I have eaten here probably four different times and all have been bad. Cold overlooked eggs are not for me. They can’t even cook bacon or pancakes. I tried multiple times just to give them a chance but it is still the same terrible food. The poor service is not desirable either. If you are not a usual customer they tend to ignore you. It is unfortunate that Hastings does not have other breakfast diner restaurants, if it did maybe people would stop coming to the Goldenrod.

Half way across this beautiful country of ours lies a breakfast mecca, a breath of salty, fresh air for two weary travelers. «Reminds you of your wedding, doesn’t it?», she says to him romanticizing a time when the two of them had stronger backs and more lust for each other. While she savored every bite of the fluffy pancakes and milky toast she thought of his cracked and dusty farmer fingers upon the sensitive skin of her fresh ZZ Top tramp stamp. «There’s lots of ham» he whispered. «The hash browns are crispy but not too crispy» she mused over her steaming biscuits and gravy — if you know what I means. As her naked child wailed in her bosom she sipped her coffee and dreamed again of her nights in the old jewish quarter of Paris. Good eats-​Super cheap!

The Goldenrod Café is a solid restaurant for breakfast food. I struggled with a rating for it…3 seems low, 4 seems high. It hovers in the 3.5 spot for me.
The best thing about this place? THE PRICES. This restaurant is so cheap, and the food is good especially for what you’re paying. It’s your standard café fare. Omelette’s, meats, biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, pancakes, waffles etc. All of it is good, but not outstanding.
The service here is pretty good as well. They are usually pretty busy, and the restaurant is small, but they get you in and out in a decent amount of time.
