When we come back to Louisiana to visit we need a good crawfish fix. We did not expect that much from Shreveport because we associate crawfish with south Louisiana but we absolutely loved the food in this place. The crawfish is boiled right at the bar and brought hot to the table. The spices were just right and the beer was cold. We could not have asked for anything more.

First time trying crawfish and we were not disappointed. The server(owners son) was happy to show us how to eat them and very friendly. Crawfish, corn and potatoes were very spicy and tasty. Disappointed that they did not offer sweet tea and only canned pop, but loved the experience.

The crawfish isn’t good! It taste like they just threw season on top and served it. They definitely don’t know how to cook crawfish.

Best of the best, couldn’t have been happier with the meal! Little wait to get the food, well worth it!

The crawfish here were fantastic!!! The service was very friendly. And the atmosphere, which is like a big screened in patio with a bunch of fans, was exactly where you should be eating your mug bugs!

This one was a tough place to rate because there were so many peaks and troughs. I’m a Louisiana country boy so my palate for crawfish is strong and picky. The best crawfish boil I ever had was in New Orleans, but this place is a top 10 runner regarding taste. The problem I run into with most restaurants is their service; this place does not impress in that manner either. Quality First of all, regarding their crawfish, there is only one seasoning the restaurant uses for the mudbug which isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it does taste good, however, it would be nice to have some variety. It wouldn’t be a terrible notion to have at least«spicy» and«original» as options. I had the 3lb crawfish platter which came with 1 potato and 1 ear of corn. The food was well-seasoned but cold. It wasn’t freezing cold, but cooler than I am used to eating. I arrived here around 4:30pm so the crowd hadn’t gathered. I ordered a 2nd round somewhere close to 5:15 and the place was crowded. My 2nd platter was steaming hot! The quality of the food shouldn’t be dictated by how crowded the restaurant becomes. This segues into my next point: Service. Service While the crawfish may have been a high 3 or low 4, the service was roughly a mid-high 2, at best. I saw my waitress 3 times in my 1 ½ stint at the restaurant. Luckily, I was uninterested in another canned Coke product so condiments and drinks were superfluous, yet having them offered with some consistency and attention would have been nice. The waitress wasn’t friendly but wasn’t rude. She was just… there. The cool breeze from the being on the porch under the fans was the real reason my stay was so long. 2 platters, 2 cans sodas, and $ 50 later was an unimpressive meal. I hate to say it, but the food is decent, but not enough to make me «have» to go back for seconds. If the service was better, more homely with a kick of southern hospitality, I would be more inclined to rate higher. The restroom is outside, there are no fountain drinks, and worse NOSWEETTEA!!! This is Louisiana people! Sweet tea and Cajuns go hand/hand! Ultimately, I was disappointed, but if you have the money and want the country atmosphere, you will enjoy yourself.

Crawfish was great. Service was AWFUL. My child was dying of thirst and It was about an hour in before she got her second drink. After we asked 2 other servers if they could get us more drinks. It was pretty pathetic. We wanted more crawfish but apparently that wasn’t an option.

This place is probably the best kept secret in Shreveport! I am telling you, amazing don’t go anywhere else! Came into town from Nashville with my best friends and we have been let down on a couple other places. This was not one of them! Really cool atmosphere as well.

Excellent crawfish and shrimp! This is a great pace to go and just hang out with family and friends. Good food, atmosphere and priced right. It is an open setting so keep that in mind if it gets too hot outside.

I haven’t been to many Louisiana seafood markets but this one is very cool. On the outside it looks like a screened porch but the inside is nice. I’d never had crawfish before but I will be coming back. My friend is a big crawfish fan and thought these were some of the best he’s had. I like spicy food and these did not disappoint. While we waited for our 15 pounds we had some ice cold shiner. Frosty mugs! I moved from Pensacola so I’m a bit spoiled on shrimp. The shrimp here is average at best and the crawfish were excellent.

The crawfish was a little salty but very tasty. They do weigh the mud bugs prior to adding the corn and taters. The crawfish was tasty and large, but, a little tough to shell, the tails wouldn’t pull. The beer was cold the waiter a bit slow. All in all it was fun and a I enjoyed the atmosphere of the picnic style eating. I’ll be back.

Great crawfish, real French fries and awesome shrimp. It is a Southern LA type place. It does have outdoor bathrooms, but the food is good and the beer is cold!

Our search for crawfish, or rather saltfish, culminated here at Crawfish Palace. The place in and of itself was a cool local hangout. I give it one star for that. I guess there just isn’t a good place to eat crawfish in the Shreveport area. The crawfish here was just atrocious, full of salty seasoning. I had high hopes, but again sorely disappointed. I’ll just stick to what I know, and close to home for crawfish in the future. Oh, and the bathrooms were horrible, one step up from a portable potty. Gah-ross!

Overall — about 4.5 stars. This place was recommended by a local for crawfish, and I can see why. It’s a divey place, with the washrooms being an outhouse, but that’s part of it’s hole-in-the-wall charm. They also have a homey, airy, and open dining room, with numerous fans and Cajun décor. And the crawfish — wow, it can turn a non-believer like myself into one. The juicy meat freshness, the delicate brittle shells of the crawfish, and the mild but noticeable spice level were distinctive. I compared it to crawfish I’ve had at say Joe’s Crab Shack(just one example) in Midwest, and there’s no comparison. I’m told, and believe, this place stands out amongst scores of restaurants in the area offering crawfish. It’s been run for past 14 years by Thai folks. I knocked rating back a ½ star, just based on value — it’s still not that cheap in the end at $ 5 per lb. The three of us had a 3 lb. crawfish platter and a lb. of boiled shrimp, with two sodas, and total was $ 33.40 pre-tip. All-in-all though, a very memorable Cajun experience. Memo to file — I need to learn to eat crawfish like the locals, efficiently sucking in meat on one side, and spitting the shells out of other side of mouth at virtually the same time — what an art!

Ate here a couple times. You get a small ear of corn on the cob, a couple small red boiled potatoes and whole crawfish covered in Cajun seasoning. You can also order crawfish by the pound to go. The place seems to get a lot of business at times, but not a place we go to much.
