We came on Mother’s Day Sunday for dinner and I was surprised it was so empty. But we did arrive pretty late. The food was good; the décor was also very nice. I ordered the filet and chicken; the filet was extremely tender. I also had plum wine which was a little too sweet but that’s probably my fault for ordering plum wine. I noticed that they gave slightly smaller vegetable portions than other hibachi restaurants. This is a shame because eating a heaping serving of veggies lessens my guilt whenever I go out to eat… Overall the experience wasn’t bad and I wouldn’t mind coming back.

I must say, I like Lin’s Hibachi. I’ve only been to the hibachi side of it once, as I go in alone, but both hibachi and restaurant side are excellent. I like the fact that they will prepare 3, 45 or even 6 rolls(full rolls, mind you) for a substantial discount(3 for $ 13 is my usual go-to meal) and they have several dozen from which to choose on the regular roll side. The special rolls? They list almost a hundred(I’ll count next time I’m there) and they all seem delicious. This is the only place I’ve seen Chicken Katsu on the menu. I’ll have to try that sometime. My wife swears by it. Aside from the rolls, and they also have hibachi menu items on the restaurant side of the house, they offer standard fare such as bento boxes, with your choice of protein, and something I tried once called been negimaki :) Green onions rolled in slices of beef. Absolutely to die for! If you’re in the mood for Japanese, you won’t go wrong with Lin’s. They also have roll specials listed on the blackboard.

We came on a Thursday and got Lin’s King Roll and Spicy Girl Roll for $ 19.85, with seafood soup($ 4.5) and seawed salad($ 4.00). Sushi rolls were very good. Seawed salad was fresh. Seafood soup was quite good.

Im a bit of a prude when it come to food. I am very happy to recommend Lins menu. My faves are the Spicy Tuna stuffed Avacado because it is very mild and huge. Also the Ginger Sake drink was amazing. For Dinner I had the steak. Delicious and Happy Tummy!

Came here on a Wednesday night, and it was dead. Besides myself and bf, there was only one family at the hibachi table. We decided to eat in. The décor is nice, and the booths were comfy. The waitress was rude though. When I asked if I could change my order, she said that she’d already put in my order and clearly didn’t want to change it. She had put in my original order not even a minute ago before I asked if I could switch. She never came back to check on us, and some other waitress dropped off our food. No one ever came back to check om us, refill drinks, nothing. I ordered the chicken bento box, and it was really good. Service sucked though which is why I gave only three stars.

The hibachi show was entertaining. But I honestly feel like if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. They all do the spinning egg, the onion train, and the catching of food. I will say that this restaurant tossed vegetables as opposed to shrimp the fourth and most recent time I had hibachi here. I though that was a bit odd. But the hibachi chefs was very funny and still very entertaining. I love the sushi here. Decent sized rolls which contain 5+ nicely sized pieces. My favorite roll is the Texas roll. I usually ask for extra jalapeño but have only requested twice out of about five orders for this roll. The jalapeños they use are pretty spicy compared to other sushi spots I visit so for me there is no need to request extra. The waitresses are all very sweet and attentive, always making sure glasses are full and food is satisfactory.

Worst hibachi show I have ever seen. Brought my girlfriends family from Colombia to hopefully show them a good show except it sucked. Good food gets them a second star

Great quality. Everything fresh. Can’t wait to come back. Seaweed salad perfect. White swan roll executed to perfection and they weren’t chinch with the yellow tail sushi.

Last night I ate here as part of a 22 person group and I was VERY disappointed with Lins. I’ve been eating here literally since they opened and my experience made me somewhat sad. Lin’s food has always been excellent. I am always telling people where I work that they are one of the hidden jewels of Havre de Grace, but I imagine that won’t happen so much anymore. My issue with my last meal there has nothing to do with the quality of the food itself. I had the steak and scallop hibachi and it tasted wonderful like always. The issue I have is with the quantity of the food, not the quality. It was like they should change the name to «Lin’s 3⁄5 Hibachi». I really should have taken a picture of the plate, it was honestly that bad. I got maybe three decent bites of noodles, perhaps half a cup of fried rice, four scallops, and about half a cup of cut up steak. I suppose it would be different if I was only paying $ 10 for the meal, but for a restaurant that charges around $ 20-$ 25 a plate, it was completely unacceptable. I actually left after dinner thinking about hitting up the McDonald’s because I was still hungry. The people in our party definitely noticed the tiny portions and some looked as mad as I was shocked. I don’t know if this was an anomaly or a new trend, but I think the empty dining room on a Friday night might be a clue as to which one it is. This is sad because I used to LOVE Lin’s, but for the price of their dinner I don’t think I will take that gamble again.

I came here last night and Lins did not disappoint. We had reservations for 6:30 but had to wait about 20 mins until there was a full crowd to fill up the hibachi table. No worries though, we headed to the bar. The bartender was nice and informative. I asked how the sangria on the menu was and he suggested getting something else because it wasn’t that good. He let us sample the asian pear wine. It was very sweet but tasty. Our chef at the table put on a great show. We got Saki squirted into our mouths and he tossed us slices of zucchini. It was a fun experience. I got the chicken and shrimp hibachi. This included miso soup and salad with ginger dressing that came out before the chef arrived at our table. The meal was served with fried rice, noodles and veggies. The portions are big but worth the price. The place was clean, staff friendly, food fresh. I’d like to come back and try the sushi soon.

Tried this place with friends and family. It was a pretty nice place at least visually. Nicely decorated. I decided to order sushi while most of the party ordered hibachi. The sushi was okay in terms of price and taste. Selection of the special rolls were minimal but sufficient. Service was slow and there was only one competent server. The rest seemed confused most of the time. Also it took awhile for the sushi to come. As I waited I watched the Hibachi show which was just okay. I didn’t like how they throw zucchini at you to catch in your mouth. I thought that it’s rude but most people seemed to enjoy it. At the end of the meal we had fried ice cream which was also okay. Overall will try again.

It’s that time of year again — birthday time. My daughter has been dying to dine at Lin’s since they opened a few months ago, but we keep putting her off. Apparently my husband has an aversion to catching food in his mouth. Her birthday was the perfect excuse for a celebratory hibachi meal. Lin’s Hibachi is what Sakura would be if it were owned by Tokyo strip club operator instead of a poorly dressing dbag. Lin’s did not fail to deliver your standard hibachi fair, with your standard hibachi entertainment, for your standard hibachi prices. They have over the top décor though, and some over the top birthday traditions. We made reservations for 8 for Sunday. The place definitely looks like a nightclub — both from the street and while inside. The food was pretty darn good. The table started off sharing an eel and avocado roll and a salmon flower. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Got the usual soup and salad — not original, but delicious nonetheless. Our chef was amusing and talented, although he definitely overcooked everything that hit our plates. Nothing a little ‘yum yum’ sauce can’t counteract though :) In addition to that, he forgot the chicken part of my husbands«steak and chicken» meal. Instead of shrimp, he threw raw zucchini in our mouths. It was all very entertaining and delicious. Then it came time for the bill. This is normally where other hibachi restaurants would send out their mean owner to yell at us. Instead, Lin’s staff brought out a few scoops of ice cream and what can only be described as a singing, spinning firecracker flower while playing ‘Happy Birthday’ over the loudspeaker. It made my birthday girls night very special. We will be back.

Very suprised to have been here. The service and food are excellent for the area. When I walked in, I was shocked to see its modernistic design considering its location. Solid food, good wait staff, typical hibachi menu and show. Definitely recommend it

Solid restaurant. Came here for dinner last night. My parents and fiancé are vegetarians — me? Not so much, but I try. Last night, I was not trying. I got the Steak & Chicken. Tasted a little bland — lacked flavor — but it certainly wasn’t bad. My fiancé got the vegetable sushi, which she was not a fan of but she ate it anyway. Both of my parents got the shrimp teriyaki(they cheat when it comes to seafood) and loved it. My parents live in Philadelphia and we live in DC. Every other week or so we meet up at a restaurant in Havre de Grace because it’s a good middle ground to meet up. The last few times we’ve meet up at the Laurrapin grille but they closed at 6PM on Sunday’s — along with all the other restaurants along North Washington Street. So strange. What my fiancé and I found to be hilarious and my parents — along with other guests who walked up to the doors and then turned around — was the severe confusion this place has with their identity. When you enter the restaurant, it’s chic, trendy, and appeasing to the eyes. It’s your typical Asian-fusion, very clean, Hibachi-joint. However, first impressions are important and the establishment looks like a straight up strip club from the parking lot. My parents arrived about five minutes and as I was sitting at the red light to make a u-turn to turn into the parking lot, I could see they were still sitting in their car. I figured they must be closed and we’d be audibling to another restaurant. Instead, they were hesitant to enter because they honestly thought it was a strip club. There was this picture of a big breasted, seductive-looking woman promoting some DJ event that was taking place on the property. Apparently, Lin Hibachi is trying to recreate itself as more of a night club on the weekends, I guess? Like I said, very odd location to do this at, if you’re familiar with the area. This woman is supposedly a DJ who was spinning there the previous night. I don’t know why you have to show ¾ of your breasts, if you’re profession is a DJ. Are you trying to distract us from your actual talent of spinning records with that? Mission accomplished at least for my dad and me but I, personally, can’t take a DJ seriously with a poster like that. It’s something I’d have on my wall as a 12-year old boy entering puberty. My parents claimed that they saw another couple walk up to the doors, stare at the posters plastered on the door, talk amongst themselves for a few seconds and then got back into their car and left. Like I said, I’m not from Havre de Grace so maybe this place is jumping on Saturday’s. It’s quite possible — even though I can’t picture it is. So all of this is meant as constructive criticism, not a diss — cause the food was actually decent and the presentation of the restaurant was on point. Having said all that, we’ll probably still return because it’s a nice, middle-ground location between DC and Philly with vegetarian options.

I was very impressed with this place. I’ve come here a few times. I feel the prices are fair for what you get(I usually splurge with filet mignon hibachi). I thought the service was quite good. Only feedback I have is that most places that make hibachi offer 2 kinds of sauces, this only offers the creamy(mayonnaise-based?) one. Also, the salad that comes with your meal is iceberg(not unusual, but it’s not unheard of for it to be something better lately), and the dressing they use is too watery. I’d just skip salad and go with the tasty soup. This is as good as it gets for the 40 corridor by a longshot. It’ll be a semi-frequent lunch stop for me.

Brand new restaurant… Clean, contemporary, decent wait staff, EXCELLENT sushi chef’s. I have been twice since it opened because the prices for the Hibachi are a bit steep for my wallet. The sushi is fairly priced. The food is very good(I am getting addicted to the dressing on the salad! A sweet and savory ginger sauce that reminds you of honey mustard when you look at it but tastes nothing like it). Now, for the complaints that loses them one star: TOOMANYSEATSAROUNDEACHHIBACHISTATION(there 6 stations, 2 in each«round»). I do not like to sit on top of people when I am eating, especially since they sit strangers next to each other. It is truly BEYOND cozy… ditch about 3 chairs per«round»! The other complaint is that they wait too long to start cooking on the grill; evidently waiting for the«round» to fill up with more people. I understand efficiency, but who has time for that for lunch if you are on a schedule? So, if that is all I have to complain about, that says something! Good job and keep on improving!
