Smoothie King

When I saw this SK under construction… I couldn’t have been anymore pleased.
After my first visit – I couldn’t have been anymore disappointed.
I lived in Jacksonville (Baymeadows Road) for several years and SK was a great healthy alternative. So I was excited to give this one a try.
First thing I noticed – the eternity of service. It took the group of kids (didn’t notice ANY adults behind counter) at least 7 – 10 minutes just to take my order. I didn’t order anything that strayed from the menu. Green blast something with a shot of liquid vitamin.
It took no less than ANOTHER 10 minutes to make the bleepin thing. The smoothie I got was not the product I expected from SK. The first thing I noticed — that it was almost devoid of any flavor except sugar. Secondly, the liquid vitamin that I paid extra $ for… clearly was not added.
It was essentially a $ 10 Slurpee. I’ll just go up Eagle Road to 7 – 11 next time.
Not sure who the «launch team» was on this franchise, but they get a #fail from me. Someone clearly was not supervising a group that needed a healthy dose of supervision, guidance and remediation.
I’ll give it one more try in a few months — if it changes, I will be fair and update this post.

This was my first time coming the menu was essy to read and the cashier was very helpful. Will definitely come back again.

When I saw there was a Smoothie King opening SO close to my place of residence, I was really excited. I yelled «SMOOTHIE KIIIIIING!» every time we drove by while it was under construction. Imagine how happy I was when I realized that it finally opened.
I stopped by for a meal replacement smoothie for lunch. I picked the Blueberry Heaven smoothie on a whim since I was in the drive through and didn’t really have time to peruse the menu. The fellow working the drive through was super nice and had my order ready quickly. The smoothie itself tasted really fresh and delicious. It almost had a vanilla ice cream type flavor to it. Thank you, vanilla protein powder!
The smoothie kept me full up until the late evening, so it definitely did it’s job. I’m looking forward to trying more flavors.

OK, so I may have exaggerated a little but these folks have a smoothie for just about everything!

* Vegan everything — Check!
* Muscle Punch — Check!
* Win the Lottery — Check!
Maybe I was exaggerating again on that last one but you get the idea.
I stopped in on day two and it was a madhouse. I spent about 15 minutes in line.
Kudos to management! The line moved quickly and the employees were friendly and competent.
A SMALL is 20 OZ. and goes for about $ 5 and things head up from there. If you are new, I recommend you start small until you figure out what you like.
The lovely wife enjoyed a MangoFest and I quaffed a Blueberry Heaven. The quality is very high and they were both very tasty. This is a great addition to Havertown and I’m looking forward to returning!
