Everything here was excellent from my cream of crab soup to my crab imperial stuffed flounder. Definitely was a nice treat in my visit home. Would definitely visit again. A new found treasure

We had a late lunch/early dinner here. We have been to this restaurant several times and we have been happy with the food. The crab cake sandwich was excellent! We love their fries too. We had a very energetic and fun waitress. Her recommendations were good, we ordered a couple of the dishes she recommended and they were very good. The brownie with ice cream was one of the best I had in a long time. The prices are OK.

Another place in Havre de Grace that has its ups and downs. Sometimes it’s really good, sometimes I feel like I need to complain(but I don’t). Sometimes the staff is at the top of their game, sometimes they aren’t. I have to give it three stars because it is neither consistently bad nor consistently great. Everyone has different expectations, so your experience may vary greatly from mine.

Excellent dinner the other night! Great rockfish entrée and steak platter! Both perfectly prepared! Havre de Grace has a few awesome testers t’s downtown but tonight we were thoroughly impressed!

Amazing restaurant!!! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the prices… However they are right in line with the location. Been here about 6 or 7 times and have never had a complaint! Excellent crab dip with amazing pita, amazing chicken Baltimore, great taco salads in a real taco bowl and great drinks! They even have Moscato on the wine list!!! My personal fav. :) Definitely highly recommended if you visit or live in the area!

The food wasn’t terrible, but it was definitely over priced for such a limited menu. We went here when the wait for Tidewater was over half an hour. We should have waited for Tidewater.

Had a late dinner. Service was excellent. Even though it wasn’t an «R» month I started with some raw oysters on half shell. They were delicious! Icey cold and juicy. For my entrée I chose the special, pan fried rainbow trout on a bed of basmati rice with an amazing lemon butter sauce, asparagus and 2 over easy fried eggs. I’ve never had eggs with my fish and boy have I been missing out!

Blown away. I have brought over 15 people here from various areas as the best representation of Havre de Grace over the last year, so you can imagine my surprise tonight when I bring in family from two different states on the west coast and I am SOMORTIFIED! The bar area was full, so we were forced to sit in the main area: no big deal but you can’t get the happy hour prices, and the new menu that is void of the classic HdG staple — crab dip pretzel. Seriously, WTF?! How is it our fault that the bar area is full? If you don’t honor the happy hour prices throughout the establishment then don’t serve the same menu. I have friends in the local hotel businesses that send people here specifically for that pretzel raving that it is the perfect example of what HdG is on a plate! I’m so disappointed. I will never be back here when there are so many other great places that capture the area and care about their visitors as well as capturing the spirit of this area. Further issues that blow my mind on the new menu are the inflated prices. When a 10 year old mentions that her meal has gone up in price, you know there are issues. $ 9 for a plate of children’s pasta and marinara sauce? Seriously? Wow.

Solid but uninspired food. Service was slow despite the fact that we were there at 2:30 and the place was just about half full. Not great, but not terrible.

I could see why people don’t like this place, but I must admit that I liked my meal. The inside is rather dated and the service was iffy at best. And price wise, yeah this place is pretty expensive. All that aside, I thought my crab cake meal was fantastic. Two large and delicious crab cakes. Good baked potato in the side. Great table bread. Limited but good craft beer selection. We went on a Friday night and the deck was pretty packed but the inside was quiet. Parking seemed reasonable in the downtown area.

Great service, bad food. Heard from others the mussles they got before were burnt black & the second round they got were«crunchy» due to not being cleaned well. Attempted to give them a chance– Mussles I received weren’t that crunchy, but their recipe is bland. Paid for an expensive meal(including some overpriced alcohol) & left hungry & unsatisfied. Maybe next time, but not for mussles. My rating is for what I ordered, so please don’t judge their other menu items, for I have no knowledge or opinion of them.

The service that I received was great. The prime rib could have been seasoned a little bit better. But overall I would come back.

Oh my… I SOOO wanted to love this place. My friends and I stopped in for a bite to eat before the ghost tour started(don’t waste your money on the tour, by the way), having been told by several locals that this was THE place to go. When we walked in we quickly noticed that it was very small/cramped inside, and very dark. But we found a seat big enough to accommodate the four of us, and were quickly given menus. But then our server just disappeared. We ended up having to go to the bar to order our drinks, and had to ask for the server to come back. When he finally did show up, it was the bartender! Apparently the management didn’t seem to think they’d need any extra help on a Saturday night? Poor guy! This guy was so busy, with everyone sitting at the bar plus all the tables, that it took forever to get our food, and when we did get it we were disappointed to find that it was just average at best. It was another long wait when we were ready to pay and leave… so long in fact that we went to the bar and just paid there. So the poor review isn’t because of the poor bartender who had to everything by himself, but for the lousy management that allowed this to happen and for the poor quality of the food.

Wonderful lunch on the beautiful deck. Avocado crab cake salad was wonderful. Going back for Ed and Rick music tonight.

Service was slow. Luckily we weren’t in a huge hurry. We had a larger party and it was too much of an effort for them to push some tables together so we ate at 3 different tables. Food was subpar. Ordered the crab and bacon grilled cheese and they forgot the bacon(the essence of the sandwich!) and it was cold. Cream of crab was very good but don’t think I would eat here again.

Visiting the east coast and was really looking forward to eating some yummy crabcakes. These did not disappoint. They were large and reasonably priced. Living in Florida it is rare to get a good Maryland crabcake. Their cream of crab soup was also delicious but filling. The green beans that came with my meal were also very fresh. The atmosphere was also good and there was a band there Saturday evening. If I’m back in the area, I would go there again.

Food: 3 stars Atmosphere: 4 stars Service: 5 stars! My husband and I were off on a random Monday afternoon in June. The sun was shining, our bellies were rumbling… time to trek to Havre de Grace for a date featuring some great outdoor seating! We decided on MacGregor’s because seafood sounded good, and their prices were more desirable than Tidewater Grille’s. THEFOOD(3 Stars) We split the lunch crabcake sandwich as an appetizer. The sandwich didn’t taste bad, nor did it taste great. Meaty, but underseasoned. Other descriptors that come to mind: blah, lackluster, nothing to write home about. My husband got the salmon BLT. Good not great. The salmon, I’d have to say, was perfectly done! But like the crabcake, it was a touch underseasoned. The bacon and aioli were nice complements. My swordfish BLT was probably a 2-star meal. The swordfish tried hard to taste cajun-y, but fell flat. Once again, bland is the overall theme of the meal. The fries were delicious! The right combination of salty/crispy/soft. THEATMOSPHERE(4 stars) We sat on the deck with great views of the water. We propped open the umbrella to avoid the sun beating down directly. We were in the mood for outdoor seating, and this place delivered. The deck was clean, and as it was a Monday afternoon, we shared the space with only two other tables. Very pleasant! SERVICE(5 stars) *Drumroll please* … Introducing Trey, one of the best and loveliest waiters ever. Trey is the reason this place gets 5 stars for service. He was willing to provide excellent customer service by going above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I inquired about the ingredients in a blood orange bellini(champagne, yes, but what else?) He politely said he was unsure, but would ask the bartender. He came back with the bottle of blood orange concentrate so I could have the best idea of what was in the drink. I opted to get it. When I received it, I hated it. He must be intuitive, because a minute after my first sip, he came to the table and said, «ma’am, please know that if the drink is not to your liking I would be more than happy to bring you something else»(perhaps he saw my grimace from afar). I took him up on his offer and was touched by his consideration for my preferences. Throughout the meal he continued to provide great service and was attentive to our needs. Yay, Trey. Overall: 4 stars. The food isn’t spectacular, but the experience was lovely. Next time, I’ll aim to try a full seafood entrée as opposed to a sandwich off the lunch menu.

This place has a tiny tiny tiny bar. Drink prices are high. There’s a covered deck bar, too, with a spectacular view of the water plant next door. It is difficult to get service in each. The food is pricey and fair, at best. I have lived in HdG for more than several years and I have never seen the why of this place. It is «where the old people are». I would give fewer stars if I could. Skip it.

Terrible, or at least not what I expected. First, because of a private party, the outside eating area was closed(no party ever showed while I was there, which was over two hours). The menu was quite limited, especially due to my general disdain for seafood. I ordered a burger, which was above average but the french fries it came with were undercooked and soggy. My wife had crab cakes, which she commented were okay, but nothing to write home about(she normally raves for crab cakes with large lumps, but none were to be found here). For what we ordered, I feel that I paid $ 50 for a $ 30 meal, and couldn’t enjoy the nice views of the Susquehanna. Not recommended. The Tidewater Grill, located just feet away, is a superior choice.
