Food is horrible just keep driving down the road or go to Sonic. Ordered a chzburger that was advertised as fresh pressed with bacon. Meat was frozen meat and the bacon was probably cooked this morning if not yesterday. Onion rings were doughy and old tasting. Service was horrible.

Had a hamburger here with onion rings A nice comfortable environment to eat. Music not too loud playing in the background, polite service. Place is fairly clean for its age. I leave happy

We usually eat at Richies for Breakfast but not anymore. The coffee is horrible. Watered down, cold and you have to beg for refills. The breakfasts have become very greasy. Not sure what happened to breakfast but not good. Lunch wasn’t much better. Chicken fried steak is a frozen mess. Potatoes had no flavor. It has gone downhill from a year ago.

We eat here at least twice a month. Great food and prices are good. They also offer daily specials. Chips and salsa included.

We stayed a couple of nights at a friend’s cabin in Holly Lake Ranch and was passing through Hawkins on Saturday night about 8:30pm and saw Richie’s. Youngest kid was starving, so we gave it a shot. Typical grill fare and children’s meals with extended Mexican food as well. Bathrooms were clean and in decent shape. Service was fantastic. Dining room a little dated and using banquet chairs. Food was good! The hot green salsa they serve with some of the entrées was excellent the chips and salsa were good. Guacamole was fresh and was prepared well. The queso wasn’t so much, way too much corn starch to thicken it without using more cheese. The queso was really the only disappointing menu item. We had enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, grilled catfish, Childs plates, and the angus burger and all were good. Drink glasses were never empty and food served promptly by friendly folks. Wish Unilocal had ½ stars because I’d be OK with 3−½ overall, but 4 stars is a tad of a overreach. We’ve been told the breakfast is wonderful, so we may try it before we head back home in a few days. We’d certainly come back to Richie’s when we are next coming through.

We live in Dallas, so we are very restaurant savvy. Ritchie’s rocks the breakfast menu! They have the best spinach artichoke omelet I’ve ever had! They service is fabulous. We frequently eat there when in Hawkins and would be hard pressed to find a better place to eat in these parts.

Was there for breakfast. The place was full of locals. Service was excellent. My coffee cup was never empty. This is not haute cuisine but if you want a hot, hearty breakfast at a spot where the waitresses know the regulars and the patrons know each other, then this is your place. I had the Richie’s skillet. Hash browns, eggs, ground beef and cheese. I would recommend it. The green salsa serves with really enlivens it. The biscuits were light and fluffy.

It’s packed for lunch. The chicken fried steak is HUGE. The enchiladas are good. It’s an average diner type place.

I’ve eaten at Richies a number of times. The food was good and properly prepared. Generous portions to the point that several times I have not been able to eat it all. The wait staff is courteous and professional. I have ordered both Tex-Mex and American fare here, and I have enjoyed it.

Formally known as Petty’s to the locals. I was passing through, and the options in Hawkins to eat are very slim. Took a chance on Richies. They have two menus: Tex Mex and roadside café fare. I’m very sorry I did. The mexican food was downright horrible. I was not able to finish my meal(brisket tacos). My old man had their«special» chicken friend steak. I thought it was impossible to mess that item up, but I was wrong. Hiding somewhere underneath the massive amounts of gravey-goo was the frozen steak. Fellow Unilocalers, if you find yourself hungry in Hawkins TX, keep on driving.
