Yes it’s old and a little musky but they have sweet plays with good acting. If there were ever a fund raiser for renovations, I’d gladly donate.

This early 20th century movie house has been converted into a community playhouse, and while a little dusty like all old theatres, it’s not at all in the condition the earlier review stated.(I imagine they’ve just never been in an older theatre, I’ve grown up in them and even the new ones are dusty, they just have newer lighting to brighten it up in the common areas.) The Ritz has an amazing amount of charm from the old marquise to the velvet seats. The Ritz Company offers a variety of shows from classic musicals to comedies and does a lot to keep the people of the community involved, including hosting charity events, and offering performance opportunities to school and college age students as well as adults. They also have a great kids program called the Ritz Bitz players that does one performance a year and has been a starting ground for several professional actors. It’s a great asset to the area and an entertaining night out.

The Ritz Theater is very important for any children, teens or adults that love to act. Other children will be happy as ushers during the summer play season. The adults who freely offer their experience, guidance and love of the arts are to be praised. Yes, the theater is older but I do not find it dirty or in need of major repair! I found it clean, comfortable(even cushions are given out if desired), a happy atmosphere and very exciting to be in the audience!
