Cemetary of the Gate of Heaven

This cemetery is huge, beautiful and very peaceful. No one wants to have to visit one, but if you do, this is the place to go. I have a few family members buried here and I’m always taken with how gorgeous it is.

The Gate of Heaven Cemetary is beautiful and serene. Both of my grandparents are buried here and I try to visit as often as I can. They bought the plot years before they passed, because they loved the foliage and the grounds. They actually bought the plot in front of theirs too, because they didn’t want to obstruct their view. There are two entrances and the Mt Pleasant Metro North station is nearby. There are many florists nearby as well, so it is very easy to buy flowers and plants.

This is a wonderful facility. When you drive in from Route 100 there is a sense of beauty, serenity and tranquility. It is a very comforting feeling driving down the rolling hills and roads were you are able to take in the beauty of manicured grounds and the foliage of the trees. The grounds are well maintain with grass mowed regularly, leaves being gathered and overall cleanliness.
It is a shame a few trees were removed due to the recent snow storm in October. I could see that the maintenance department is finishing the clean up.
I know this is weird reviewing a Cemetary, but I feel a sense of peace knowing this facility is maintain at a high level. Gate of Heaven is a well spaced Cemetary with two different entrances. There is also a Metro North stop within the grounds and by the main building. The staff is respectful at all levels and they have a friendly demeanor.
I highly recommend Gate of Heaven…
