I have a love/hate relationship with Office Max. I love that it’s within walking distance of my boyfriend’s apartment. What I hate about it is a personal problem. I may be a compulsive spender but I’m one heck of an organizer. All it took was one nice day during a week in January for me to start experiencing cabin fever. I looked around the room for something to do and I found it in his linen closet. I went to Office Max with blind ambition… I was able to walk home carrying my entire purchase in a two drawer lockable filing cabinet. I didn’t spend more than a hundred dollars for everything I needed to shred, declutter, record, compile, sort, label, file and remove from that messy spot in the house. I have a lot of fun looking around at all the stuff this store has to offer. They don’t advertise like Staples does so I found out the hard way that their prices and selections are better.

I have needed a new printer for the past 3 months. I was finally ready to buy one. I walked in and was looking at printers. No one approached me. I looked on the floor for someone. No one around. All I saw was the cashier who had a line. I walked out. Oh well. NEXT!

When I walked in to get a clear report folder with three silver prongs for a taxonomy project, I didn’t know what I was looking for since the description I had been given had been very vague. It was empty when I went, probably because it was a Tuesday. Anyways, I asked for help and one was more helpful than the other. One just freaking disappeared, and the other was actually quite useful, doing their best. I left empty handed except for some card stock, which they should carry smaller amounts of that are weights of 95 — 110. Then they would maybe have some leverage over Staples, which I prefer to go to. I would return if there was something I needed that I couldn’t find elsewhere.

I bought a chair from here once. This is the dirtiest and most run down Office Max in history. The staff all play duck the customer over here — quite pathetic. As I am writing this I wonder if it is even still open. If i were Office Max I’d send the staff to the breadlines.

This store has some excellent deals on occasion thanks to sales and rebates. I was even getting things for free(not counting sales tax and postage), but I think that was cutting into the company’s profit margins(especially with me shopping here). It’s a good place to buy your office supplies and all that computer crap you need.

You can’t beat the service here on large printing jobs or bus. cards. I go here alot for the Copy Max. I have made many color copys here and used there regular photo copy machine many times as well. The Office Max is connected at this store and has great deals on computers and obviously all sorts of office suppllies. Most of the employees know their stuff at this location also, and I’ve seen a number of the same ones for years, so they must treat them at least decent.
