I like the super beef from there however it seems like its gotten way less beef then they use to have. Tasty sandwich but they’ve gotten cheap on the amount of roast beef they put on there sandwiches.

Ordered a super roast beef… got home and it was completely flat when opened and barely any beef. Called and was told that they are not playing games with me and to call her boss. After getting no answer sent a text picture of the sandwich and the owner said good and stay out. Went to the store with sandwich in my hand and the girl was on the phone fabricating this huge story so I asked to speak with with the owner. Owner yelled and said something about some guy getting free chicken fingers. I told him I just want my money back then some cocky teenager walked up with a handful of meat and put it on the sandwich and said«it’s five ounces!» The owner heard this and said leave now or I’m calling the cops. Go to Steve’s it’s down the street and about 3 inches thicker than the one I got. When I told the delivery guy from Steve’s he said his friend worked at Chicks and they took the meat from the slicer that fell into the scrap tray from the whole day and made sandwiches with it. Stay away! For picture proof look at the pictures I posted. First picture is their sandwich online and second is what I was served.

Haven’t been to Chick’s in quite a while. Got a large RB on an onion roll with Sauce and cheese and it was as delicious as it was back when I’ve eaten there in the past. Service was friendly and fast and the prices are good. I don’t know how the younger generation eats at Subway when there are still local roast beef joints like this cooking and putting out real food.

I am giving this 5 stars ONLYYY for the junior roast beef. It’s AMAZING!!! It’s the only thing I eat from here(tried the fries once and hated them) but the roast beef sandwiches are some of the best I’ve ever had.

Artys is closed today so I’m trying chicks again for the first time in about a decade: Well, it was OK. Not great, not terrible. It was a roast beef and it was good. We ordered a large fry and those were HUGE. I mean like a plethora of fries– a good value fo’ sho’. I would take or leave Chicks. I prefer Arty’s but I would consider going here again if Arty’s was closed. I liked the fries. The parking is difficult at times because of the awful traffic pattern in Bradford Sq, I recommend getting the food to go and going a short hopskipandjump down the street to the yacht club to eat while watching the stinkin merrimack.

The biggest problem with Chicks is that it’s inconsistent. When the food is good it’s GREAT!(In a sub shop way…) but you don’t always get great food. Also service is very slow. If you call in an order for pick up, they wait to drop the fries until you show up. Usually if I am getting take out and I’ve called it in it’s because I don’t want to wait around.

Quality and quantity keeps going down while the price keeps going up! I go to Steve’s RB now.

Roast beef is not supposed to be served raw. And the server should know this.

I am so disappointed so I hope i just caught them on an off day. :-(Called in for a junior roast beef and was told ten minutes. I get there and its not ready and they say they are slammed. Okay no worries. I asked for the RB to be not too red, but pink. well for $ 4.15 I got meat that was like hamburger meat. No pink to be seen anywhere. And I kid you not, it was the size or maybe a tad smaller than a Mcdonalds single burger w t F. So I will probably give them one more shot some time, but pretty disappointed. I hear Daddys across the way is very good, maybe I will give them a shot next time.

From stale buns to fatty roast beef, they never got my order right in the three timed I’ve gone there, how hard is it to not use an onion roll, when instructed to. I’m not sure why people keep going there, back in the day(early 90tys) that was the place to eat, but now it’s sad and greasy. Too bad it’s right by my house and I’d rather travel to north Andover for my roast beef. Sorry chicks time for a make over!!!

I used to order from Chick’s all the time and stuck to the roast beef. It was always good, delivery came quickly and prices were reasonable. Nowadays if I order, I stop by(to save the delivery fee). The roast beef is still pretty good. I usually like darker fries, but their pale thin fries do it for me. They also make a good fried mushroom but I’m pretty damn sure they’re not hand breaded so can’t give tons of credit. I wavered from my roast beef getting ways to grab a pastrami. Suffice it to say, their pastrami isn’t distinguished from any other sub shops pastrami. I’ll stick to the roast beef.

Really good roast beef sandwiches. Large sizes come on an onion roll at no extra charge and the buns are toasted/grilled which makes for a nice crunch in a soft sandwich. The fries are really good and note that a large size will easily feed 4.

Chicks has good service and great sandwiches! The pastrami reuben sandwich is the best I have ever had in my life. The staff was very friendly, the service was a little slow, but the quality of the food was worth the wait. The place is clean, has plenty of seating, and a big menu to choose from(including frappes and slush!!). Give chicks a try!

went for the first time the other day for lunch. A friend bragged about the roast beef. it was gone in 3 bites. Harrison’s blows it away. The onion ring batter fell off as they were limp, cold and tasteless also. I ordered a greek salad to go. Mostly iceberg lettuce, a few onions a half tomato and a couple of olives. Loaded with feta. No peperricinis which would have made up for the blandness. A little disappointing

The absolute worst food. I never thought a simple sandwich shop could put out such lousy food. We stopped in after skiing at Bradford for a quick roast beef sandwich and although we were starving, we regretted it. The sandwiches were disappointing and served with cold beef. Unlike other shops who serve their RB warm, Chick’s serve cold beef on toasted buns. I like warm, toasted buns but I also like the beef to be hot or at least warm as well. The fries were ho-hum — nothing special but we were totally grossed out to find a couple of long human hairs in one of our fries. YUK! Also, I paid with a credit card(they are not cheap) and gave the young girl at the counter a $ 3.00 tip but didn’t receive a thank you which isn’t a big deal, but, you’d think a ‘thanks’ could be offered back. Also, the inside of the bathroom doors are filled with profanity filled graffiti — not kid friendly. Bottom line: Very disappointed and I’ll never return as there are too many other better options.

It’s Friday night, and it’s been a long work week. But I’ve promised the kids bowling. But before we go, i need some food and fast or my energy is going to be nonexistent. I head towards the bowling alley, and hope to find fast food along the way. And Chick’s enters my line of sight, and suddenly, a roast beef sandwich sounds a whole lot more appealing than a fast food burger and fries. The decision is made. The place is relatively quiet for a Friday night. No line at the counter. So I order my roast beef sandwich, and the boys a steak ‘n chz with an order of chicken fingers. I pay a few cents shy of twenty, and I’m thinking, that’s pretty damn expensive for a sub shop. But I toss the thought aside and hope the food is worth the money. I find a table and sit with my sons. And I wait. Almost 25 minutes later, I’m still waiting. I’m watching the pizza shop across the street through my window, and people are coming and going. I’m still waiting. I think about what I ordered. Roast beef that’s already prepared, chicken fingers that take a few minutes in the fryer, and a steak ‘n chz that is quickly done on the grill. They’re not terribly busy, so as a girl who’s worked a pizza shop, I know my food should already be done. Ten minutes later my food makes it’s way out. I don’t complain, rather just hope that my patience will have paid off. I couldn’t be more wrong. My sandwich was ice cold, and while the roast beef had a decent flavor, it was soggy, and the bun wasn’t toasted. I am severely disappointed in this sandwich, also in the meager amount they did throw on this bun. I take a bite out of my son’s steak ‘n chz, and almost want to gag it out of my mouth. The cheese tastes as if it’s been sitting out for an entire week. My youngest looks at me as I say, ‘Garbage!’, and informs me that his chicken fingers didn’t get screwed up. I tell him it’s not so hard to throw frozen food in a deep fryer, any idiot can handle that. As I’m leaving, I notice that two men that had ordered nearly twenty minutes after me, received their food in less than half the time, and they had double the food. They told me to have a great night as I walked out still hungry and now irritated, thinking that Wendy’s down the street would have been the better choice. I shot her a look, and as I shuffled my sons out the door, my oldest said, «I doubt we’ll be back there to eat!»
