If you are out on a leisurely stroll of the antiques and art venues in Havana, FL you are bound to come-across the Mockingbird Café. It’s a quaint ivy covered place with ample seating both inside and out. Their menu is simple but doesn’t lack in richness of flavor and style. My husband and I visit from time to time for their distinctive black beans and rice which have a delectable twist from the traditional Cuban. I’m also a fan of their chicken salad and refreshing BIG cups of tea. Speaking of cups, they serve you and sell hand thrown pottery(not cheap). They also offer some evenings of music and champagne Sunday brunches and a myriad of other events. If you live within a 30min to 45min drive it’s worth it as a treat to get out of the ‘norm’ and either before or after your meal enjoy a stroll in the nearby shops. Parking in this area is free and they are right off of Hwy27. bonappetit
