Really disappointed. What we got in an hour is just a Coke and a soup. Is it just because we only ordered the dinner entrée not HIBACHI?

Very good for a group of friends or your family with small kids. They really make it fun and the food is really good.

Horrible! Undercooked rice… greasy. I will never eat under cooked rice again… it swells in your stomach and makes you wish death. Ruined my birthday celebration. I know the owner will reply with a modified cut and paste remark… I saw the other complaints. CONSUMERBEWAREEATATYOUROWNRISK!

Decided to try this place as my first hibachi experience after seeing the reviews here on Unilocal.I’m glad I did. I took my wife here for our anniversary and wasn’t too sure what to expect. After you are seated and order your food, you can then head over to the salad bar to get a few appetizers. Nothing too special there, some dumplings and some other small bites. Keep in mind that unless you’re part of a large group, you’ll probably be seated with some strangers. It wasn’t a big deal, as we all kept to ourselves. Once the hibachi chef comes out, then it’s showtime. Our chef,(named Ichiro, I believe), was great. He truly made it a show. From the flaming volcano to the egg slide, he made sure to keep us entertained. I had the Sukiyaki Steak, which is thinly sliced beef with teriyaki sauce, and it was great. My wife had the Sakura Salmon, and she loved it. Not only do you get your main dish that you order, you also get a ton of other food to go along with it during the hibachi experience. Fried rice, noodles, vegetables, soup, and a few other things. I’d recommend anyone looking for an entertaining and tasty hibachi experience to come here.

The strong drinks are worth the admission alone. Strong and definitely not watered down. The chefs and the rest of the staff were friendly and the chefs put on a good show while preparing the meal. Portions were generous and moderately priced and not to mention tasty. Yes the décor is a bit dated but I would recommend none the less.

We come here for special occasions like anniversaries and new years eve and have never had problems. However this time around we were there close to 2 hours. Completely unacceptable, we’ve been in and out within an hour on a packed new years eve. It seemed like there was only one chef as they were a little busier than expected on a normal thursday evening. The food was great like always and it kind of made up for our longer than expected stay. I’ll come back soon, but I hope the service is much more efficient.

Went to the Hasbrouck Heights location for the 1st time this week. Kinda old & musty upon entry, outside Definitely needs a facelift, especially for what they charge inside. The staff was not that friendly, especially our waiter. They were very impatient and rushing us.(Meanwhile we were 1 of 2 tables at the time) The chef’s were also not very entertaining, at other places they are way more engaging & outgoing. The tables are VERY tight & close together it was not that enjoyable. The one plus is that they have a salad and appetizer bar with the Hibachi. We requested a birthday song, which was also lackluster & super rushed. As we were leaving there were more tables sat, but it wasn’t a packed house & no one was waiting. It felt very dark & dirty to me, I wouldn’t go back.

I started going to this restaurant, because there is nothing else is close to my work. Also, I love Mt Fuji in NY. But, this place is really old, inside the building smells bad. I usually walk in with my nose closed. They need renovations ASAP! Food is good, not the best, but good. The service is very slow. If I go during lunch, I have to be prepared that it will take 30 to 40 minutes just to get 2 rolls. Even though, usually there are only 5 – 6 customers in the restaurant during lunch time. I guess it is better to call in and order to go.

Food is not great. Atmosphere, it is cheasy at its best. It is obvious they spent tons of money to create this restaurant and some art piece is worth seeing but whole restaurant looks like«hick» style in mid 80’s. The smell of entrance was awful. Couldn’t tell if its from bathroom or bad oil but it’s so disgusting as a restaurant that they should solve that issue immediately. It is a shame as it could be a real wondrful pace if they serve better food and maintain the building with more attetion and better taste. Solid wood table, Sudare(Bamboo shade) and other art pieces are worth seeing as I wrote. The location and setting iswonderful. One thing I really hated was their BANZA-I yelling for birthday people. Too wierd. I was Fleaked out every time I heard that. Do people here enjoy this? NOBODY does that in Japan and looks so strange. After all, it looked like one of the«Fake» Japanese restaurants all over in US ran by non-Japanese.

There are a lot of Japanese restaurants in this area. We decided to check this place out thinking we wouldn’t have to get hibachi, but we were told otherwise. It ended up working out with our family because our girls were mesmerized by the chef doing his magic tricks. We loved the fact that there was also a good sized buffet on the side, and that there was hardly no wait. However, if you don’t like your food salty, be sure to tell the cook not to use too much soy sauce. Both our rice and meat were on the salty side. Three stars sound about right.

We just celebrated my daughter’s birthday here a couple of weeks ago. Overall, we had a fun time. This is definitely the kind of place I would only visit with a group of friends and family. I don’t think I would want to be seated with strangers at the hibachi table. I’m just antisocial like that. lol. It was fun seeing my daughters’ and niece’s reaction to our chef’s antics. The older folks(my parents and in-laws) also enjoyed it. The food itself was ok, but I guess that’s expected since you are really there for the«show» the chef’s put on. My only complaint was that we had a reservation for opening time yet still had to wait a good half hour for our chef to get to our table to start dinner. Other than that, we had a good time.

No justification for an hour and a half wait to pickup a single to-go dinner. Pure laziness and bad business management.

Terrible food(sweet seaweed salad, poorly made rolls, undercooked Hibachi), terrible service(messed up the food, we had to ask for cutlery for the Hibachi, the check was brought in seconds, however…). Would not go back…

When it comes to your traditional sushi & hibachi restaurant, these guys are king. Every detail, from the exterior of the buildings, to décor, to the staff and the food makes you feel like you are in a legit Japanese restaurant on the other side of the Pacific. This place is an excellent place for groups with their hug hibachi style tables. The chefs are not only culinary masters, they are artists and entertainers that cook you meal while putting on a show for you. It’s a great place to celebrate an event, bring a client or take someone special on an intimate date. It has a homey feel because even if you dine alone, you’ll be seated with a few sets of people together at a hibachi table. The best deal here by far is the lunch special. Either the sushi or the hibachi lunch is insanely great. The icing on the cake is you get access to their salad bar and buffet, which while small, is full of lots of great little delicious treats to keep you full and then some. The buffet is unlimited & I usually end up taking a huge portion of my hibachi chicken lunch home. A fantastic place with delicious food. You have to do the lunch specials!

I visited with a group of coworkers for lunch. The hot app bar was yummy, try the tempura yams, and the salad bar was small, but fresh! The onion soup was delicious, but slightly salty… that is really my only complaint for the entire lunch. The cook put on a show, but was also quick since it was lunchtime. Everything was cooked perfectly and the portions are very large! I will have leftovers for at least one more meal! The service was exceptional as well! I highly recommend visiting this spot!

Please only go here in groups because that’s how you get the most out of the fun hibachi-ing. Free apps bar, check. Funny and friendly chefs, check. Wide variety of sushi menu aside from the hibachi menu, check.

The quality of food here is atrocious. It had no flavor, gloppy sauces, the seafood was the cheapest you could find. Somebody posted a beautiful pic of their scallops dish and what I got was a measly pile of tiny bay scallops in a burnt sour sauce with zero flavor. The hot appetizer bar is tasteless and greasy. Yes they give you a lot of tasteless food, that’s the only reason I can imagine people go here. Zero ambience, low lighting, nice people though. I haven’t been to hibachi in 15 years and if it’s another 15 it’ll be too soon.

Mt. Fuji had such a homey feel to it. I was happy to be there. The lights were dim and host seemed to be expelling a ton of good energy. My sister, her friend, and I opted for hibachi. We got access to the buffet that had salad and a bunch of fried food: veggie rolls, tofu, sweet potato. It also had chicken wings(lol). The hibachi chef was awesome. He didn’t flick the veggies in our mouths like they do in every other hibachi place I’ve been to, and I was super grateful because it was a Sunday, and I was just not in the mood. I appreciated all of his other silly tricks though. The shrimp app was yummy, as well as the fried rice and lo mein. They also weren’t greasy like I’ve experienced at other places. I had an abundance of scallops for my entrée. there were about 10 of them!(see pic!) I had so much leftovers that I ate it for lunch & dinner the next day! I really enjoyed myself and def. recommend it!
