Reservation on Saturday night was honored-right on time. Service was very good. Shrimp /goat cheese appetizer was fantastic. Waiter suggested adding a 4 th shrimp so my husband and I shared. Kitchen split the order and waiter served us 2 plates-always a plus. Presentation was above par. Shrimp scampi entrée was excellent-enjoyed potatoes and especially the fresh veggies. My husband ordered the homemade pasta special with shrimp, scallops and oyster mushrooms in a light red cream sauce with a touch of pesto-excellent! We shared a tiramisu for dessert-light and delicious! Dining room was noisy but food was excellent !

Perfect. We had my sister’s birthday dinner on Saturday night. We had a great time, the staff was so professional. Andreas was the best waiter. The food was great and would recommend to everyone

The atmosphere is elegantly comfortable, with linen covered tablecloths situated to give you ample room. There is a decent sized bar that you can also enjoy dinner at as well as a few separate rooms for that special event. The service here is outstanding. The servers are very knowledgable and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your dining experience. The real star here though is the food(as it should be). Everything here is delicious every time you come here! It doesn’t matter if you come alone for lunch midweek, for dinner with friends, or for a celebration with family. The food is always outstanding. If you like authentic Italian this is your place. They also do a good job of putting together some very interesting specials. If you are looking to try a different type of fish, or even some more exotic meats you can not go wrong with trying it from their specials. Needless to say if you haven’t been here you should go, hopefully you will be able to get a seat, and I am positive you will enjoy your meal.

Wasn’t impressed with the food at all especially for the price but service was good so I’ll give them that.

Excellent staff, festive atmosphere, and great entertaiment. However, the experience was tarnished by a gentlemen at the door who said he would not let me in because I was«underdressed». He then suggested I go to my car and change my shoes, while he himself was wearing sneackers. Seriously? We enjoyed the afternoon despite that — but unlikely to return.

Dined November 2015. Been here a few times before. Main dining room is extremely loud which can ruin the entire experience. I’d suggest moving the bar out of the main dining room. Food is generally good with some exceptions, but service(kitchen) is slow. Valet is great.

On a whim and based on reviews, I hosted my parents joint 60th birtbday dinner here. We rented out the bigger private wine room, although happy to say it wasn’t completely private to the point where you feel locked in a wine cellar. The room had an opening to the main restaurant. The service was top notch, especially for a party of 22. The quality of food for the price is unbeatable. Highly recommend the eggplant Florentine for an appetizer as well as the rigatoni vodka. I’m looking forward to going back with a smaller crowd to enjoy high quality Italian food. Also, the house wine is stellar.

This review is for a baby shower I just attended Yes the buffet was good. It was a brunch and everything was not only nice and hot but tasty. Most of all the service is impeccable and that is why I gave it 5 stars. The waiters and all the staff are so courteous, patient with the patrons and accepting every challenge with a smile One of the staff was Drew. He not only acted as waitstaff but attended to the party billing, clean up etc. This young man was top notch, gracious and super attentive. He is worth his weight in gold to this place. I would bring my own reunion or party there just due to their great service I heard someone ask for toast to be made for them and they said yes ma’am and went and made her some toast which wasn’t on the menu To the management. Do whatever you can to hold onto Drew and the staff you have. They are all gems!

I was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday there next month for their brunch, but my experience with their customer service has pushed me to book my party else where. I’ve reached out several times to make reservations since July for Sept. I never received a response until today which wasn’t detailed at all. I had to keep emailing back and forth until I stopped receiving responses. I even reached out to their promote Erock twice and never got a respond.

This is a must try… It’s a well run establishment. From the minute you enter the restaurant you are greeted with a smile. To the very good wait staff. And then to the excellent always consistent food… I have been coming here for years .One of my top restaurants in the area… will not disappoint …

I had lunch here today and was very surprised at how nice the restaurant is inside and how good the food was and the amazing service. I didn’t know what to expect because Hawthorne isn’t the greatest location and it’s kind of hidden in a strange area. The wood, the fireplace, low lighting, white table cloths, super reasonable prices and great food all made it a great experience and a perfect date night location.

This place is a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere! It is a little bit in from the road which can make it easy to pass I came here for the power lunch special. For this great deal you get a glass of wine, house salad, and lunch entrée for $ 18. Portions are a little on the small size. The house salad was a bit small and see-through because I was able to see the bottom of my plate when I go the salad lol. The salmon was excellent, perfectly cook and I loved the spinach and potatoes which were seared with crispy cheese on top. My dad’s tilapia looked sooooo good and I can’t wait to get that when I come back. The interior is absolutely gorgeous with the chandeliers in the main dining room. The staff is very friendly.(Make sure to check our the cool bathrooms as well).

What can I say? This place really has it all. Dan is the man! He really knows how to host an event, and take care of his customers. Not a minute went by, looking around for someone to get you a drink or anything else, it was instant, without even asking. Venue: Perfect. We had a group of 11 people, in a nice small room, fireplace etc. Very intimate without being crammed. Well decorated, not tacky at all. Food: Great! Calamari was very fresh, bruschetta was spot on, antipasto was awesome. Nice meats and cheeses, great bread and olive oil was out of this world. Salads were simply over the top incredible. Not a single detail overlooked. Land & Sea entrée was spectacular. Great piece of filet, cooked to perfection, shrimp were nice and crisp and truffle mash, well, what can I say other than, amazing. Drink: It seemed like they were almost trying to lose money on us, with absolutely no hesitation to open more bottles or pour more beers, the 3-hour open bar seemed endless and lasted more like 5 hours. Thank you! Service: Top notch. Dan really is a great host. Not overbearing, but there whenever you needed him. His staff were incredibly professional, and not just polite, they were engaging but not too much so. They have certainly been trained in-house. Overall: For a private party, I would 100% recommend this to anyone I know. We will be back for dinner, and likely for brunch too. Overall an A+ experience, with not a single piece of the puzzle missing. They over achieved in my book and it did not go un-noticed. Thanks again!

I went to Bottagra for dinner with some friends of mine recently. The service was aweful. Our waiter was rude and it took way over an hour to get our food. When it finnaly got to the table, it was cold. I dont think they know what they are doing in the kitchen as far as time managnent is concerned. The food is not well prepared and leaves a lot to be desired. I give this place a thumbs down. Not worth the money.

This place is as good as it gets. From the service to the ambiance to the food — excellent all around. I came here for dinner with a bunch of coworkers on a Friday night and Bottagra did not disappoint. We had reservations and grabbed a drink at the bar until all 10 of us had arrived. They accommodated our party very well. Here’s the breakdown: Location: For such a nice restaurant, it is in a very odd location. It’s on a typical busy road in Hawthorne, NJ next to a tire business and near several other industrial type businesses. The restaurant itself looks like a beautiful home and it set back off the road so it creates its own atmosphere once you pull in the parking lot. Parking: The parking lot is huge, but they have valet parking so they park your car for you. This is wonderful for the winter months. Décor: Warm, upscale, dimly lit. Appropriate music and volume for the setting. Service: The server(or maitre d for this type of establishment) came over and was extremely well-versed with the specials for the night. They change every night and this guy had them down to a T. He added some flare and a little humor; it was very entertaining. Apparently this guy has done a commercial/commercials so he is a good character and really lightened us up from the start. Food: I would suggest you order from the specials. Some of us did and some of us didn’t, but we all enjoyed our meal. Two of my friends ordered the Porterhouse steak and that was literally more than enough to share for two grown men. I had the Sea Bass special on top of spinach and a butternut squash mash. Amazing. The place is pricey, but you’re paying for the quality and the quantity. I recommend this place for a date night or a special event with friends!

NOTE: I am reviewing Bottagra from the catering and party venue perspective rather than the traditional dining experience. We came here for our cousin’s first communion and it turned out pretty well! The décor while seemed somewhat dated, it looked very homely. There was enough room for about 70 of us for an afternoon communion reception. There was even room for a photo booth, a dessert table and a magician to perform for the kids. The food was pretty good — we had some beef, chicken, penne pasta, all Italian-style. The sangria was refreshing and the service was serviceable. The fruit was fresh and the appetizers were good. I would definitely go back to take a look at their menu.
