When the kids were little we would go here once a week! Then as life goes on and things change I kinda forgot about DJ’s, Until last week! We stopped in after a long 12 years, give or take. Unbelievable the bread is the freshest around, the size and the price can’t be beat! The quality of the food is second to none. Sorry it’s been so long, see you next week!

I’m a regular customer and have been for 10 plus years. Excellent subs and very reasonably priced. I’ve never once been disappointed at DJ’s Roast Beef. Great Food Great People!!!

I have been ordering from DJ’s from over 15 years. I also grew up with the family. The owner Zoey works ALL day EVERY day with just a few days off a year — from 11am until close. The food is the cheapest around. 20″ subs for $ 8 and under. Their cheeseburgers specials are only $ 6 and their small subs are equivalent to a large sub elsewhere. Even their Steak Bombs are the cheapest around! If you want to feed a family of 3 for under $ 25 this is the place to go…

BESTSUBSEVER. I’ve had a lot of subs from places like this, but DJ’s is literally the best I’ve ever had. You can get a grilled chicken 16″ sub(which is a small at DJ’s) with everything on it for somewhere around $ 4.80, which is incredible! The food quality is extremely high, and the lady who owns the place is very personable and nice. I love eating there. DJ’s proves that you can’t judge a sub place by how the store looks on the outside. If you haven’t had a sub here, you’re missing out big time!

Everybody loves DJ’s! You know you’re getting a huge sub for cheap, with good ingredients. Staff is great, owner lady has been working there forever and is super sweet. Always try to come here when I’m in town.

Best subs in town !!! Always busy the steak bombs and pastrami are the best. The pizza is delicious and where can you get a 12 inch cheese pizza for under $ 4. The owner and her 3 lovely workers are the best never had customer service like they give no matter how busy they always have a smile and provide great service. !!! GOTODJ’S YOUDONTKNOWWHATYOURMISSING!!! Why they put a subway 2 doors down is beyond me that’s like a business suicide for subway…

The subs were HUGE and cheep! Plus they were delish! The staff was friendly. This is a hidden gem! I had the roast beef and my husband had the steak and cheese it was so good! The best part is the 8 $ sub for my husband was almost too much for him to eat it was so big! This man is a 250 lb body builder he can pack it in! So all in all great food, great prices and good service!

This place is amazing. The prices are incredibly low, your order is ready in 15 minutes, the portions are HUUUGE(I think the subs must be18″ long?) and it’s really good food. For the prices, you would think it’s just quantity over quality, but no… the pizza is great, steak and cheese subs are great, and the sweet Greek lady at the counter always has some awesome Baclava on hand.

Roast Beef made cold with provolone BBQ and Mayo is utopia. Best sandwich for $ 7EVER! Their subs are also 20″ and at least two meals. Best secret in riverside.

I love this place and their roast beef subs are amazing. I usually pick two up once or twice a week and my kids eat it for lunch, after football and for a snack in general. The sub is huge, the french bread is fresh and the roast beef is the best ever! I also really appreciate the fact that this is family owned and the owner is soo nice.

Before saying anything about the food, I have to preface everything by saying that the woman who runs this place is one of the absolute hardest working woman I have ever seen. My family and I have ordered here for years and she has always been the one there when we did. So, if she seems tired when you order, don’t hold it against her, she’s actually very nice and likely is just worn out after a long day. Now, to the food. There are a few things that DJ’s does VERY well. The subs in particular have some of the best bread I have ever seen; chewy and malleable while still holding up well and having a soft interior. The meatballs are a great in a sub or to spice up a pizza. The popcorn chicken and chicken fingers are phenomenal and the french fries have that thick, crisp layer that is comparable to Burger King’s. A word of warning though: if anyone has ordered fish recently, the scent seems to stick to the fries as well. I’m not a big fan of the pizza, which I find rather bland. Years ago they made greek-style but have shifted to a thinner italian-style version. If you order any water-heavy veggie topping, be prepared for the cheese to be slightly undercooked. I haven’t seen it myself, but have heard the fish plates aren’t worth it either. Overall, the place is quick, the prices are low, and a lot of the food really shines. The phone line isn’t great though, so make sure to enunciate and have the order read back to you.

I shop not only at Building 191⁄6 but also at more prestigious places like Ocean State and 5 below. so, accordingly, I don’t like to eat here because it is cheap(which it is), and not because it is good value(which it definitely is), but because the food was good food. alas, the people at the counter were friendly, so I would like to come back.

So I have to review this place because I’ve been going here for like 6 years, maybe longer. The most noteworthy comment is holy cheap. Also, unless you’ve been here and KNOW the sub sizes, you probably want a Small. A large is literally two full feet long. You need to fold your back seats down just to get it home. A small on the other hand is your standard large size, one foot long. The vege’s/fruits are reasonably fresh, and the subs are always packed full. Pizza is good too, as are their appetizers. This place is so cheap that you can get a ton of stuff. I’d get a small vegetarian sub, mozzarella sticks and a small pizza for like $ 12. Or just a small(12″) vege sub will run you about $ 3. The prices are nuts, I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere. The downside is that it’s not exactly a nice place to go. You’re not likely going to want to eat there, unless your standards aren’t high. It’s your standard pizza place but after 20+ years of operation. Add in that it’s next to Building 19 and sometimes you get some… colorful characters in there. It’s also cash only. But if you’re on your way home and want some lunch and have a few bucks in your pocket you can’t go wrong here. UPDATE: I agree with J.J. If you’re a snob you won’t be happy here.

WOWSA!!! You definitely get a lot of food for the money at DJ’s Roast Beef! Most items are under $ 10, many closer to $ 5. After shopping at Building 19−1÷6 in the Riversedge Plaza, I can really work up an appetite! What better place to grab lunch than to go next door to DJ’s Roast Beef, which is a true«hole in the wall» serving HUGE roast beef sandwiches and other food at «steal» prices. The place is a «DIVE» and is very cramped with a takeout counter, Pepsi cooler, five formica booth seats for dine-in packed in a corner and 3 stools from the door to the counter for waiting. Just by stopping here around lunchtime, the place is very packed with most folks getting their food to go. The Roast Beef Sandwich has thinly sliced tender medium well roast beef(not bloody) with choice of toppings(lettuce, tomato, may, horseradish, onions) served on a large bulkie. Besides the great roast beef sandwiches, they offer pizza, subs(10″ &20″ sizes), bulkies, salads, plate specials, side orders, and bottled drinks. I can get my favorites such as a whole 20″ Crabmeat Sub for $ 6.72 with tax and a Roast Beef Plate which includes a roast beef sandwich, fries, and a pizza roll for $ 4.92 with tax, what a deal! Sometimes they offer a small cheese pizza special for only $ 2.50. DJ’s Roast Beef is not elaborate and is a great place for cheap eats. I could pay twice as much at Kelly’s Roast Beef for the similar amount of food. The food and great value for little money earns DJ’s Roast Beef a five star rating in my book. Most Unilocalers would agree! It’s now on my list for YASMG– Yet Another Strip Mall Gem!!!
