for a pick up order, so I can’t really speak to the service, just the food. I ordered a super felony with pork carnitas and all the usual«fixins». I agree with Jen that it’s a little ridiculous that they charge $ 1.49 for guac. I mean, I can see charging fifty cents or something, but more than that just seems greedy to me. The biggest thing that I like about this place(and apparently other Izzo’s) is you can place your order online, give them your cell phone number and they will text you when your food is ready. After I ordered my food online, I popped in and I was in and out in probably 30 seconds. Super convenient. And honestly, what would stop you from ordering online and then dining in, skipping the line completely? Nothing, as far as I can tell. VIP treatment FTW!

Being from Baton Rouge, I used to go to Izzo’s and Qdoba(which is basically the same thing) all the time. When this location finally opened, I was super excited and visited on their second day. I got a «burrito in a bowl» with chicken, rice, pinto beans, lettuce, etc. It was very yummy. The only downside was that I got one bite with grit in it, and I think it’s because the lettuce wasn’t washed completely. Otherwise, it was exactly what I expected from Izzo’s. Other bits of info: –The place has 4 TVs. –The inside has tables, booths, and a bar with stools. –Lemons, limes, and a few types of salsa are near the self-serve drinks, along with containers to put them in.
