Cozy and close to our house, no complain! Fast service, yummy creamed chipped beef and french fries. Will def go back and try their other offerings. People who complain about this place may not understand that this is «comfort food», not Continental Midtown. I am glad they are around! For ambiance, I definitely prefer chillin’ here than at Llanerch.

Good breakfast joint. Large, tasty portions and fast service. That’s the only reason they are getting 4 stars; my friend and I felt a tad rushed, and it wasn’t overly crowded. Still, I will be back!

I have only been there for breakfast twice but it is the best I have ever had. The chipped beef and home fries are. Excellent. Service was excellent by a young women who was very good at her job. You should try this place.

We love this place! We eat her at least two to three times a month. Friendly staff and great food! Have never been disappointed. Great addition to the Oakmont community

The food is great, the service is not always perfect but there is no question they seek to please, and the experience is still pleasant.

Not a great experience. Visited 6⁄21 Fathers’ Day. Seated quickly but someone/thing lost our order. Waitress? Cook? Computer? So simple breakfast came about 35m after we were seated. The wall next to us was splattered w/something. Yuk. Finally and most egregious to me is the throw-away plastic drinking cups. They must chuck hundreds a day, and obviously they have a dishwasher. Server was pleasant, food was hot and tasty.

Not too many places still have chipped beef, and it was great here. Place can get very crowded on the weekends for breakfast. Serving size is very generous here, and the service is friendly, but frantic due to the busyness of the place. Great food, so I can see why.

Visited: Friday — May 8, 2015 — 10:30AM Brief update: additional seating to the left of entrance due to adjoining building renovation. The good food, service, and friendly staff is unchanged.

I would say I come to the Havertown Grill once a week. The food and service are always good. I never write reviews but the Havertown Grill is deserving of my time.

Stopped in for lunch with my friend. I am always pulled here for breakfast because I love their breakfast, but was so glad we stopped in for lunch! I had a chicken pita and some fries. So delicious! The bread was so soft and the chicken was delicious. The fries were fresh out of the fryer and perfect. My friend had a Cobb salad and it looked fantastic. Once again, the service was great. Fast and friendly. It reminded me why I love this place. The owner and chef always greets me and makes sure everyone is happy and everything tastes alright. They also did a great job expanding the restaurant. It’s more comfortable now and an fit a decent sized party comfortably.

I recently went for brunch at the Havertown Grille and I have to say, it was just okay. It’s like a number of other places I’ve been to and nothing really stood out to me. The décor was bland and the food was decent, but nothing spectacular. Despite being busy we were seated fairly quickly and the service was good. The portions are huge so I was able to get another breakfast out of it. I think there are better options in the area but for a basic diner-type experience, this is a safe choice.

I have to hand to it Havertown, they just cannot get food right. Literally every establishment that opens here is all hype but no bite. It’s almost as if the residences here are used to bad food, making them completely oblivious when something low quality is served to them. There is just something in particular about pizza and breakfast that this town cannot figure out. It’s hard to go into detail about eggs, bacon and toast… so I’ll just lay it on the line. Everything was low quality. Typical cheap diner eggs probably purchased in orders of 500. The bacon, the one thing that is hard to hate no matter how long it has been sitting out was also a huge disappointment. Hash browns were more like hash… no browning. I left what little faith I had remaining in the rye toast, only to be shot down to see that the cheap diner butter packets I received were completely frozen solid. New places in this town make the residences heads spin. They attack it in packs like hungry wolves and will keep returning to their newest feeding ground without taking any time to critique what exactly they are eating. Just venture down the street to the Llanerch Diner, get a decent breakfast.

My husband and I tried Havertown Grille for the first time on Sunday morning. Loved it! Service was friendly but not intrusive to our conversation. I always order 2 eggs over medium when I go out for breakfast. It’s amazing how many places don’t do that properly. This place made them perfectly. Same for the scrapple. Food was hot– always a big deal for me. Our tea cups were refilled without having to flag down a server. To me it’s all these little things that make for a very pleasant experience. We will be going back. It’s so good to see Havertown getting some decent restaurants.

I have been to the Havertown Grille a few times for breakfast and the place is consistently good! I brought my kids there this morning and my one daughter enjoyed a short stack of pancakes while my other daughter and I each got the creamed chipped beef. The portions are huge and quite tasty! It was so large that we probably could have split the dish but at least I have leftovers to enjoy later… the service was very good as well. The place is small and there was a short wait for a table but that’s a good sign, plus they turn tables quickly. I don’t think they have a kids menu which would be nice… but overall a positive experience again. We will be back!

Where to begin? I have been there for breakfast a few times and I can’t seem to steer away from the breakfast burrito. Its the perfect ratio of chorizo, peppers, onions and egg in your choice tortilla. I have also had their breakfast sandwhiches and they are equally amazing, plenty of combinations and the eggs are cooked perfectly. for lunch, so many great options. I normally get their Chicken Gyro, which is filled abundantly with chicken, L/T/O and amazing tzetki sauce. Their club sandwhiches, burgers are also great. But their salads are amazing. So fresh and so much chicken! Only complaint is that they are not open on Mondays and for dinner or I would go there even more!!!

Are you looking for a solid breakfast joint in Havertown or the surrounding area? Look no further, I give you the Havertown Grille! I haven’t been home in some time and it’s nice to see that a good breakfast place is within walking distance of my house. Nothing fancy here, this is down home, no frills breakfast. Convenient parking next to Hoopty’s is the best bet for easy access. We came on the weekday so it wasn’t super busy and we were able to grab a four top by the wall. A one page breakfast menu offers the classic options, pancakes, french toast, omelets, bacon, sausage, and of course, scrapple(a local favorite). I opted for one of the omelet specials, a chorizo omelet with onions and peppers topped with salsa and served with a side of hash browns. This is a three egg omelet and was crammed with big chunks of chorizo with bell peppers and onions. This was a monstrous omelet and I got full well before I was able to clean my plate clean. The table was very pleased with this breakfast joint for the fast and friendly service and the delicious food. The price is right and I can see why they pack a crowd in here on the weekends. When I’m back home I’d be more than happy to come back here for a quick breakfast.

I am glad to have found a good, family run breakfast/Lunch spot because there are so few of these left in Delco. And its not in my neighborhood but totally worth the 20 minute drive. Check out Steven B’s review for most of the details as he has hit it all. I went on a a Saturday morning and couldn’t have been more pleased. I had the short stack with a side of creamed chipped beef. Both were homemade and you could taste the love. The pancakes reminded me of my grandmother’s and the chipped beef was awesome. Coffee was very good and refilled often The owners and workers have put the word SERVICE back into the restaurant experience. Service was quick, cordial, respectful. I took my time and never felt rushed. When looking behind the counter while they were cooking and getting drinks you got the feeling everyone communicates well because I was impressed with the coordination. Sure, you had your server but based on watching them I got the impression everyone took ownership of ensuring my experience was good. Having only see this type of service in Lancaster or Cumberland Counties the last 10 years, I was very happy to see this in Delaware County. I will be going back.

The old Hanne’s has gone which I along with a majority of Havertown and surroundings knew oh so well. Little sigh on my end, no more tea cooler being served, but it sure is a whole lot cleaner and brighter. Coming in here I’m still not used to the clean counter, floors and tables, a nice little flat screen hanging in the wall. What is this improvement? cleanliness? a clean grill? I am still at awe of these improvements. Great ladies here doing a fabulous job. Almost gives you that home like feel, Miss Tina does a good job making sure your have everything you need, replenishes your coffee or tea with out even asking. Lauren another waitress here is on her game, friendly and nothing but smiles going on over here. Met the owner in Nick, who also wheels the spatula, a former restaurant owner in Philly. He had catered to a lot of the breakfasts where he was coming from, so expect a great meal from him. My first visit I went pancakes, 3 big beautiful fluffy flapjacks, with a side of bacon. Nothing but delicious, almost plate fillers that covered a good portion of the dish. The bacon was nice sized strips, cooked just right. Wasn’t burnt, wasn’t chewy, you know what it was. Simply perfect. I came in here again with breakfast again on my mind, seeing I was very pleased with my first visit. I had heard from others that the french toast was a great dish also, so you know I had to go a little Texas style. Texas style french toast with powdered sugar on top, these 6 pieces were fantastic. Perfectly made, golden brown and just delicious. I had asked for a side of sausage and hash browns to compliment and full fill my meal. The sausage links were not little skinny links either, these were some big boys. I was pleased with them, great taste to them mixed with a little syrup and we are all smiles here. The hash browns were even better, I had asked Nick if he could throw some onions in the mix with the order of hash browns. Great meal, great crew, fresh brewed coffee, clean and all in all just right. **side note ** If you want to get a table or counter seating the best time is during the week. This place is packed during the weekends.

The Reverend Dr. Steak, the Young ‘Un and I headed over to check out their breakfast. It’s a storefront in a small strip with a township parking lot just a few steps away. For those familiar with Downtown Havertown, they are in the space formerly occupied by Hanne’s Breakfast Nook. The restaurant is small in a cozy way, brightly lit, freshly painted and very clean. The grill area gleams. There’s a long granite counter with stools for seating and about 8 — 10 tables, mostly 2 tops but there are some 4 tops as well. This is a simple, comfort food/greasy spoon menu(the food was NOT greasy, it’s more of a genre in my mind). They serve breakfast and lunch staples — eggs, french toast, chipped beef, burgers, sandwiches, salads. As we do with every new breakfast space, we had the chipped beef — a metric, of sorts, for us, and also the french toast. Both were very very good. Beef was ranked slightly below Gateway II Café but above Hymies. French toast was nicely done, firm but not chewy or soggy. Scrapple ONTHEFLATTOP was very good as was the bacon. Service was excellent and the price was very reasonable — we ate for $ 22 not including tip.
