Was in the area and needed a place to hang with the grandbaby for a few hours and let him run off some energy. Decided to pay the fee to enter of 5.00 a car for a day pass. I find this a bit steep for what it was and could find free places like this all over but oh-well – you never know until you try. The park was spread out with a ton of green space, trees, and picnic areas. The grounds were well manicured and clean enough. They have several large climbing pieces of playground equipment for various ages from little ones up to teens. There was a creepy man without children hanging around the play area with a phone – but he was not going to pull any shenanigans with this gigi on duty. I kept a good close eye on him.

We paid the $ 5 fee to enter this park and wish that we hadn’t. Don’t get me wrong this place is very pretty and extremely well maintained but it didn’t have any of the hiking trails we were hoping for. We have been to Afton State Park before and really liked it so we assumed this would be similar, it’s not. There are many amenities, play grounds, tennis courts, volleyball, boat launch, and camping. I think it would be great if you were planning to camp however it didn’t work for our needs. Also, it was eerily empty; we went to this park mid day on a beautiful June weekend and didn’t see a single person until we went back in the camp ground area. It wasn’t a bad thing per se it was just extremely odd.
