Elegance Hair Salon

My husband turned me onto this place, he’s been coming here for years. Lily has always done a great job with his hair and beard. About six weeks before our wedding, I went with my him and saw a cut Stephanie had done– and on the spot made an appointment with her for a cut and color two weeks before the wedding. Stephanie is friendly and great for conversation, and I really enjoyed my appointment. I have never had a cut I’ve loved more, and the color was gorgeous. On the day of my wedding, my mother told me that while when I first got the cut she thought it was too short, but now that it had grown for two weeks it was perfect. She added that Stephanie «obviously knew what she was doing». I will never again have my hair done anywhere else! The salon is lovely and not stuffy at all, and everyone who works there is so friendly and fun to talk to. You know it’s good when your husband enjoys his time at the salon as much as you do. We always come out of Elegance looking fantastic. We are so lucky to have found this place!

I came to Elegance as a client of mine had a beautiful hair cut. Her highlights were really lovely as well, but at the time I was only interested in getting a good cut as my former hair stylist was not consistent. I scheduled with Zohra who had cut my client’s hair and I absolutely loved my new cut. I followed her recommendations for styling and care and have been very happy with the results. I was still coloring on my own, but not pleased with it as it was always coming out too dark. Zohra had suggested highlighting and I was very nervous about it, but finally decided to try it. She did a superb job, giving me subtle highlights that took years off me! My husband and son love it and friends have commented positively on the change. Zohra is extremely knowledgeable about hair and how to style it. She also has the design ability to see what works best for each customer. She will never recommend any change that will not look good on you. She is a dream and I am so happy I have found her!

This is the only place I take my daughter to get her hair done. Stephanie is amazing. My daughter has very long thick curly hair and Stephanie always makes it look amazing. She did my daughter’s hair for prom yesterday and did an incredible job!!!

After looking at the reviews on Unilocal, I decided to give Elegance a try. I should have looked closer at the dates.
Easy enough to book an appointment, through even after spelling my common name to the lady, it was still wrong on the books. Granted this is a petty complaint, but it added to my aggravation. Once I arrived, I saw a sign saying that tips weren’t able to be put on credit cards. Again, pretty petty, but since I had walked to the appointment I had to walk to a ATM to withdraw cash, thus also adding to my agitation. The lady did offer to let me come back with the tip another day, but I don’t like to leave people hanging like that.
Lily was nice, but I felt that she didn’t have a lot of experience. The head lady gave me to her, because she just had her nails done. Yeah. The consultation was one of the worst I’d ever had. She asked if I had a picture. I guess this is common for some people, but as an adult going to a professional salon, I expect a professional to advise me. If I want the number 4, I’ll go to a chain place. I advised that I didn’t mind it shorter but not too short, and to have all the dead ends off. No real follow up questions from Lily.
To make a long story short (too late), she didn’t listen to my needs, nor advise or consult with anyone about the cut. I was clearly pissed off and cut all the extras short, even refusing hair spray. After working in customer service for over 14 years, I have a huge tolerance and empathy for others in the business, but not if you are clueless. Now need to find another place to fix the cut.

Zohra did a wonderful job on my hair! I got a great trim and beautiful, natural looking highlights. She seemed to understand just what I wanted within only knowing me for a few minutes. She is very sweet and personable and the whole experience was great. I will definitely go back to her again. I’m getting married in 7 months so she was showing me pictures of make-​up she’s done as well as up-​dos. Although she may not be available the day of my wedding, for local weddings, she’d be a great person to look into.

I got the best hair cut of my life here and was so happy I even went back to try eyebrow threading. Zohra is amazing.

Great salon in great location. Stephanie gave me daughter a wonderful haircut. My daughter is very picky and loved her new style. Zohra always gives me a great cut. I always leave there very satisfied. Prices are competitive; very reasonable.

Just got back from my first visit to Elegance and I couldn’t be happier with my hair! I am someone who has a lot of negative experiences getting my hair colored so I am always nervous when I try a new stylist. However, Zohra left me looking fabulous! I had my hair cut and colored and I love it. The price was also beyond reasonable. My search for a salon is over!

Stephanie did a fantastic job cutting and styling my hair! I had avoided the small salons along Darby Road for the first year and a half I lived here, thinking it was surely better to drive to Bryn Mawr. (You know, because it’s Bryn Mawr — wow, better!) Still, after one last so-​so cut and poor highlighting job at said Bryn Mawr salon, I decided to break with my prejudices and trust Unilocal.I’m glad I did, as I haven’t been this happy with a cut in years. I’m even happy with the job she did styling my hair. I had decided years ago not to care about this, since I could always wash out the awful «de-​frizzing» serums that flatten out my hair and don’t even work, but it was a delightful bonus for Stephanie to use products that actually do work, and pull out a straightening iron to do the job right.

This is the best hair salon in Delco. Stephanie does the most amazing color and cuts. If you want threading, you need to see Zohra! Lily is great for a manicure and pedicure! I have been a client of Elegance for 2 years now and I won’t go anywhere else. The entire staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome.
