My boyfriend and I arrived there on a Saturday afternoon. The gentleman there helped us right away and was very good at explaining all the wines to us. There was quite a wide variety of wines to sample from. We chose to do the $ 5 option and sample all of their wines. You can also take home the glass for another $ 5. They have a nice little seating area out back and a nice little vineyard to gaze at. A nice little escape that is still close to the cities.

This place has an amazing vibe and has great views outside. There is even a small fenced in dog park. Wine is decent for Minnesota. Highly recommend checking out!

What? Decent wine in Minnesota? I’m not joking. There are a lot of sweet(and I don’t mean good) wines in the midwest and few have yet to come up with a dry, full red that pleases me. Until Alexis Bailey! We have gone 3 times and done the tasting, its that good. it runs at $ 5 and you can try all 8. The dessert wines are extra, but worth it at least once. This place is so cozy– cabiny, warm. I could live here. Close enough to the cities its not a huge commitment, but far enough away it feels like a treat. For two months in the summer they have Sunday afternoon jazz and Sangria– its like time traveling. Last fall, when they were done harvesting their grapes, they gave out bags and shears and said we could take as many grapes home as we wanted. I made grape jam. They have a little shop with cheeses, crackers, olives, etc. for snacking and pairing. You can just wander the grounds with your glass of wine, exploring, lounging, playing bocce ball. This place is the vacation you need for an afternoon.

Most assuredly the best of the locally produced wines. The full tasting was excellent with solid choices to appeal to a wide variety of palettes and both Mark and David showed a great interest and knowledge base for wines as we went down the list. Being from this end of the twin cities, the location is something I highly appreciated — just off the main drags and far enough out to find some peace and quiet. The venue itself has a vet genuine rustic utilitarianism about. The dog is awesome as well.

We were very pleasantly surprised when we went to a wine tasting here. We went for a special tasting that including food pairings with seven of their wines. Not only were the wines much better than I anticipated, the food pairing choices were innovative and as enjoyable as the wines themselves! My favorite had to have been the teardrop peppers that were paired with their Voyager red wine. Absolutely wonderful! Also worth a mention is the Chocolate Reserve port. Normally, I am a purist with my wines and prefer that the flavor come from the grapes themselves or the aging process, however, this wine has a dark chocolate extract that has been added and I am now willing to make an exception. This was a wonderful wine and one that I would recommend. I can’t wait to bring this out at my next dinner party and show it off. The only snag we ran into was with the pricing. The website clearly stated the tasting was $ 10(no reservations required), but when we arrived we were charged $ 12. When we brought it to their attention instead of offering to adjust the price, or at least apologizing for the error, the woman behind the counter(Joan) was just plain rude. Considering that the rest of the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable we decided to just chalk it up to this person must be having a bad day. The grounds at this vineyard are also lovely. They have an enormous arbor covering a couple of bocce ball pits and a variety of tables and benches to accommodate those that want to take advantage of the beautiful weather while enjoying their wine. All in all I would highly recommend going for a tasting, you won’t be disappointed.

We stopped here over the Veteran’s Day weekend on a road trip along the river roads in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This was the first of several stops. This vineyard is one of the oldest and more well established int he area. ENVIRONMENT: Spacious and well appointed grounds and interior. Quite a bit of seating although the tables were too close together and seemed crammed. Well stocked gift shop. SERVICE: Staff were helpful and friendly. A big downside however: no crackers provided to cleanse the mouth between tastings and a stern«you can’t have food at the tasting bar» when we went to the gift shop to purchase our own — at an inflated price mind you. Plus the crackers for sale were either very salty or spiced. Perhaps they felt we were there just to get drunk and not appreciate their wines? I don’t know but it was disconcerting to say the least. We ended up sitting in the land of crowded tables but staff did bring the tastes to our table so kudos to them. WINE/FOOD: The tasting cost was five dollars with the staff requiring to see the money before the first pour. We were on the hunt for a dry red or white, but since all tastes vary I won’t go into detail except to say that we found three that we felt were decent(to be fair to the vineyard, its hard to overcome our Monterey County wine bias). However, the prices were a bit elevated for the offerings and given that even imported you can buy a fine California wine for less we probably won’t return frequently. OVERALL: A pretty place no doubt, and well worth a look see, but there are other vineyards with the same of better wines, more appropriately priced, and with the same ambiance or better. I would suggest that you bring a picnic lunch to avoid the high store prices for food, do your tasting, purchase a glass of wine, and then sit outside on a nice day. I originally gave it 3 stars but given the staff service and the lack of similar experiences throughout our trip I feel now this vineyard rates higher.

My fiancé and I were having a relaxing afternoon in Prescott, WI and decided to stop by Alexis Bailley Winery for a wine tasting. The winery closed at 5:30 and we didn’t get there until 5:15, but the staff graciously invited us in and reassured is that we could do a wine tasting. What happened from there on out was nothing short of amazing — not only were we insanely impressed with the quality of the wine given the relatively unknown status of the winery, but we were pleasantly surprised by how incredibly knowledgeable our wine guide was. After the delightful tasting, the staff invited us to sample some of the wines that were not on the menu and had been crafted specifically for the winery’s wine club members. We enjoyed all of the samples and ended up purchasing 2 bottles of wine for under $ 40 total. I have been to almost every winery in MN and this has been the most beautiful and enjoyable of them all. I strongly recommend the trip out to Alexis Bailley Winery — you will not regret it!
