I was looking for a «just the right thing» piece of furniture for my home office. It had to be industrial contemporary with just a touch of rustic. After searching furniture stores, antique stores, etc. I finally came upon the young couple that are K Modern. What I loved about them is they a) listened to what I was looking for b) willingly drew up a couple options for designs for me and c) worked with the color wood I really wanted. One option was antique (100+ years old) barn board that was awesome, but wouldn’t serve the function we needed. Scott came up with the perfect grey stain on newer wood that got me JUST what I really wanted. It’s a beautiful piece of furniture that melds form and function perfectly for me. Bonus: they had a terrific antique metal work stool that completed my desk set. I highly recommend them for design, execution and delivery! It was great to see some of their other work at the mill in Haverhill — be sure to check them out!
