Cool environment but that’s it. I tried the honey bear and it was not good! Hardly any kava, lots of bland coconut milk, and supposedly honey but I didn’t taste it. Bad taste with no good effects. Plus the girls working there were super rude. Would not go back.

Their hibiscus lavender shave ice is the best flavor of shave ice I have ever tasted. Period. The price is average to high, but the organic juice shave ice flavors are its saving grace.

I usually go with jumbo, or whatever is unusual when it comes to local specialties when I’m traveling, so I was a little bit disappointed when I learned they had only one fits-all size. ;-) I was totally wrong. Whoever said quality over quantity wins. I had Lilikoi shave ice, and I’m looking forward to trying other flavors when I’m back in town some day!

I really wanted to like Kava Kafe. We’d heard about the Shaved Ice from a respected server at another restaurant. And after a day ramping up my little girl for her first Shaved Ice experience? We get here and find the girl serving was a total ass. Short tempered. Surly. Unfriendly. Even to a little girl. The shaved ice was good but the experience ended our lovely day on a «suck» note.

What a fun place to hang out and enjoy the island weather and the north island vibe! I’m coming back for more of the blended Kava drinks. The staff is friendly and relaxed, the space fun and colorful with great natural light and air. Tucked in between two building and back up behind them, you get to ascend a series of patios for outdoor seating or go inside to admire the art! The place is fun!

Made a stop on a Friday after lunch for some shaved ice. Really generous portion although price is per topping choice. What surprised me was the variety of fudge for purchase. I’m a big chocolate person and enjoyed all the fudge as well as the take home box to finish off later. Cash only Most make a stop here for some Kava which was served in coconut bowls. I didn’t get to try it because they were still making it(batch was sold out when I was there). Will try again next time around.

Best shave ice! Fine and powdery — not crunchy like a snow cone. Good shaved ice is a different thing altogether! Lots of flavors. A nice reward after driving from Waimea through those lush green ranch lands.

Good shave ice! Have vanilla ice cream in it– it’s genius + delicious! Great staff. Good outdoor seating-relaxed, cool, and comfortable. Well done.

Best fudge in the whole entire world. There were a few ants on mine, I ate them… didn’t care… it’s that good. Ants are a natural source of B12; google«ants b12» if you don’t believe me. They did add crunchiness to the fudge. Try the Kava drinks: it’s like taking a handful of Klonopin and Xanax minus the side effects. Go hiking at the black sand beach after a few drinks, you’ll be floating above the waves :-)
