I wish I wasn’t here to post a negative review. I’m going to start by saying that the idea of having a vegetarian take out spot so close to home was great — what was even better was that the food actually tasted good. UNFORTUNATELY, they would NEVER get our order right. First time we ordered, they sent us egg rolls instead of spring rolls — we let it slide. The next time we ordered, they left out the fried rice. We called to let them know and the person who answered the call gave us attitude and told us we had to pick it up cause they were too busy. Really? Fine, we picked up the rice. The time after that, they brought us someone else’s order. After that we stopped ordering for a while, but then decided to order last night. This time they finally got our order right, but they bagged all the food together and the gravy from the teriyaki chicken spilled all over the bag and seeped into our vegetarian meals. I tried to signal the delivery driver before he left to show him, but he sped off and so I called them up to advise. A woman(sounds very young) answered and offered a $ 15 credit — I explained that I wasn’t looking for a credit, but if she were to give us a credit she should give us a credit for the entire $ 40 we spent as there was chicken teriyaki over EVERYTHING! After putting me on hold several times, she finally comes back to me with attitude to ask — what do you want me to do? I tell her that I would like to have my original order sent to me and delivered, she tried to tell me they were too busy again, but I told her that I could not pick it up, that I would wait. When the driver came, we showed him the bag and food. He snatched the bag, did not look at it and told us to never call them — that they didn’t need our business. THENERVEOFTHEM!!! So, as customers are we not supposed to advise if the order is not correct or to our satisfaction? As vegetarians are we supposed to be okay with some chicken gravy all over our food? As we are unpacking the 2nd delivery, we notice that, although we got charged for it — our appetizers were not there.

As a Chinese takeout restaurant, the quality of the food and the plus of the dumplings are totally out of my expectation. 5 star no doubt. Dumplings are good.

Legit Chinese food for the area. Call in rather than order online so the customizations are made such as adding Eggs to the fried rice. I’ve had their wings, dumplings, sesame chkn and general tso chkn. All were appetizing and pretty good.

This is my Chinese take out go to spot. After trying out so many other chinese restaurants in the area, this is by far the best place. Not only is the staff so nice but their delivery is pretty quick and the food is always hot. The Dim Sum is a slice of heaven, I could eat it every day. The pork is seasoned just right, the scallions are always fresh and the dressing is light and not overpowering. I always order edamame which is steamed perfectly. I’ve had so many different entrees from here so if I was to review all of them I’d need 4 months but the one dish that stands out from them all is the moo shu pork. The servings are tremendous and you almost feel like you are eating healthy.

Ordered from here numerous times and through multiple owner changes. I think the chef they have now is one of the best! I’ve had Chinese food all over(LA, VA, HI, NY, NJ, etc) and the food here isn’t overly greasy, salty or heavily sauced… The flavor are wonderful and always seasoned just right! Favorites: Dumplings, Beef Lo Mein, Singapore Mei Fun, Egg Foo Young, Beef w/Broccoli… Actually, you can’t go wrong with anything you order from here :) They also have a nice selection of Thai food. If you’ve never tried Thai food, give it a try! Green Curry is great, and so is the Pad Thai!

So wanted to see what all the hype was about this place since most people I know who have been here have no big qualms. Oh lord I remember when this place was jumbo Chinese food! Since I knew the owner’s son back in the day that place was basically my childhood right there. It’s hard to think ten years ago this place was Jumbos. They sold it almost a decade ago and it switched hands a lot. But here we are ten years later and we have Dumpling! They offer all my old favorites like mini spring rolls, general tso’s chicken, egg drop soup, and various fried rice. Those are pretty standard and if you are looking for anything out of the ordinary don’t get your hopes up! It’s still good but nothing to write home about. I’m giving this place five stars based on the things that stand out. Here are the options that stand out to me: –Vegetarian options galore! I’m not vegetarian but I really enjoy the vegetarian tso’s chicken. I actually get it more than the regular chicken! I’m guessing its soy based but not 100% sure. I have a lot of vegetarian friends so it’s nice to have a place to bring them. –Schezuan chicken is a pretty nice mix of a plethora of veggies and chicken in a slightly spicy sauce. This is the perfect balance of meat and veggies if you ask me! Good stuff! –The dumplings are their namesake and I must admit the chicken dumplings are good! If your in the mood for something different also try the shumai. This basically a small cylinder shaped dumpling with what I believe is shrimp and cabbage. I say definitely shrimp because it almost tasted like shrimp toast to me. –I am noting chicken fried rice because usually other Chinese places in town don’t execute this simple dish. This place also has some Thai stuff like pad Thai so I can see where the chicken fried rice comes into play. –Last but not least I show the ultimate fusion of American food and Americanized Chinese cuisine, THECHEESESTEAKEGGROLL! Pretty self explanatory but wow it’s delicious and I’ve never seen it anywhere else! It’s so cheap you might as well give it a go! So there you have it! It’s great to see this local spot offering up such great food! It’s safe to say they have my business and they will be seeing a lot more of me in the future!

i found an actual metal staple inside one of my shrimp dumplings. never ordering from here again. i’m absolutely disgusted and horrified. there goes my appetite, so thanks! UPDATE: Called later that night asking for a refund, since we didn’t eat any of the food, and it’s been 4 days with no response from them. Horrible customer service.

Probably the worst Chinese food I’ve had in my life. Saw Unilocal’s reviews and gave it a try. Wasn’t that hungry so I ordered Won Ton soup, Scallion Pancakes and Vegetable Dumplings. The noodles in the won tons soup were way thick and the broth was very salty. The pancakes were extremely greasy, even patting them with napkins didn’t help. The dumplings were wrapped with a very thick noodle but the filling was decent. TERRIBLE!!!

So a few people I know have been telling me to try this place and today I picked up some food to go. I ordered the fried dumplings, pork lo mein, chicken teriyaki combo plate, chicken with string beans, and side of fries. Not all for me of course but I did sample a bit of each. My absolute favorite of all of it was the fried dumplings(A no Brainer from a place with the word dumpling in the name of the restaurant). The dough was just the right consistency with a crispy exterior. The flavor was great with a hint of scallion. Probably one of the best dumplings I have ever had. The pork lo mein was meh, I’ve definitely had better. The chicken with string beans was pretty tasty as well, just a little too oily for my liking though, but good regardless. The chicken teriyaki was decent, I felt it could of had a bit more teriyaki sauce on it though. The fried rice was so-so… The French fries were a bit off, half were mushy and the other half a bit undercooked. All in all I did enjoy my meal but the belle of this ball was by far the dumplings. Also the prices were a little steeper then similar restaurants in the area. I will have to try some different dishes next time I order and do an updated review, because from all the good things I keep hearing about this place I don’t understand my experience today. Look out for a future update! PSNOFORTUNECOOKIES…

Very Yummy. Had delivered to the Hilton. $ 10 minimum. Ordered Pork Fried Dumplings & Green lunch Curry with Chicken which comes with rice & egg roll or soup. The dumplings are so good. Wanted to try the steamed as well but it’s too much for for one. The portion I ordered was too much for one!

I am absolutely in love with Dumpling Chinese! By far the freshest, well balanced Chinese joint that I have ever encountered. They serve the food on lovely decorative plates and the tables and chairs were nice and steady. The shrimp dumplings were oozing with flavor and juiciness, fully packed with shrimp and piping hot. Perfectly seasoned and not overly salted. Green curry chicken smelled outstanding! They served huge chunks of chicken, onions, green peppers, squash and eggplant. That sauce was the star of the dish. Perfectly spicy with a nice consistency. The vegetables were super fresh as well. Vegetable fried rice was great, and was served on the side so it didn’t get soggy in that delicious Curry. Now that, shows you care about the appearance and delivery for their customers. The scallion pancakes were delicious, although I like mine on the crisper side, these did not disappoint. Delivery was very fast and friendly. They have a great lunch menu that’s sure to satisfy anyone. Best part, they cook there food with No msg and use 100% vegetable oil. When your done eating, it feels like a healthy meal since its not oily or greasy. I highly recommend giving them a try, they are now my favorite Chinese restaurant in town, its so so good and I can’t get enough of them!

I had this delivered and the delivery service was perfect and very friendly. However the taste of the food is why I had to drop stars. I know General Tso’s chicken is more on the sweet side and slight spicy, but I had requested it to be very spicy and past reviews show that they definitely will make it spicy, but there was no spice in this at all! Because of this it was overly sweet for me and gave me a tummy ache =/. It may have just been today but I wouldn’t crave this spot, probably would order again if I just really had no other options and need something delivered.

I am usually not a fan of Chinese take out because I find it way too salty. But at Dumpling Chinese their food is seasoned just right. And to justify their name the dumplings are very good. They have all different kinds like shrimp, chicken or pork and the dumpling skin is thin which I prefer.

I came here on a Thursday for a quick bite to eat. Haven’t really been to any great Chinese restaurants, but this one is pretty good. It’s a small place with 4 tables for customers to sit and eat. I’m glad that it was clean, which is always plus when eating at a restaurant. Their menu is the standard Chinese food menu, with a lunch special from 11am-3pm. They special cost from $ 5.75 — $ 6.75. That’s actually pretty good. I actually came here for lunch and noticed the reviews online were fairly good and I wanted to try it for myself. I ordered some food to go. My order took about10 minutes. In regards to the food, they get 5 stars. I ordered the boneless BBQ spare ribs with white rice and it was amazing. It wasn’t dripping with oil like some other places I’ve been to. The special can come with soup, soda or an egg roll.

Vegetarians make your way over here! There are so many options and not just the chinese-american dishes. Theres some Thai and other south-east asian inspired courses here. On the wall they even have a few selections to choose from. Ther shrimp rolls have a few shrimps in them, which is better than the skimp one or two i usually get. Their fried veggie dumplings are my fave here. Theyre home made with a green veggie wrap. The inside? Glass noodles. mushrooms, carrots, and loads of other veggies. They are my fave, i cant explain it – ive been to many chinese spots in towns but sometimes they over kill it with certain things. these are the perfect size, and perfect amount of veggies inside. The downside is, i feel they can be a kinda slow with cooking and delivery.

:New Place Alert: It was late yesterday, too late to head out to a proper restaurant and the fridge was not properly stocked for cooking; It was time to play the ‘whats good, local, and delivers in this area’ game. I came up with«Jumbo Chinese» In Hasbrouck Heights, it had a 4.5 star review with approximately 9 previous reviews which generally would indicate a good restaurant, and when it comes to Chinese food 4.5 stars would indicate an outstanding Chinese delivery/takeout joint… So I gave it a shot! Only when my food was delivered did I realize when I was handed the delivery menu that this was actually a NEW business named«Dumpling Chinese Restaurant». My stomach dropped, because I was afraid that the unrated food I was about to try for the first time would not be up to the previous owners standards. I was wrong. When it comes to the inexpensive, take-out/delivery Chinese food category this place rates among some of the best I have had. I ordered General Tso’s chicken(All white meat and spicy), egg drop soup, pork fried dumplings. All three were excellent. The pork fried dumplings were very obviously handmade(not the frozen pre-made pork fried dumplings we’re all used to) they were delicate and very tasty much to my surprise… Outstanding! Order some and you will see what I mean(I guess that why they call this place«Dumpling Restaurant» and I just got lucky with my order since i thought i was ordering from«Jumbo» restaurant. The white meat(as requested) in my General Tso’s chicken was of excellent quality with spice on the side as requested, no funky extra fat, or bad meat noted at all. The egg drop soup was definitely up to par. 5-Stars For cheap, clean, flavorful Chinese food delivered right to your door! I’m going to eat the leftovers in the office now =] Now go order some dumplings!
