We just moved to Haslet and scheduled our 6 month check-up and cleaning. We get them every six months. This place is a dental assembly line. Every nook and cranny has a dental chair and the dentist appears to pop in and out of each nook quickly. I’ve had 2 checks and cleanings every year for 12 years with no problems. Also, that includes four different dentists. I went here and all of a sudden found myslef involved in an impromptu«gum diesease check.» The hygienist laid me back in my chair and proceeded to quickly explain that she was about to perform a «gum diesease check.» She told me what numbers are bad and what are good. Then, in rapid fire style, she said the numbers out loud to her assistant leading to my anxiety. I don’t want gum diesease. Then, the«dentist» comes and opens my mouth, blurts out a bunch of letters and numbers to the assistant, and says she’ll send in the receptionist. The receptionist arrives with a list of all the things they found in my mouth and what the costs are to remediate them. The receptionist then informed me they could not clean my teeth until I purchased an «additional gum cleaning package.» Since I did not buy the gum package I was quickly escorted out of the assembly line. I called them once I got home and asked why I was not informed they operate this way, why there was no disclosure in the pre-op paperwork informing me they were going to perform a «gum disease check?» and the results from the check would determine if I’d get what I came there for: A check ANDCLEANING. They were apolgetic and told me that’s «just their poilcy.» I explained to them I was never informed of this practice nor was I pleased with how they treated me. Still, they said it’s their policy and that’s that. In addition, I have previous dental records at my past dentist as recent as March and they never onced asked. Instead they just zapped me with xrays over 10 times then billed my insurance with each zap; all while knowing they may not perform any work due to their«office protocol.» In conclusion, this place did not allow for informed consent between patient and doctor. I was never told they may not be able to clean my teeth due to office protocol before sitting down in the dental chair. This was the worst dental experience I’ve had in over 12 years.

I’m a Fort Worth transplant that needed a new, local dentist. I’m very happy to say I’ve found a great team over at Avondale Haslet Dental Center. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff at the front desk and was even called back 2 minutes before my appointment time. I had an excellent cleaning done by Laura and a thorough examination by Dr. Pizor.(I have a couple cavities, I know, shame on me!). Dr. Pizor is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what was going on, what procedures I needed, and how they would fix my cavities. It was very easy to make an appointment online. You can get texts and emails with appointment reminders. It’s a seamless operation over here. I’ll be back for fillings and future cleanings!
