The tailor told me it would cost $ 50 to hem an unlined skirt. There are one of two things going on here: 1) he really does charge $ 50 to hem an unlined skirt, which is outrageous; 2) he didn’t want to do the work and wanted to scare me out of his store by asking more than double what a simple hem should cost. Both of these things make him a bad businessman who does not understand customer service. He did not want to do the hem, fine. Why not just tell the truth? Horrible experience.

The first time I went here — I was quite impressed. Giorgo seemed to know his stuff and was very passionate about it. He tailored my suit but I have not yet worn it. The second time, I simply dropped off a jacket to have the sleeves shortened. I indicated that I needed it in a week’s time for a wedding. I called back the day before the wedding to find out it wouldn’t be ready until Tuesday. What could I do? I still needed it for another wedding the following week. Called back on Wednesday. Still not ready. I’m moving on to another tailor, which is a shame, because I have more work that needs to be done. Cash only, as well. And his prices seem to come in higher than a lot of the quotes/estimates I read online.
