Came across this place after finding my first two choices were packed. The service is great. The waitresses are attentive and polite without being overbearing. The food was very good and was prepared quickly. Pleasantly surprised by this place and will definitively be returning.

Argy’s is a great little old-fashioned postcard-style diner serving both Greek and American cuisine. It’s cute and clean — great for family meals or friendly lunches. The staff is courteous and helpful and the prices are great. The souvlaki is definitely some of the best in the area.

I have a friend who I just love to go out to breakfast with. For some reason, we have a hard time finding a place that serves breakfast late that is a great place to go. What a surprising gem we have found in Argy’s. I believe it is owned by a Greek couple – so on the menu, you will find some Greek influences here. I look forward to trying some of them in the future. The place is small, but bright, welcoming and clean. Our food came out promptly. Nice-sized poritons – not too big, not too small but just right. The food was served hot and it was tasty – like you were eating in your mom’s kitchen. I have ONLY had breakfast here, so I can’t speak to the other menu items – but I have tried a variety and I’ve been really pleased. I really want these people to do great, because I want to keep coming here. If you want a change of pace, take the drive to Haw River and give Argy’s a try! :-)

I’ve eaten here three times. Two of the meals were not very good; one was disgusting. The first time I had a chicken sandwich with American cheese. The chicken wasn’t marinated, just grilled. It didn’t really have any flavor. Thankfully, the table had mustard. I was willing to overlook this, as it was a new restaurant at the time. BTW, who puts American cheese on chicken? The second time I had a pizza burger. It would have been edible except that the bread tasted like it was flavored with aluminum. I was willing to overlook this as bad luck. The third time I got a nice little surprise when the waitress served me a cup of yummy, homemade soup! YAY! But the meatloaf was one of the worst things I’d ever eaten. It was as if the cook had taken meatloaf, puréed it, poured it into a mold, baked it into a solid block of meat, sliced it and slapped it on a plate. It was the meatloaf equivalent of pressed particle board. The sides were flavorless green beans and black eyed peas. Thankfully there was lots of pepper on the table. The soup was good though. I can’t bring myself to go back. It is a nice quaint little diner though.

So, to understand my rating you must know that before stopping here for lunch(with 2 little kids) I had been thrift hunting in air-conditioning free stores for a couple of hours. And, I am in Burlington, on Church Street, among maaaaany strip malls. This is truly just a little diner, with $ 3 grilled cheese(think white bread and Velveeta cheese), $ 3 kid chicken fingers, etc. The wait staff(and seemingly all the customers as well) are super friendly(especially since I am a pretty tattooed mom, not the norm in these parts). Perfect for a cheap and fast lunch.
